This message opens a three-week series on understanding the anointing, starting with the anointing within. Drawing from Zechariah 4 and Isaiah 10, the teaching shows how yokes are broken not by might or power but by the Spirit, then unpacks the anointing as a marking, an inward connection to the Holy Ghost that teaches, reveals truth from error, and helps you overcome the world. Stories range from a missionary in Africa whose home was passed over by demonic forces because it was marked by the Spirit, to a member who leaned on the Holy Ghost to do a job he wasn't trained for, to a warning about ministers who lean on outward gifting while neglecting the inward anointing and burn out. Three keys for growing this inward anointing round out the teaching, letting God's word dwell richly, staying continually filled through praying in tongues, and walking in humility and honor toward others.

Opening Prayer And Yielding Daily

SPEAKER_00

Bibles, lift them up, wave them around, make Jesus glad, the devil mad. Thank God for his presence here this morning. Hallelujah. Let's say this together. Say, Heavenly Father, your presence is awesome. And I want to walk in this presence. Not only when I'm here in the house of God, but every day. I want to be mindful of the Holy Ghost that lives on the inside of me. He's not just hitchhiking. I yield to him every minute of every day. I'm learning to be more sensitive to his guidance. And I'll give you all the glory for the wonderful results. In Jesus' name. Amen. You can be seated. And junior high can be dismissed. Mr. Jimmy's going to be teaching you today. Let's look a couple of places. Zechariah.

Not By Might But By Spirit

SPEAKER_00

Have you read Zechariah's book? You know, you're going to see him in heaven one day. You need to make sure you've read his book. He's going to ask you, Did you read my book? Zechariah 4, 6, and also while you're turning to Isaiah chapter 10. Zechariah 4. Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might or by army, my margin says, nor by power, but by my spirit. Or by my ruach. The word spirit is the breath of God. By my spirit, saith the Lord. Not by might, not by power, but by my spirit. What's he talking about? He's talking about the rebuilding of the temple. He's talking about all the things that had befallen Israel, and they're praying about how to handle it. And he's telling them, oh, it's not by your great army. It's not even by the power of God, first of all. It's by my spirit first. My spirit first. I mean, his spirit has to come first before his power. And of course, all the armies in the world can't do what the Holy Ghost can do on the inside of a believer. Amen. Alright, and then looking at Isaiah chapter 10. And let me just set it up a little bit here. He's talking to Isaiah about the Midianites. Again, they're in trouble. They've got, or the Assyrians, I should say, the Assyrians are giving them trouble. And in verse 27. And it shall come to pass in that day that his burden, the Assyrians' burden, shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck. And the yoke shall be destroyed because of what? The anointing. The yoke shall be destroyed. As by the swelling of the neck, if you look all that up, it's if the anointing comes on the beast of burden, which happened to be Israel. I mean, he's he's comparing, you know, and he said the yoke of the Assyrians will be broken when you get full of the Holy Ghost, and you get full of his anointing. Your neck will swell and all that will be destroyed. You know, God doesn't want your yoke to be uh, you know, Jesus' yoke is easy, his burden is light, it's not non-existent. But the devil will always try to yoke you up to heavy loads. And the anointing is the is the way to get loose of those. The yoke shall be destroyed because of what? The anointing.

Building A Balanced Word Spirit Church

SPEAKER_00

So I want to start a series, uh, three weeks. This this is the first week of this subject, understanding the anointing. Uh, you know, when Jesus uh visited me and the Holy Ghost began to deal with me about starting his church, and and I finally got released from Brother Osteen to do so. I I sub- I ran it by him first, and he he held off his blessing for just a little while, and and then he called me and said, Okay, it's on. And if you want to start that church, you got my full and then uh full. I see, I held out for the full and unreserved blessing of my pastor. There's no way I'm going out without it. And so I did. I went out with, I went out with it, and uh, you know, I began to pray. What about the name? What are we gonna name this church? Glorious Way Church. I said, God, glorious way. That's hard to say, hard to spell. I said, can't we just have something a little simpler? Glorious Way Church. And uh you ever argue with God about what he's talking to you about? I mean, how dumb can you get? But he said, your church, this church is gonna be a word and spirit church. It's gonna be a word and everybody say, word and spirit. I mean, you need the word, but you need the anointing. And he said, you're gonna have both. And you're gonna have a balance, and I'll determine the balance. So we always let the Holy Ghost have his way. Sometimes we have more of a Holy Ghost service, more of the gifts of the Spirit, more of manifestations of the, and then sometimes we just have a really good day in the Word. And uh, if you start trying to prefer one over the other, you're gonna get out of balance. I like to say it this way: the word without the Spirit, and you'll dry up. And the Spirit without the Word, you'll blow up. But if you have the Word and the Spirit working together, then you'll grow up. You'll show up. You'll glow up and you'll go up. Amen. So he told me to teach what I take for granted. So I teach on the anointing at least once a year. Because we need to under, and maybe you've heard this before. Well, you need it to hear it again. You know, if you've heard it before, then this will be water for what you've already heard. And uh if you haven't heard it, then it's seed then that can grow because God expects every Christian to function in the anointing. Uh many just throw the anointing, that word, into just one uh category. And uh, you know, and so they need you need uh understanding, you need teaching so that you can understand what it means and how it applies.

The Three Dimensions Of Anointing

SPEAKER_00

And uh and I'll be teaching on the three broad areas of the anointing. First of all, this morning, the anointing within. Everybody say the anointing within. I mean every believer has an anointing within. If you don't have the anointing within, then you're not saved. But now, whether you allow the anointing within to do what it's designed to do, see, that's what takes faith. That's why I'm teaching what I'm teaching, so that your faith will grow in the anointing, because you have it. But are you functioning in the anointing within? I mean, it's so important. The anointing within is really the most important of the three that I'm talking about, because without it, the other two don't really function well. But I say the anointing within me. All right, and then of course the anointing upon. And the anointing upon, then, is for your ministry, it's for your impact on this world, it's your your impact on other folks, it's me. The anointing upon is not for you, it's for others. And then, of course, the last one that we'll talk about is the corporate anointing, which is what happens down here in this altar. I've learned that with the anointing on my life, the anointing within me, the anointing upon me, I would rather operate in the anointing, the corporate anointing. There's just a higher, there's a greater power, there's a greater accuracy. Everything is clear. It's not that I don't do personal ministry, it's not that I won't pray for people. You know, I've had people that I've had to pray for out in the you know, countryside, or maybe they come to the office and we pray for them. But I'm telling you right now here at this altar, if I can get somebody down at the altar, I'm telling you, the corporate anointing is great, is a mighty thing. And we need to know that. We need to understand that so we can receive from that. Amen? So the anointing, everybody say the anointing. This Isaiah 10.27, uh, you know, uh, the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.

Oil, Blood, And The Yoke Broken

SPEAKER_00

Uh, there in the Old Testament, that uh Hebrew word means grease or perfumed oil. They had a perfumed oil that they had in the Holy of Holies. They they that the it was a it was one of a kind. They they had a formula for it and they didn't dare use it for any other purpose but for uh sprinkling uh in the in the tabernacle. They whenever they would dedicate uh a priest for service, they would they would kill a bullock and and and take the blood and sprinkle it on the on the person and and on his garments. And uh and then they would dip his uh they would dip their uh thumb, they would the it would go in with their thumb, and they would go with their right big toe, their right thumb, and on their forehead would but go the blood, and then this perfumed oil would come, and they would anoint them. He'd sprinkle them with the oil and put the oil on their thumb, their great big toe and their forehead, and that so so that what is that pro uh see that's a symbol of the fact that the the the anointing can flow where the blood of God, where the blood of Jesus has been applied. We need to apply the blood. And so um, so it it it in the New Testament, when you come, we'll read one a verse here in 1 John that says the word anointing, and one one says unction, they mean about the same thing. Uh in that case, it means a smearing or a rubbing with oil. So when you're the anointing is a marking. I mean, you're marked, you're marked on the inside, the anointing within is there, and you're marked in the spirit realm.

Marked So Darkness Avoids You

SPEAKER_00

I I think about a missionary that was in Africa and he uh had a lot of demonic opposition. They don't they you know Africa's called the dark continent, not for no, it's it's because it's darkness there. There's a lot of witchcraft. A whole lot of witchcraft. And uh and so the church in Africa has to has to break away from that, just much like the Corinthians. They had a trouble getting rid of the devil, you know, because they were they were then the occult, and so they brought a lot of the occultic thinking and the occultic practices into the church, and you've got to you've got to discern what what what to throw away. I mean, you don't bring that stuff in. There's a lot of that in the Catholic Church because they believed in in adopting their churches where whatever country they were in. So the Catholic churches in in Africa, many of them are just filled with demons. Same in South America. I mean, that you know, why? Because they bring those occultic practices in. Trying to appeal to a crowd. No, that's not how we're to do it. I mean, we're take the word of God and the Holy Ghost. So anyway, uh, he uh they they they do things like astral projection. I mean, they'll get out and and you know, and and leave their bodies and go through the through the town. And uh we had that happen to our in our when we first started supporting our uh orphans in Malawi. The children were mainly uh their parents were dead, and they're most of the time they had a relationship with their grandparents. And so the grandparents would get to missing their children because they couldn't take care of them financially, so they came to the orphanage and they'd get to missing them, and they would call them, and the little the little orphan spirit would come travel to visit grandmother. You're looking at me like you're crazy. No, I'm not crazy. This is something that happens every day in Africa and other places. And uh, so anyway, this missionary was there, and uh he had a visitation uh while he was there because he was it was he was just being overwhelmed with all the demonic powers. And in uh in the vision that he had, the dream that he had, he saw demonic powers uh spread out through the town that he was the village that he was in. He was going, they were traveling, you know, they were going and and and and uh each each dwelling place, darkness, darkness, and then suddenly there would be a dwelling place, there was light coming out. And and and so the lead demon say, oh, don't don't go there, don't go there. There's the these these are Christians over there. Don't go in that, don't go in that room, don't go in that place. See, they were marked. They were marked with the smearing of the Holy Ghost on them. Come on now, lift your hands. You're marked in the spirit realm. I'm telling you, the devil's afraid of you. Don't ever be afraid of the devil. He's afraid of you. Why? Because you're marked. Glory to God. So

When You Feel Nothing Yet Powerful

SPEAKER_00

we know that oil is a type, maybe you don't know, but anyway, oil is a type of the Holy Ghost. And the anointing is often tangible, it's always powerful, but it's also like radiation, sometimes you really can't detect it when you are flowing with it or in it. It's it's it's like radiation. You know, my brother-in-law uh for a good period of many years uh worked for a company, then he would go through uh he found out that that companies needed uh annual uh certification on handling isotopes and radioactive material, pipeline companies, and X-ray the pipeline, or you know, of course, medical facilities. They would they had to have teaching and get their certificate renewed, and it and in order to get their certificate to handle that renewed, they had to go through a class, a week one-week class. He'd go, he he went across this country teaching that class. And uh, and he taught about the the dangers of radiation exposure. And you know, you can get overexposed to radiation, not even know it until you're dead. I mean, you can just get cooked inside before you even find out that you've got any problem. It's dangerous. It's it's like the anointing can be that way. You can have the most powerful anointing and not have one goosebump, not have one indication, but it's no less powerful. Are y'all with me now? So um uh we saw about the yokes being destroyed. Uh we saw there in Isaiah and Zechariah, not by might nor by army, but by my spirit, the anointing, the presence of God, the anointing can, I mean, I'm telling you, it can it can do great things on the inside of you. That's what we want to talk about, the anointing within you today. And that anointing can increase, as well as the anointing upon you can increase. I mean, you're not stuck with one level. God is willing for you to grow. Very similar to spiritual growth, very similar to your faith growing, is what I'm talking about with the growth of the inward anointing. Everybody say the inward anointing. See, you can grow and should grow in that inward anointing or the anointing within. Number

The Unction That Spots Deception

SPEAKER_00

one, it's for every believer. I mentioned that. If you're a believer, then you have it. Number two, let's look at 1 John chapter 2, and we'll read the verses about the anointing within. 1 John chapter 2, verse 20. But you have an unction from the Holy One, and you know all things. So you're a know-it-all-know, the unction knows everything. See, the unction is the anointing, it's really the Holy Ghost. He lives inside of you, he knows everything. So potentially, when you're, I want to describe the anointing within as your connection to the Holy Ghost. Your ability to receive what He knows and goes into what you know. And once it's your spirit knows it, then you can pray in other tongues and you can do things to where your own mind knows what your spirit knows. And now you, I mean, I'm telling you right now, if you learn to yield to the Holy Ghost, he'll make you He'll make you look smart. Well, we had uh uh a member one time who worked at a uh computer uh company and they were they were assembling and making computers. And uh and he was really wanting a you know wanting a promotion, and so we asked for promotions. They put him in a job and he he sat at a computer terminal with you know dealing with stuff that he just didn't even know what he was doing. He said, Holy Ghost helped me with this, and you know he the Holy Ghost helped him do his job. I mean, he didn't have the education for it, but the Holy Ghost knew it all. I mean, I don't recommend this to novices because you could get fired, but I mean if you really have a good, if you really have that connection on the inside between the Holy Ghost and your spirit called the anointing within, then you're gonna you're gonna know some things. You're gonna know some things by the Spirit. And so the context of this verse, if you'll read up here a little bit before this, in verse 18, little children, it is the last time. Well, that's 2,000 years ago. Guess what? It's the lot, it's later now than it was then. And as you have heard that Antichrist shall come, the Antichrist shall come. Uh even now are there many Antichrists. See, Talerico is one of those. Somebody asked me, Well, what do you think about Talerico? I stay away from him. He's an antichrist, he's an antichrist spirit. He's spewing out things. I mean, talking about, I read yesterday where he said that uh government-supplied health care is in the Bible. I don't know what Bible he reads, you know. I honestly don't. But uh, you got to be careful. So he's warning the little children, there are many in Christ whereby you know that it is the last time. They went out from us, but they were not of us. See, some of these people were in church, and they speak with a certain amount of authority and a certain amount of where they sound like they know what they're talking about. And they would be, have no doubt have continued with us, but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us, but you have an unction from the Holy One and you have and you know all things. So he's talking about you know, you know when somebody is an antichrist spirit. You've got an unction on the inside that will let you know when somebody's off base. Isn't that what Jesus said? They asked Jesus, what are the signs of your coming? And the first thing he said, take heed that you be not deceived. There's so many Christians that are deceived, they vote wrong, they hang out with people they shouldn't hang out with. Why? Because they've never grown in the anointing within. They've never grown in the unction. Learn to function in the unction. That's what I'm teaching about. You've got to have faith to follow it. It goes against your brain, it goes against your reason, it goes against, well, I want to give this person a chance. I don't give the devil a chance. Alright, then verse 27. But the anointing which you have received. Everybody say, I have received the anointing. That you've received of him abideth in you, and you need not that any man teach you. But as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth and is no lie, even as it hath taught you, you shall abide in him or in it, in the anointing. So he's not talking about you know it all. He's not talking about you don't need teaching. He's talking about when you've got the Holy Ghost, you know what's truth from error, you know what's wrong from right, you know what's devil and what's God. And if you'll learn to lean on that. Are y'all with me now? Understanding the anointing. So every anointing, then the anointing within then is for every believer. Number two, it's for to teach you. Number three, it's to reveal truth from error. That's so important, especially now. There's so much error and there's so much deception. You've got to learn to lean on the anointing within you, the one who knows all things. Lives inside of you, and he's not just hitchhiking, he is in there to communicate with you. How can he communicate with you if you don't give any uh thought at all to the anointing within you, and you don't develop that and you don't increase in that? Number four, he he's he's in there to help you. John 14, 26, I'll res I'll send another comforter who will live and abide with you forever, even the spirit of truth. See, that's connected to the anointing. The helper, that the the paraclete. He's the strengthener, the standby, the helper, the counselor. How do you receive from him? Through the inward anointing. A weak inward anointing, you're going to miss out what the Holy Ghost is trying to show you. Because He only speaks to your spirit. He will not speak to your flesh. He will not speak to your carnal mind. It's only through your spirit. I could teach, you know, being led of the Spirit, and we do. A lot of Christians, they're not led by the Spirit, they're led by their own emotions. They're led by reason. Especially men like to reason things out. A plus B equals C, and 1 plus 2 equals 3. And next thing you know, they're in a ditch because they didn't find out what God said. Didn't find out what God wanted. Everybody say the inward anointing. And then number five, that inward anointing helps you overcome the world. 1 John 4, 4. Greater is he that's in you than he that is in the world. Well, Pastor, I don't understand. You're talking about the anointing and the Holy Ghost as if they're the same. Well, they're not the same, but they're connected. I mean, without the Holy Ghost, there is no anointing. The anointing is his presence. The anointing is his smearing, it's his marking. And if you're not strong in that on your side, on your spirit, your spirit and his and the spirit are in there together. Living inside of your body. Okay, and the inward anointing, if it's weak, then the Holy Ghost has a whole lot of static. I mean, it'd be like trying to tune in a radio station. You know, A.M. radio, you leave town, and after you get out about 90, 100 miles, you know, if you're listening on A.M. and you're trying to listen to the Astros, well, it fades. You're going to better find another station. See, that's kind of the way it is. I mean, you can't, you can't hear, or you can't, it's not about hearing a voice, it's about, it's about receiving his communication. Are y'all with me now? So, uh, how many of you want to overcome the world? Amen. So I've got three things here to help

Why The Inward Anointing Comes First

SPEAKER_00

you develop the anointing within. And I want to say this before we get started. The anointing upon, a lot of times people focus on the anointing upon. That's your gifting. That's that's, you know, I've got the gifting on my life. I love the gifting on my life, but I can't live out of that gifting. That gifting is primarily for you and for others. It's not for me. But I've seen preachers try to live off of the anointing upon them. They have meetings where people are healed, they have meetings where people are delivered, uh, they're held in high esteem because of those gifts. And if they're not careful, if they don't maintain the anointing within, they drift over into pride. They quit giving God all the glory for the results, and the next thing you know, they're kind of shriveled up inside, and yet they still have this anointing upon them. I've seen great preachers who had the most amazing anointings, a whole wheelchair. One preacher had a whole wheelchair section, get up and walk. And yet he was drying up. He wasn't walking in love, he didn't handle his money right. He was a glutton, he weighed 400 pounds, he didn't know how to quit eating all day and night, night and day, stuff in his face. He was that, his inward anointing, he wasn't paying any attention. He wasn't developing. He wasn't spending time. See, I've preached all over the world this message to ministers. Don't spend all your time working for God and don't spend any time with God. See, that's that's a ruin, you'll go, you'll go to ruin. You'll either die young, this preacher, 38 years old and had a major car wreck, and God gave him a couple of days to repent and then he died. Did God send the car wreck? No, the devil killed him. Devil took him off at the height of his ministry. Why? Because he ignored what I'm talking about today. The inward anointing. The anointing within you. It's so important that your ministry is pretty much not going to be worth much. You might not say that you won't have some of the results, but I mean it's it's not what God intended. He wants you to love him. He wants this vertical and horizontal God in your neighbor, all that cornea, he wants that active in your life. And then when you get out the anointing upon you, then you can be very effective for a long period of time. Are you with me? Alright, so developing the anointing within. How many of you are interested in knowing how to develop that? See, because you can move from where you are to the next stage. Alright, the first place is Colossians chapter 3.

Let The Word Dwell Richly

SPEAKER_00

And Paul here writing. Verse 16. Let the word of Christ, you let. You can either let or not let. So it's on you. It's on you. It's not about God doing it. You have to do it. You have to let the word of Christ dwell in you barely. Hardly. No, richly. Or abundantly. Let the word of Christ dwell in you. The word of Christ, the anointed one, and all of his anointing. That's his title, the word of his title. In other words, when you let what he did, you focus on how Jesus ministered, you focus on what he said, let the word, and then all the word is the word of Christ. This epistle is the word of Christ because God anointed Paul to write these verses. So let the word of Christ dwell in you abundantly or richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another. In psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. So I want you to see that because it mentions both those anointings in one verse. It's talking about the anointing within, let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, so that when the anointing upon comes on you, you can teach others and admonish others, help others in wisdom, because why? You're filled with the word. You need, see, we're a word and spirit church. Remember, I mean, the word without the spirit, you dry up. And the spirit without the word, you blow up. But when you have it working together, this is exactly what this verse 16 is talking about. You've got the anointing within, and you give, you give great attention to God's word. That means you've got to read it for yourself. You can tell when people read and stay in the word of God, they talk the word all the time. And what you need to do when people come to you for help is give them the word. Give them the word of God. The word of God is already anointed. If you speak the word to somebody's problem, I mean that word can knock a demon right off of their shoulder that's lying to them. Are y'all with me now? Let the word of God dwell in you abundantly. See, be full of the word. John 15, 7. Jesus said, If you abide in me and my words abide in you, you shall ask what you will and shall be done unto you. So shall my Father be glorified, that you bear much fruit. So shall you be my disciples. How many of you want to be a true disciple of the Lord? How many of you want to bear fruit? Well, you can't separate that from the Word. You've got to be filled with the Word. You've got to give people the Word when they need it. They don't need your opinion, they don't need your slobber, you know, oh, poor baby, and all the sympathy. Give them the word. And I'm telling you, the word of God works. But you've got to be uh let it abide in you abundantly. So I'm talking about you know, uh developing that anointing within is based on the word of God. I remember one time I was, hadn't been saved very long, but I was walking along uh before daylight. We were I was a member of the full gospel businessman. We didn't believe in retreats, we had advances, no retreating there. We advance only, full steam ahead. And so I went to a men's advance at the Mole Ranch on the Guadalupe River, and uh walking down the path next to the river, you know, early before daylight. Suddenly, you know, I I I had this grief come up. I couldn't expect I started weeping. I fell to my knees and I just racked and just sobbed, and I didn't know what in the world. I felt so lost, I felt so alone, I felt terrible. And I realized this is not me, this is for somebody. Thank God I had some good teaching when I was fairly young in the Lord. I I sat up to Brother Osteen and others, and he taught me a little bit about intercession. Intercession is when you get between someone and uh and and their trouble and you really take on their trouble.

unknown

That's right.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, I here recently I uh on a Sunday night, my back started hurting real bad. Lower back, it was hurting. I had to sit down, and and and I realized this is intercession. And I got up and I issued an altar call for everybody that's got back trouble. And I mean, the people you know, we had a whole bunch of people came up. I mean, Rosie got, he'd been, he got healed that night. He'd been taking uh Tylenol for a long, long time, and he realized the next day he hadn't had any pain medication, all the pain was gone out of his knee, his leg, his back. Uh and we had another one, uh, Linda Donaldson's not here this morning, but she got she let us know she was instantly healed. And so, what was that? Well, that was the that was the Holy Ghost. See, but I'm talking about letting the Word, see, I I let the Word abide in me, and then the Holy Ghost can use me. So anyway, I got this intercession. So I got this intercession. After about five or seven, ten minutes, I got up, dried my eyes, kept walking. By this time it's daylight. Come across this this man, he's a tall, thin guy, and I introduced myself, you know, and I and I said, Well, where where are you uh where are you from? I and he said, Well, I'm from Utopia. I said, Utopia? That's where my brother lives in Vanderpool. That's uh I had to get you to meet him. He said, I said, What in the world? Uh uh, what are you what are you doing here? He said, Well, you know, I did live in Houston. I had a carpet uh cleaning business, but the Lord uh sent a thunderstorm one night and lightning hit my truck and burned my burned my truck up and uh I lost everything and I had to come back home. I'm working at the post office now. And I said, I said, God didn't, God didn't send that storm. The devil sent that storm. See, see, what what did I give him? I gave him the word, see. But it was set up by that intercession. I know that part. But I was able to give him the word, and I mean it looked like I hit him right in the mouth. I mean, his eyes kind of glazed over, and he got, and he kind of went like this, like I did hit him in the head. And I thought, he's gonna swing at me. I know he's going to. And he started growling. Ugh. And I started kind of putting a little distance there because he's tall and got long arms, and so I didn't want to get too close. And uh he said, Ugh, you're right, just like that. I thought, oh, thank God. But I mean, later that night he got saved and filled with the Holy Ghost. But I gave him the word, but set up by the Holy. Are you all getting into this? All right. Number

Stay Filled By Praying In Tongues

two, see, let the word abide you and uh richly in all wisdom. Number two, Ephesians chapter 5, verse 17. Wherefore be not under unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is. And be not drunk with wine where it is in excess, but be filled with the Spirit. The word be there in the uh Greek means to be being filled, or to be continually and habitually filled with the Holy Ghost. Continually, be continually. See, it's not about just receiving the baptism and speaking in tongues one time at the altar, it's about you continually filling and being refilled and filled again. Why? Because if you if you're anointed and your inward anointing is strong, then your outward anointing is always ready to be used. And when you give out, and when you give out, like when I gave out to that man from Utopia and we had a connection there, when I gave that out, well, I had to be replenished. See, when you give out, rivers, rivers have to come into you. That's another thing about preachers that are always giving out and never receiving back. Because eventually they dry up and that anointing upon them dries up. Are you seeing that? So be continually and habitually filled with the Holy Ghost, number one, speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord. Now hold your place there and go back to Colossians. This is so hilarious. Back to the uh to the right. Colossians 3. We just read that verse. Now this one says, be being filled with the Holy Ghost, speaking to yourself. Right? In Colossians 3.16 says, Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly. In other words, be filled with the word. Speaking and monishing one to another. So see the con, see the, see, being filled with the word, filled with the spirit. They're very much the same. When you're really filled with the word, you're gonna drive you back to being filled with the Holy Ghost. You pray much in other tongues. I can't tell you how important it is for you to be praying in other tongues a significant amount of time every day. I'm just thinking yesterday morning, Gladys had a hair appointment and I followed her, had my hair cut, so I'm waiting on her about 45 minutes, sitting in the lobby. I think God had me leave my telephone at I left my iPhone at home. I had no phone to distract myself and you know what, this is God. I'm gonna just pray the whole time in another. Here, this lady is in there, and I didn't want to pray out loud, so I just kind of put my hand over my eyes, closed my eyes, and just under my breath, I just prayed in tongues for about 45 minutes and edified myself. I strengthened myself. You're getting the benefit of that today because I'm just building myself up on my most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost. Speaking to myself. And when you speak to yourself in tongues, many times you'll lapse over, and I started, I had some songs. I had some little things that I said to myself while I was just under my breath, and I just little rhyming things. I started speaking to myself like that. What was I doing? I was getting filled with the Holy Ghost in the lot in the waiting room of the hairdresser. It doesn't matter where you are, just draw a circle around you and let that be your prayer closet. And so speaking supernaturally. See, then when you speak in other tongues, you're speaking supernatural languages. The Bible says, He that prays an unknown tongue, his spirit prays, but his understanding is unfruitful. You don't always understand what you're praying, but it's a supernatural language that builds you up. Building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, Jude 20. He that prays an unknown tongue edifies himself, 1 Corinthians 14, 4. Edifies means like charge a battery. It means like build on a foundation. I mean, if you want to increase in the anointing within, you need to pray much in other tongues. Because, you know, the habit of always just praying these prayers and our understanding, well, it's it's okay, but what if you prayed the perfect prayer? Why you don't even know what the perfect prayer is. The Bible says in Romans 8.26, we don't know how to pray as we ought, but the Spirit Himself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Sometimes all you can do is kind of sigh. Sometimes all you can do is kind of just, uh, and then go ahead and lapse into tongues for a little while. And I'm telling you, the Holy Ghost is taking hold together with you against this infirmity. Are y'all with me now? Everybody say the anointing within. Alright, and then the next verse it says, giving thanks. You know, be filled with the Holy Ghost giving thanks. You ought to always give thanks. You need to give thanks there. You give thanks all the time, just have a heart of gratitude all the time. You don't have to give thanks for what the devil's doing, but you can give thanks when he's doing it, that you've got an opportunity to expose him as a fraud. Well, you know, ha ha, this symptoms come on me, but glory to God. Ha ha ha. I know I'm healed. Ha ha ha ha. Praise God. Thank God for the blood. I apply the blood, I plead the blood against this thing, and I've got the victory. Glory to God. See, I mean, just have instead of having a pity party, instead of trying to call a prayer line and getting 5,000 people to pray for you. And oh, pray for me. Why don't you, you know, do what, be a doer of the word. Get filled with the Holy Ghost. Flies can't light on a hot stove. Everybody say giving thanks. So there's three things that we need in order to be continually and habitually filled with the Holy Ghost.

Giving Thanks And Submitting To Others

SPEAKER_00

You speak supernatural language to yourself, edify yourself. Number two, give thanks. Number three, submitting one to another in the fear of God. So this talking about the church now. Submitting means not trying to have your way all the time. You know, let somebody else have their way. We all serve on teams. Most of you do. If you have a team like we have the uh, you know, the welcome team, we have gatekeepers, which is our ushers and security, and and you know, Brother Pete, you know, he can listen to your ideas, and and he may or he may like your idea. He might he might say, No, we're not gonna do that, and then you get all huffy. I've had them just get people get huffy because you don't use their idea. Well, you're not being full of the Holy Ghost, you're not submitting yourself one to another. I mean, if it's really God, then God would number one uh give the leader the witness that what you're saying is worthy of doing things. I I once had a young man that was my head usher for a good number of years, and when he first started, he was just flowing in the Holy Ghost. He God would show him things, he would say things, he would anticipate uh left and right. I mean, he was just really a blessing. And then there came a time when he started getting proud and he started, you know, uh walking around like he's cockadoodle-doo, and next thing you know, nothing he had, nothing, no example that he had, no, no advice that he had was worth anything. And he got mad that we wouldn't take his advice on something, and and he he in a huff he resigned by email uh on a Sunday afternoon. That's that's how goofy resigned, and I told Jay, email him back, receive his resignation right now. Don't don't wait. Right now, so I'll receive a resignation. Thank you for everything you've done. Click. And they left the church. Well, fine, after all these years, all the see what happened. Well, he just he went down, he wasn't, he wasn't submitting himself one to another. He wasn't certainly submitting to me. He wasn't submitting to Jay, who was really his uh team leader. Are y'all with me now? So um, submitting yourself one to another. I mean, men, sometimes you need to submit to your wife. Well, I'm the head of this house. He's supposed to submit to me. Well, is Jesus your head or is your flesh your head? Is your golf game your head? Who's your head? See, that's the question. Who's your head? See, most of the time when people start spouting off, I'm the head of the house, they're not, Jesus ain't their head. Because if Jesus was their head, they'd be a little kinder and a little sweeter. And, you know, listen to their wife's thing. They may not quite agree, you know, but we talked about this last week. I won't dwell on it. But let's part of being filled with the Holy Ghost is learning how to not have your way all the time. And to let somebody else have a say in the situation. And then if it's not God, well then you you you you might mean you might agree to disagree, and you can disagree without being disagreeable until agreement comes under the Holy Ghost, and then you can walk forward together. Are you with me now? So uh so let the word of God abide in you abundantly, be continually and habitually filled with the Holy Ghost.

Humility And Honor Maintain The Glow

SPEAKER_00

And then finally, uh Romans chapter 12. Get anything out of this today? How many of you determined that you're gonna grow in the anointing within? Verse 3 For I say, through the grace given unto me to every man that is among you, I guess it means everybody, uh, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think. Don't think of yourself more highly than you ought to think. But to think soberly, uh according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. I mean, you know, the more we, like this young man, he got full of pride because he was the head of this thing and he was using his power and he was getting people, I'll get you that seat, because I'm the head, and uh, you know, and I'll I'll do this for you, and I'll do this for you if you'll do, you know, all this. When I found out that was going on, it wasn't that long. I mean, his days were numbered. What was he doing? He was thinking himself more highly than he ought to think. And let's let's be humble, let's let's realize. That Jesus lives, the Holy Ghost lives in every one of us. 1 Corinthians 11 says that discerning the Lord's body. We need to discern that the body is fitly joined together. And I mean, your neighbor, they might know different things. They may be strong in certain things. They may be weak in certain things that you're strong in, but then maybe they're strong in something that you're weak in. So let's just not do, let's not get too comparative. Let's not start comparing ourselves one to another. Let's compare ourselves to the Lord. And then we all fall short, don't we? I mean, we're just not there. We need a little, we need a lot of help, don't we? So he said here in verse 10. Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love. In honor, preferring one another. Isn't that refreshing? See, that's in the Bible. See, notice the difference from people take highly of themselves. They don't prefer anybody. They think they own, they think when they die, wisdom dies with them. They think they they've got it all wired together. No, they don't. Let's let's not think that way. Let's let's be humble and let's recognize the gift is distributed across the body. One member can't say to the other member, I have no need of you. Jesus is the head, and he cannot say to the feet, I have no need of you. Jesus cannot say he doesn't need the body. So if the body, if you're in the body, then you can't say to another body part, I have no need of you. So it says, verse 10, be kindly affectionate one to another with brotherly love and honor, preferring one another, not slothful in business, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord, rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing instant in prayer. And so when you do that part of it, I like the Moffitt's translation of verse 10, he says, to maintain the glow. Maintain the glow. I mean, there's a glow about a Christian that's that's filled with the Holy Ghost and filled with the Word, has paid attention to the inward anointing, and there is a countenance on that person. There's a glow coming out of them. You can tell, I can tell when people are in distress by just looking at their countenance. And I might not say anything or do anything right now, but if I see that more than a couple of Sundays, I'm gonna probably call you up here and lay my hands on you without knowing anything. I'm not gonna say, well, what's wrong with you? I'm not gonna do that, but the Holy Ghost has alerted me there is something wrong with you because you've lost the glow now. I've seen people that were sitting on the front row lose the glow, and the next thing you know, they're on the back row, and the next thing you know, they're out the door. I mean, they lost the glow. They didn't do this, they didn't maintain the glow. Do you maintain your car? I mean, if you don't maintain it, it'll quit running on you at some point. So, what do you mean? I uh what how how do I maintain the glow? Well, I like what 2 Timothy 1.6, you know, Paul told Timothy his glow, you know, Timothy's glow was going down. He was weeping and crying and embarrassed of Paul's chain. If you really read between the lines, he was a little bit, he's a young man, and people criticize him for his youth. And now that Paul's thrown in prison, it gave these same boobirds a little more way to criticize him. Well, you're hooked up with that jail bird. And so he's weeping and crying. And he said, No, man, you know, he said, stir up the gift that's on the inside. I laid hands on you. You've got the inward anointing. Now stir it up. Stir it up, rekindle the flame. Fan the flame, rekindle the embers. Again, you know, you you you've got to stir up what got what you have on the inside and speak about it, talk about it, thank God about it. And uh and so in 1 Corinthians 14, 4, you know, we already read that, you know, praying in tongues, you edify yourself. Jude 20, you build yourself up on your most holy faith. And so uh, you know, uh make a commitment to yourself and to the Lord that you're gonna, between now and the end of this year, this is a year of first, and I'm I'm convinced that some of you are not gonna get the first, the the year of new, the year of new things. And you're not gonna really possess the new things if you don't give yourself to these things that I'm talking about. The inward anointing is where you're gonna find out what belongs to you. Inward anointing is how you find out what what God wants you to have, and then you can use your faith to receive it. So uh understanding the anointing. Hallelujah.

Closing Prayer And Next Week Focus

SPEAKER_00

Let's lift our hands and receive today. Glory to God. Do you learn anything about the anointing on the inside? How many of you are glad that you're anointed on the inside? Amen. Praise God. So next week we'll talk about the anointing upon, or the outward anointing. Praise God. Thank you, Lord. Let's lift our hands. Father, we thank you this morning. Thank you for the anointing that's here in this service. Thank you for the wonderful uh atmosphere that we have, atmosphere of miracles.
