Anointed With Wisdom | Claire Buntrock
Drawing from Isaiah 9–11, this teaching explores Jesus as the promised Anointed One—the Christ—whose kingdom brings wisdom, peace, and freedom from bondage. The message highlights the Spirit that rests on Christ and is available to believers today: wisdom, understanding, counsel, might, knowledge, and the fear of the Lord. Listeners are encouraged to rely on God’s higher wisdom rather than human insight, trust His faithfulness even when promises seem delayed, and live under the government of Christ that brings true liberty, order, and lasting peace.
But we're going to be talking out of Isaiah 9, a little bit out of 10, and we're going to settle in on 11. So I want to give you some wonderful prophetic insight about what Jesus really did when he came and how he is the anointed one. So first of all, unto us a child is born. Unto us, who is the us? It was the people of God back in the day. And a son is given, and the government shall be upon his shoulder. Everybody say the government. And his name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. And of the increase of his government and peace, there will be no end. And upon the throne of his father David, and over his kingdom to order it and establish it with justice, judgment, and justice from that time forward, even forever, the zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform it. In other words, not your army, not your great wisdom, and your, you know, not the wonderful way you've organized your country of Israel back in that time frame. They did have a strong kingdom at that time. But it wasn't going to be all of that. It was going to be God that was going to establish this throne out of Jesse's uh out of David's, out of David's rule and out of David's reign. And uh, and I spoke about that recently, um, how there was a covenant that that David would never cease to have someone to reign on the throne of Israel for for eternity, that there would be somebody from David's throne that would reign forever and ever. And do you remember we talked about how it looked like that was cut off? It looked like God lied because just a few hundred years later, there was the last king of Israel, and there was a 600-year gap before Jesus was born. And it looked like the tree of Jesse was cut down. And so, um, and it looked like God lied, but no, he didn't. And so, in this, if his name is called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace, let's talk about counselor. Counselor means an advisor, a consultant, a guide. This child that was born, whose government was going to be, the whole government was going to be on his shoulder, this child would be born, and he would have to know, he would have to have wisdom beyond anything anyone had ever seen. And if this child uh turned out to be the Christ, the Son of the Living God, how many of you call yourselves Christians? The Bible says if you call yourself a Christian, if you believe in what Jesus, that he died and rose again, that you are in him, and now his call and his anointing becomes our call and our anointing. In other words, we can participate in this rule and reign that he has, and we can have the wisdom that he was anointed with if we will pray for it, if we will dig in, if we will leave our human wisdom behind, and we will seek after him. And so this scripture, when we say there's a child going to be born and it and the government's gonna be on his shoulder, in Luke 2, 11, that scripture was literally fulfilled. Hundreds of years later, uh, Luke 2, 11 says, There is to you born, in fact, there's an angel appeared to the shepherds. He said, There is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior who is Christ the Lord. Christ, everybody say Christ. All right, so Christ, the word Christ is not just a, it's not Jesus' last name. It's a title that means anointed one. Anointed one. In other words, in the in the Old Testament, before Jesus came, there were three types of people who operated with the special power of God. It was the prophet, the priest, and the king. And everyone else, they might know God's law, they had a certain um command, they could keep God, they could have a relationship with God if they followed all the rules and all the laws and they made all the sacrifices, they could have a relationship with God. But the Spirit of the Lord did not come on them to do anything. Only the prophet, the priest, and the king, and they would be anointed literally with oil. Um, the prophet would pour out oil on the head of someone who would be anointed king, whom God would lead to say, Hey, this the prophet would know, oh, this is the next king, go anoint him. God would often often tell, like and we see that in Samuel. He would go anoint, he anointed Saul, he anointed David king, he poured a horn of oil over him, and that signified, now you're ready for your service. The priest would be anointed with oil. He would be anointed with oil on his toe and on his thumb and on his head, and it would be a symbol that he was now ready for priestly duty. He would not try to undertake a priestly duty without that special blessing, that anointing oil. And uh, and so there was a there was a type and shadow. So Jesus was he was the though, he was the all prophet, priest, and king rolled into one being. He was not an anointed one, he was the Christ, the anointed one. He is the anointed one. So if we are in Christ, we're a new creature. Old things, 2 Corinthians 5.17 said, old things are passed away. Now everything's become new, and we have his anointing if we stay in him. We are, we can function, we can do the things he commands us to do, not in our own strength, but with that anointing. So that was that was fulfilled. Isaiah 9 was fulfilled. Um now, Isaiah 10. We're still in context here because Isaiah is um he's ministering primarily during this time of a of a king. He is he is the he has the ear of King Hezekiah. And King Hezekiah is David's great, great, great, great, great, great, great grandchild who is now ruling on to Hezekiah is ruling on David's throne, and it's going pretty well until there is this other king from Assyria named Senakarib. Probably saying that wrong. Um, and that that Assyrian king comes in and he takes captive many of the cities in Judah. And we're not here to read that whole story, but but Isaiah uh 10, 24 um says, Therefore, thus says the Lord of hosts, O my people who dwell in Zion, do not be afraid of the Assyrian. He shall strike you with a rod and lift up his staff against you in the manner of Egypt. Yes, he's gonna come, he's gonna bother you a lot, it's gonna look really bad. But don't worry, I'm gonna take care of it, because in verse 27 it says, It shall come to pass in that day that his burden will taken be taken away from your shoulder. So, in other words, they had something on their shoulders and it wasn't government, it wasn't anything good, it was slavery. It was the king of Assyria uh taking their stuff and and and subjugating them and keeping them down. And uh and he but God said, I'm going to deal with that. Uh, I will take away that burden and his I'll take the yoke away from your neck, like you were yoked together like oxen for slavery. You had a heavy burden, you had this job to do for this king, and but I'm gonna break that, I'm gonna destroy it. I'm gonna because of the anointing oil. In other words, I've chosen you, I've poured my oil on you. You have a high and holy purpose, and it's not to serve that king. And you don't worry about it because I'm gonna bring this to pass. And of course, that's what Jesus does for us, doesn't he? We are enslaved to sin, we are in a heavy burden, we are in bondage, and uh, but God chooses us, and he says, I've anointed you, and I've called you out of that, and I have something high and holy for you to do. And uh, and you're gonna grow so fat, you're gonna be so nourished under my spirit that you're that yoke is not gonna fit you anymore. It's just gonna blow, it's gonna be destroyed. And um, and because of my anointing, and so we see that Jesus is coming to do that. So he's laying Isaiah's laying the ground root work for all these hundreds of years later, Jesus would come and fulfill all of these things. Then we have Isaiah 11, and I want to camp out here for a minute. It says, There shall come forth, chapter 11, verse 1, there shall come forth a rod from the stem of Jesse, and a branch shall grow out of his roots. So there was literally about a thousand years from the reign of David to Jesus' birth. One thousand years, Claire. You know, I prayed. I prayed, Claire. I've been praying for three months. God told me it would be like this. I mean, the word says I can be this, I can have this. I mean, my it's really uncomfortable, Claire. I've been praying. Where's my answer prayer? It's been a year, it's been two years. Did God lie? A thousand years, but Isaiah saw it. He had that spirit of wisdom that we're talking about. He was anointed with the anointing of a prophet. Now we put ourselves in Jesus, we can know stuff that our brain doesn't know. Because of what Jesus did, if we will work on our perception, if we will pray, if we will just simply ask God, if any man lacks wisdom, James says, let him ask of God who gives liberally and without reproach. Don't let him doubt, though. If he doubts when he asks for wisdom, then he's gonna be like a wave of the and he's gonna be tossed and like the sea, and he's gonna be it, it he's not gonna receive anything from the Lord. But if he has a but if he asks in faith for wisdom, will you say, Lord, I ask for your wisdom tonight? How many of you would say, I need wisdom tonight? I do not know what's gonna happen with our country. I don't know, I don't have in my brain, I can't imagine. I'm I I look at myself, I'm not a great strategist. Are you a great strategist? I mean, some of us have different gifts and everything, but we need more than just human wisdom to win this fight against. I mean, the devil has a plan. He has a plan for your family. The devil has a plan for your family, he has a plan for your marriage. It's not good. He has a plan for your kids. He comes to steal, kill, and to destroy, John 10 says. He comes to steal, kill, and destroy. He's a thief. He's a liar, though. But I have come, Jesus said in John 10, 10. How many of y'all finish this? Finish it. I have come that you might have life and have it more abundantly. God has a bigger plan. He has a better plan. And he had a plan back then. It looked like the devil chopped down the tree of Jesse. Looked like there was nobody coming out, it looked like that tree was dead, and it was a stump, and it was dead for 600 years. Uh, from the last reigning king of Israel until Jesus was born, it was 600 years. So that was 600 years. But it look how the exact the language is. I mean, Isaiah just nails it. There shall come forth a rod from the stem of Jesse, and a branch shall grow out of its roots. So there is a stump, but then a little offshoot comes out, and it's just a tender little branch, it's just a tiny, you know, Jesus is not yet an oak tree here. He could just be bl, he came as a baby. He could have just been cut down. And Herod tried, didn't he? Herod tried. But God had a better plan. God always has a plan. But listen to this: the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him. Everybody say the spirit of the Lord rests upon me. We can have that. We can have that because we are the body of Christ. If the spirit of the Lord rested on Jesus, the spirit of the Lord can rest on his body here on earth. In fact, we have to have his spirit on us to accomplish the things he's called us to do. We can't do it without his help. So here's what that looks like: the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord. Those six different categories of wisdom, those things that only God can do. This is a wonderful prayer. We talk about the prayer out of Ephesians 1, the prayer for spiritual wisdom. This is an Old Testament prayer, but it's relevant right now. Because look what happens when the Spirit of the Lord comes and rests on the anointed one, takes residence there. Listen to it. His delight is in the fear of the Lord. He shall not judge by the sight of his eyes. Have you ever been tempted to look at something and make a judgment call? But you but there was something inside you going, no, it's not right. You need to look a little deeper, go a little farther, ask another question. That's the Spirit of the Lord on the inside of you. If you've prayed for that, if you've asked for wisdom, He's He's leading you on the inside. Adjust your antenna. Don't decide by the sight of your eyes or decide by the hearing of your ears. You know, people have a reputation. You know, you heard this or you heard that, or I heard a rumor about this or that. What does God say? What does his word say about it? Are you listening to this first? This has something to say. It has all the answers. And then all the stuff that's specific, that's not written, you know, down exactly right, that's where the Spirit of the Lord comes in. That's where we need that wisdom. All right, so we're not going to decide by the hearing of the ears, but with righteousness he shall judge the poor. He decides with equity the meek of the earth for the week of the earth. He shall strike the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips, he shall slay the wicked. I, you know, I love that because Jesus is, he is all love, he is all, he is wonderful, he he cares, he loves, but you know what? He hates evil. He hates evil. And so he wants us to get, if we are, we have his spirit upon us, we're gonna hate evil. And uh if he's gonna strike the wicked of the earth with the rod of his mouth, um, are we speaking his words? Are we speaking out against evil? Are we, you know, I'm the cross. You think about a cross, it's a symbol, it's a fitting, awesome symbol. Uh Jesus, that baby Jesus, would someday go to die on that cross to take our place, to take our punishment so that we would never have to bear the burden of our own sin. He would someday die on a cross. And a cross is a great symbol. You know, there are religions of the earth who have different symbols. Many of them use a circle. A circle is just a snake eating its own tail. It is it is infinite, but it's just a closed loop. But a cross is beautiful because it connects it connects heaven to earth, it connects God with man, it has the vertical that is infinite. You know, a cross can go infinitely up and down and sideways and still be the same shape, it can grow. So it has that vertical component, but it has a horizontal component. If we talk about the government shall be on his shoulders, first he's our Lord. We govern, we let him govern our lives. We live our lives according to this Bible first, not according to what other people say or think about us or what there's a law here and we follow it because it's one whole awesome system and it works. And there's a dichotomy, God is love and he's judgment. He's mercy, but he's truth, he's both things, and so that that cross has that vertical component, it has the horizontal component where if we love him, we'll care about other people. If we let him be Lord over our lives, then we will um we we can allow that government, that lordship that works so well in our lives because we practice it. We're not perfect yet. We're growing, we're not we don't, we're not perfect when when we first get saved, our spirit is like a newborn baby, our spirit is innocent and perfect, but our mind needs to be renewed. We will we still have habits from our old ways, we still have things that we have to work our and work out our salvation with fear and trembling, but yet we can still take the law of God that we've applied personally and we can apply it horizontally. That's why it is so important, y'all. I mean, people say politics, politics. Why are you why are you talking about that in church again? Why? We have some friends tonight who are who care about um who care about our civic leaders, who care about the direction of our country. How many of you would put yourself in that category? It matters because it's a horizontal component of the reigning and ruling of Christ, it is a horizontal outflow of the government of his kingdom. There shall be no end. It extends forever, it is infinite, the cross. That horizontal component, we've got to have it. And so his the righteousness shall be the belt of his loins and the faithfulness, and faithfulness the belt of his waist. Faithfulness, he will, if he said it, he will do it. He will bring it to pass. And then it describes the scene where it would be impossible that the wolf would dwell with the lamb, the leopard shall lie down with the young goat, the calf of the young lion, uh and the and and the fatling together. A little child shall lead them. I mean, people would be so sensitive to the things of God that a little kid like this morning in our in our Christmas program could speak the word and somebody would respond, and people, how many people got saved, Pastor Joseph? Ten people. Ten people would respond to the call of God because a little child gave it.
unknown:Amen. Amen.
SPEAKER_00:It's awesome.
unknown:Thank you, God.
SPEAKER_00:But there would be a sensitivity to the things of God. You know, our world doesn't look like this yet. Because then it goes down to describe how, you know, you the nursing child shall play at the cobra's hole. No. No, that doesn't happen yet. We still have to teach our kids that there's evil in this world. We still have to, but there will be a day when this when the knowledge, the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord. Verse 9. Knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea. When that happens, when everybody knows God, there's no evil anymore. God's kingdom comes down. God is coming. He Jesus is coming back again. He came that one time, but he's coming again to establish a kingdom in righteousness where there is no evil. He's put it out. He's destroyed it with the rod of his mouth. And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, who shall stand as a banner to the people, for the Gentiles shall seek him, and his resting place shall be glorious. I'm a Gentile that sought him. And I thank God it broke a pattern in my life. It broke a pattern in my family. I wasn't supposed to know God. The devil had a plan for my family. My family, you know, especially on my mom's side, God bless my mom. She's not here to throw anything at me. Um, but that that side of the family is marked by abuse and addiction and poverty and lack, ignorance. I was right on that. I mean, that was the devil's plan for me. And God plucked me out of that. He destroyed the yoke of bondage in my family forever. We will not wear that. I broke it and I married a man that broke it. We have kids that broke it. We broke that pattern. We will not go back there. God's promise is true. Faithfulness is his belt. Righteousness is his belt. Everything he does is perfect. I do not have to question God. That is not my go-to. I see things that are wrong in the world, but I do not ever question God. Never, never. I question man. I question man being far. You know, light, uh darkness is not uh is not the opposite of light, it's the absence of light. So when we can have the knowledge of God that covers the earth as the sea, we can have more and more and more peace. If we want to hit the government of peace to be no end, let the peace come to you. Let the Prince of Peace be ruling in your life, let it be ruling in your heart, let it go ahead and let it deal with uh unforgiveness, with uh addiction, bad habits, things, tendencies that we, you know, we have tendencies that try to drag us down. Let the government of peace, let the law of God look into the law of liberty. That's an that's a paradox, that's another one of those things. How can there be a law of liberty? Isn't liberty just doing whatever the heck you want to do all the time? No, that's slavery, actually. If you do whatever you want all the time, you will be a slave to sin and your basist instincts. But if you do the law of liberty, you will be free. You will be free. You will have now made yourself instead of a slave to yourself and to your sin, you have made yourself a slave to a righteous and loving God who made the world, who who has restored order through his son Jesus Christ, who has restored the orderly arrangement. Do you know that if the earth were in one little, if it were moved just a tinier closer to the sun, a little bit closer to the sun, it would be so hot it would burn us up. If it we would if the earth were just a little bit farther away from the sun, it would be so freezing that it could not sustain life at all. Um the way our gravitational, I mean gravity. Gravity is ideal right now. If if if it were any uh heavier, it then we would be crushed. Or we'd be floating and flying off into the universe, couldn't stay on the earth. All because the earth rotates and and and revolves around the sun the way it does, it it's a perfect, it's perfect for life. It it's a miracle. It's awesome. God in wisdom created all of these things. We could never imagine it. Don't you think that God knows what's going on in your life? Don't you think he could advise you? Don't you think if you could lean on him that there would be, let's go back to verse 2. If the Spirit of the Lord rests, we should ask the Lord. We should pray and ask him and invite him. Spirit of the Lord, rest on me today. Rest on, we prayed this prayer. We actually prayed this over our city. I got uh uh this is a neat thing. Um, many of you know that the city of Houston 10 years ago um actually persecuted Christian pastors in this city and wanted them to turn in their notes to the city. They the city subpoenaed the note, the pastoral notes because they were paranoid that maybe some pastor would preach again, you know, an anti-LGBT message. Maybe they would actually preach the word that said, you know, male and female, I created them. You know, so maybe they were concerned about that, so they subpoenaed the notes, they they persecuted the pastors, they made an ordinance uh and threatened to pay and almost did pass it, that would have forced churches to hire people that were LGBT, Q plus, IA, whatever. Rainbow Mafia, we would have to have hired that. Oh, you need a new new youth pastor, you can't discriminate. And uh, and it wasn't people said it was a bathroom bill. Yeah, it was a bathroom ordinance. It would have been, it would have opened up the bathrooms. That's bad. But the hiring thing was the worst part. Nobody ever talks about that. That was 10 years ago. But now one of the pastors that was attacked is now on the city council because people in the grassroots have worked. And that man is uh councilman Willie Davis, pastor in councilman Willie Davis, and he is now in city council, and he has the ear of the mayor, and they had so instead of uh persecuting pastors, they invited 300 pastors and fed us the nicest breakfast I've ever seen. It was pretty awesome, and uh, and in that we we actually did pray this this scripture over our city, over our mayor. You can pray it over yourself, that the spirit of the Lord would rest on you, the spirit of wisdom and understanding. So, wisdom, let's just break that out real quick. I will not uh belabor this, but wisdom, shrewdness, and prudence. Wisdom, they say, is applying, knowing how to apply the knowledge that you have. You know stuff, but then what's the best way to apply uh to apply that to get the best outcome? That is that we can do that with our brain, we can do that out of our just our natural experience, or we can step into the higher thoughts of God and say, God, I need your wisdom. It's higher than my wisdom, it's better than my thoughts. As your ways are higher, I'm gonna submit to those. So wisdom, uh, spirit of understanding. There's a scripture in 1 Chronicles 12, 32 that says the children of Issachar, there were there was a certain tribe of Israel, Issachar, when were men that had understanding, same word, understanding of the times to know when Israel, uh what Israel ought to do. And the heads of them were 200, and all their brethren were at their commandment. In other words, these people were smart, they had understanding, so people around them recognized that and put them in charge of stuff. You can have that. Not in your own wisdom, but in God's wisdom. It is so exciting to hear some of the promotions that are happening in the church. I am on cloud nine, and I'm gonna, we have to have another testimony, Sunday, just to tell it all. But you can have wisdom, you can have understanding, counsel. The spirit of counsel is guidance, purpose, and advice. Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the way of sinners, someone, nor sits in the seat of the scornful, but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and his law does he meditate day and night. That man gets counsel from the Lord. How would you like to have God as your advisor? Who made the heart of every human being that you're trying to deal with and you can't figure them out? God made their heart, he knows he can advise you. It might not even be like a like a phrase or like a word that he drops in. How many of you just every now and then you it you've learned to kind of follow a gut, a feeling, and uh, and he'll lead you by the peace or not peace that you have about a certain situation. The peace of God will rule over your heart and mind by Christ Jesus, the word says. All right, so spirit of counsel, uh, and might. So not just knowing stuff, but having the power to do something about it. Might. Warrior, tyrant, powerful, but valiant. Again, the dichotomy, God hates evil. To evil people, he might look like a tyrant, but to those who love him and love his appearing, we uh he is our best friend and he is our mighty warrior and defender on our behalf. There is greater is he that is in us than he that is in the world. And whatever comes against you is coming against not just you, if you are walking in Christ, if you are walked and called according to his purpose, and you have not stepped outside of his will to do your own thing, now that's a dangerous territory. But if you are truly serving in God, under his purpose, you are in Christ, you have his might. Spirit of might, spirit of knowledge, which is perception, being able to figure and skill about certain things. Skill and perception. My husband does not think that I am very perceptive sometimes, but I am tapping into the spirit of perception. In um, in uh, I believe it's Exodus 35. You can look it up. Um, so way back, this is way before David, rewinding all the way till the Israelites just got out of Egypt, and they're they're in the they're in the desert, and they need a they need a tabernacle, a tent to worship God. And that and it has to be a tent because they have to carry it around with them through the desert until they get to the promised land. So they need to build a tent. And it has to have an Ark of the Covenant to carry God's presence, and it has to have these special curtains, and it has to have the and the poles that have to be engraved with pomegranates, and the it's like it's detailed. God gives us very, very specific plan. James talked about that long ago. Very specific plan. And they had to have this um, um, and so it took artisans, and this is the only time I can find in the Old Testament or noticed this before. There were two men. Um let's just turn there and so y'all can believe me. It's Exodus 35, 30. Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus numbers. That way y'all can laugh at me if I'm not pronouncing this right. And Moses said to the children of Israel, see, the Lord has called by name Bezalel, the son of Uri, the son of her, so of the tribe of Judah. So it mattered what family you were from. And he say, I'm from the family of God. You're from the good family, and he has filled him, filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom and understanding, in knowledge and in all matter of workmanship, to design artistic works, to work in gold and silver and bronze and cutting jewels and setting and in carving wood. I mean, he's anointed him and filled him with, filled him with the spirit. Say filled. I mean, that doesn't really happen a lot in the Old Testament. I I don't see that. I see the spirit is upon, upon, upon. Man, these people they knew some stuff, they were good at some stuff. You know, you can today, God doesn't dwell in a tabernacle, he doesn't dwell in a temple. What does he dwell in? Yeah, you specifically, but the people of God collectively. We together are we are the temple. So anything you do to build the kingdom of God, you are building the people that you see on your right and your left and behind you in front of you, and you're building and the people who aren't here yet, or the people who haven't come into the kingdom of God. If you're discipling someone, if you're loving them, if you're helping them learn about Jesus, you are building the kingdom. And that takes every bit as much skill as those people, as Bezalel and Ahaliah, who mentions earlier, later after that, those people were anointed to build something. You're anointed to build something. And it takes understanding, perception. Ooh, how is that person feeling here hearing this right now? What are they? What what hey, have you ever, how many of you have ever uh experienced someone who had a word of knowledge about you? Like there was no way they could have known that, but God seemed to show someone something you were going through, and they were able to pray for you or encourage you in a way that you were like, Whoa, how did that that that is that is the spirit, and it takes things like that to build his kingdom now. All right, so so the spirit of understanding, we got might, we got knowledge, um uh knowledge, per se, okay, knowledge, and the fear of the Lord. That's the final one. And um, the knowledge and the fear of the Lord. That's the spirit that comes on you to reverence God more than anything. When you fear the Lord, you will not care what people think about you because it will not matter to you at all. The fear of the Lord is what matters. If you know that you are walking in the fear of the Lord, you will love people. So you don't want to offend them on purpose, that's not what I'm saying. But but you will be able to serve him first, he is your sovereign. The fear of the Lord. And the in Psalm 111 um verse 10, and also in a couple times in Proverbs, it says, the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. You cannot even have wisdom until you have, until you recognize it all comes from God. There is no wisdom apart from Him. There is no really smart person out there who knows all the answers but doesn't acknowledge God. That does not exist. We can respect people's ideas, we can love them, um, you know, but there they lack true wisdom. They have experience in man's wisdom, and that goes so far, but God's wisdom will always supersede, it will always win, it will always beat that. You know, the and and communists right now, the leftists in our country, they have they have some wisdom. It's man, it's human wisdom based on experience, and it looks like they're really good strategists and they're really good at what they're doing. I know that my God is bigger than that. I know that my God can make a strategy and he can coordinate his people. When the dry bones come together and make an army, it can only be by God. So the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. A good understanding, it continues, a good understanding have all those who do his commandments. But we have to we have to do the commandments, or we won't we won't get the wisdom if we don't do. If we just hear it, if we think about it, if we mentally assent, but we do our own thing, we won't get the wisdom. We only get it when we do the commandments. They're awesome, they're good, they're for our good. All right, I'm I'm gonna I'm gonna have to bring it because we stuck we were stuck in the Old Testament most of the time today, and I want to I want to bring it back. I'm gonna close it with James 3. James 3 describes um God's wisdom versus man's wisdom, and we have this hanging on our wall in our office because it's a wonderful reminder when people get catty, when people get uh at odds with each other, the devil is working. But when there's unity and peace, God's working. The who is wise, verse 13, three third, James 3:13, who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom. But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth. This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, and demonic. Let me tell you, the earthly, sensual, and demonic wisdom exists on both sides of the aisle. It exists uh on both sides of any issue that you might be facing. The devil wants to call us to walk in a lower form of wisdom, and we have to resist that and walk in the higher form of wisdom. For where envy and self-seeking exist, I see a clue right there. We gotta go for our motive now. Oh, gotta deal with that again. Confuse then then confusion and every evil thing are there, but the wisdom that is from above is first pure. In other words, it has a pure motive. It's not it's not about me. I my motive now, if I'm if I have pure, if I'm trying to get wisdom from above, then we gotta be first of pure motive. It's about other people, it's about Jesus about you first, and it's about the people. Then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield. Full not yield on matters of uh not not yield in uh uh to evil. No. But yield your pride a little bit every now and then. Full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy. Don't play favorites and don't be fake.
unknown:That's good.
SPEAKER_00:Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace. And what happens when we sow a seed, we get more of it, right? We want our country to be right. We want our life to be right. We want our family to function right. God help us. Some of us are just trying to fix our own life. Make that run right. It doesn't always look like it's worth, but God didn't lie. It might take a few, make take some little time, but keep applying the word. Keep asking God for his wisdom, and he will keep pouring out on you liberally and without reproach. Amen. Amen.
