Glorious Way Church

The Voice Of Authority | Pastor John Greiner

Pastor John Greiner

In this powerful teaching titled “The Voice of Authority,” the pastor unpacks the believer’s God-given authority to rule and reign with Christ through faith-filled words. Drawing from Psalms, Hebrews, Acts, and Revelation, the message reveals how the church—as kings and priests—is called to speak, decree, and enforce Christ’s victory over spiritual opposition. Emphasizing unity, bold prayer, and the power of the blood of Jesus, this sermon challenges listeners to move beyond passive faith and confidently use their voice as an instrument of heaven, bringing change to their lives, communities, and the world through the authority God has entrusted to His church.

SPEAKER_00:

Let's uh just lift our Bibles up and wave them around, make Jesus glad and the devil mad. Let's say this together. Say, Heavenly Father, thank God for Glorious Way Church. Thank God for the Word of God and the Holy Ghost. I yield myself to the Spirit of God. I believe I receive revelation tonight that will build my faith and cause me to bring forth fruit in the last days. In Jesus' name. Amen. Let's look at a couple of places. First, Psalm 110. And then Hebrews chapter 10. Psalm 110 will start with that one. Verse 1 and then Hebrews 10. Find that while you're flipping through. All right, Psalm 110, verse 1. The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand until I make thine enemies thy footstool. The Lord shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion. Rule thou in the midst of thine enemies. And then over in Hebrews chapter ten. And we'll start reading with verse um verse eleven. And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering, oftentimes the same sacrifices which can never take away sin. But this man, talking about Jesus, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God, from henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool. And so tonight I wanted to share a message, and we're going to study the Bible a little bit together tonight. This message is entitled The Voice of Authority. The Voice of Authority. God expects the church to rule, to rule right in the midst of his enemies. And of course, God's enemies are our enemies. I said, God's enemies are our enemies. And our enemies are his enemies. See, why? Because we're in covenant with him. And here in Hebrews, Jesus expects the church to make his enemies his footstool. You know what a footstool is, is what you rest your feet on. But the Bible says there in Ephesians chapter 6 that, or excuse me, in Ephesians chapter 1 and 2 that all things have been placed under our feet. So we're Jesus' feet. And he expects us to keep the enemy under our feet. He expects that. It's not something that we get a attaboy over. It's something that is required. Which gets back to this ruling and reigning. I mean, I want us, you know, I've been talking a lot about the king's anointing. I've been talking a lot about how kings don't go to bed nervous, about what things, you know, they don't wring their hands, they don't make requests, they don't beg. Kings issue decrees. And they expect a multitude of people to run and bring those decrees to pass. If they don't, there's a sword that goes out, you know. You know, kings don't even really. I know David went to war, but I mean Solomon didn't go to war. Solomon sat on his throne of ivory, had the queen of Sheba come by and slobber all over him. You know, he didn't, he didn't have to go fight. David did all the fighting because David was a man of war, let's face it. I mean, he was used to going to war. He killed the lion and the bear with his bare hands. I mean, he was a mean motor scooter. I mean, man, I mean, you know, he was rough, David. But most kings don't go to war. They just order the troops. They they're they're the commanders in chief, and they've got they've got people that do all that. And uh, and so the church, God expects us. We're the kings, the Lord is the king of. We're the you know, the He's the Lord of Lord, King of Kings, Lord of Lords, Revelation 1, 6. So we're we're kings and priests unto God. We have that. We have a ruling authority, and we have a voice of authority. I wanted to get back to the voice for what we're speaking, what we're saying out of our mouth. And I mentioned this this morning over some of the things that I've learned from ministering over to people, but you know, people that are sick, people that are demonic, you know, have demons and all of that. I mean, I've I've changed the way I minister. I've I'm I'm trying to I want to line up the way I minister up with Jesus. Jesus didn't do any praying, he did his praying in private up on a mountaintop. But when he came back, he didn't pray to God for anybody. He spoke. And since we're in Christ, then we should speak, we should rule right in the midst of our enemies. We should make our enemies his footstool, in other words, under our feet. Because we're seated with him at his right hand, aren't we? And that includes Satan and all of his hordes and all of their weapons and all of their things that they're responsible for putting on people. Sickness and disease, demonic bondages, all this trans. It's just nothing but devils. It's devils. We need to run that out of the medical system. We have to, we have to get rid of every doctor that is allowing that in their practice. We've got to get, we've got to go up into the into the this vast government where these agencies are, and they're still in there trying to undermine what the president is. He set the tone, but man, I mean, he's got a multitude of people that are working cause purposes with him. We're gonna we're we've got a lot to pray over, don't we? We're gonna rule and reign, put all those things under our feet. Our voice is the voice of authority. Everybody said, God gave me a voice of authority. I like what uh brother Ed Dufresne used to say when he would come. He he was the first one I ever heard say this. He said, God's sovereignty is in your mouth. I love that. God's sovereignty. What does he mean? Well, you know, a lot of people, you know, when they're not taught along the lines that I'm teaching tonight, and I know most of you know these things, but I think we can all be refreshed and maybe brought into a deeper understanding of our authority, especially when we have so many enemies that are arrayed against us. There's a lot a lot of enemies arrayed against us, and so if we're not careful, we can just say, well, you know, we one of one of people when when they say when they're overwhelmed and they don't feel like they have control over something, they'll just say, well, you know, God is in control. God's in control. Well, that's a calp out. God's not in control, he's an overall control. He, I mean, he's he's in overall control, but specifically, no, he's not in control. The devil's the God of this world. And he's still the God of this world. He has not been dethroned, he's been defanged. But we have the voice of authority. We have, and we have to rule over him. We have to enforce the terms of his surrender, or otherwise, he is not gonna, he still rules over the over his kingdom. Every lost person is subject to their Lord, the devil. So yeah, it's but we have to learn how to not God's in control. No, not God's in control, but I've got the voice of authority. I can rule and reign over my territory. That that's my body, my mind, my household, my children, my wife, my husband. I can rule over where I work, I can rule in my church, I can watch, I can be a watchman in my church. Something comes in from outside that's trying to create trouble, I can rule over that. Are y'all with me now? Or another another famous way of putting it is uh uh all things happen for a reason. All things happen. Oh, you know, everything. I just believe, you know what I really believe? I believe that everything happens for a reason. So that's supposed to be real spiritual. Let somebody know that how that you really know, you know, the will of God, and and this thing has happened, the car wreck happened to teach me a lesson. Or the, you know, I got cancer and God is teaching me. Cancer happened for a reason. No, it didn't happen. It happened for the reason the devil put it on you. That's what happened. And so we, and I know you know that, you know better than that, but you're you're gonna be confronted with people that don't know what you know, and we have the voice of authority. I mean, you know, let's guess what I was preaching this morning. Let's pray for boldness. Let's stay bold and let's stay full of the Holy Ghost so that we can we can head people off when they start talking wrong in our presence. Well, I don't want to, I don't want to embarrass. Well, you know what? You want to you want to let people talk like that that you know that maybe they're your friends, you know, you are you should use your influence over them and let them know what you know and because what what they are what they're saying is not right. So um the voice of authority, let's look at Hebrews chapter twelve here in verse um let's see, verse eighteen. This is talking about Israel, and and he's talking to Jews, Jewish Christians in the book of Hebrews. He's teaching them. They know they know about the law, they know about Moses, they know about the the covenant that, you know, the Abrahamic covenant. And so he's talking to them, and he said, in verse 18, for you, see, see, because why wow, well, you're born again now, you're no longer Hebrew. That's what I discovered about uh uh Jewish Christians, so-called messianic Jews. I mean, I don't understand that. The Bible says that I, my New Testament, and Paul was a Pharisee of Pharisees, but he he said there's no longer Jew nor Greek, no, no, no more bond or free, no more male or female, but only new creatures. So why are you why are you messianic Jew? What does that have to do with any? So what you're not Jewish? That's I'm a messianic German Irish Heinz 57. It's irrelevant. But what I've seen, and when I got close to these, I've got been close to a few of them, and they they at some point in time they just come unglued. So I've learned to just kind of hold them at bay. I I I don't I don't understand where they're coming from, why they they glorify their physical heritage. I mean, I don't understand that. So he's he's talking to them right here, and he says, you know, you are not come unto the mount that might be burnt and touched and burned with fire, nor unto blackness and darkness and tempest, and the sound of a trumpet and the voice of words, which voice they that heard entreated that the word should not be spoken to them any more. For they could not endure, and then parenthesis, for they could not endure that which was commanded, and it was so much as a as, and if so much as a beast touched the mountain, it shall be stoned or thrust through with a dart. And so terrible was the sight that Moses said, I exceedingly fear and quake. Now what are they talking about? Well, they're talking about Mount Sinai. God was mad at them, and they were being stiff-necked, and the whole mount shook, and his glory appeared up on that mount, and they fled to the other side, and God was so mad at their lack of faith. God wanted them to come near, but they were afraid of God. They didn't want to give up their idols, they didn't want to give up what they really loved, the stuff that they took with them. Now it was the history of Israel. Over and over and over, they rejected God. So God said, Yeah, you better stay over there. You better not come near me. Because you're not, you you, you can't come near me. Why? Because of your lack of faith. You know, the only way to get near to God is faith. Do what he says to do. And they weren't, and they told Moses, go talk to him and whatever he tells us. And so that's when Moses goes up and gets the Ten Commandments. Well, they, you know, and gets the law, brings it back down, has the truth. And they had, what did they do? They had a party while he was gone. So that's what it's talking about. It's talking about that covenant, the old covenant, the one that had bondage, the one that had the fear of God in the terror of God rather than the love of God. And that wasn't God's fault, that was their fault. Are y'all with me now? But verse 22, you are come to a different mount. What mount is that? You've come under Mount Zion, and under the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels. You have come to the general assembly of the firstborn, which are enrolled or written in heaven. And you've come to God, the judge of all. And you've come to the spirits of just men made perfect. And you've come to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant. And you've come to the blood of sprinkling that speaketh better things than that of Abel. What did Abel's blood speak? What was the voice of Abel's blood? Vengeance! Avenge me. I was murdered. No, Jesus' blood speaks has said. Covenant. I paid the whole price. Not guilty. Glory to God. So this description here of all these places is where the church is when we gather together. When we gather together, we're we're at we're not on Mount. We're on Mount Zion. And so we're not at the mount where God was mad. We're not at the mount that was shaking, where Moses said, Man, I I exceedingly fear and quake. I don't know if I want to go back up there. I mean, God's really wound up. He's angry. Unbelief always angers God, but you know, with blood of Jesus, Christ mercy. So, you know, we get we get a reprieve. So the where the church is when we gather together, these, all of these, these in in verse 24, that's these are the voices of authority. It's the voice of the blood of Jesus. Blood of Jesus has a voice. What does it say? Mercy, has it? The voice of the mediator of our covenant, the voice of Jesus. He's our mediator. There's one mediator between man and God and man, the man Christ Jesus. He's the propitiation for all our sins. That has a voice. He has a voice. It has a voice. The church has a voice, the voice of authority, the voice of the blood of Jesus, the voice of the mediator of our covenant, the voice of the saints on the other side. They wish they could be down here. They're missing the party. Wait a minute, they're in heaven. Yeah, but they want to be part of something. They want to be part of what we're doing. They didn't get to see what we're seeing. They didn't get to see what we're seeing. The voice of God, the judge of all. Sometimes, you know, when I when I begin to pray, I'll release judgment. I have to be careful because, you know, if I do that, I can't do it in my anger. I can't do it in my emotion. I have to do it as the voice of authority that comes with my office that I can speak. I mean, that's what happened with with uh with Paul. He said, uh, you enemy of you you child of the devil, you enemy of the gospel, uh, behold, you shall be blind, not seeing the sun for a season. He he was holding the deputy away from the faith. The deputy wanted to get saved, and he was there trying to bewitch him. And so he issued forth judgment. He didn't kill him, he punished him. And this guy had to bar Jesus. He had to have people lead him away by the hand. He was totally blind. For a season. Well, we don't know how long the season was. Was it a month, a year, a week? We don't know, but the man of God issued forth judgment. Peter, when Ananias and Sapphira came and lied about an offering, they said, Yeah, we gave, we gave the whole thing. We sold property for this amount of money and gave the whole thing in the offering. And he said, How did you, how did you come up with that? You lying. You're not lying to me, you're lying to the Holy Ghost. And what happened to them? They dropped dead. What was that? Judgment. We don't talk a lot about that, but that's where we are right now. Judgment is about to fall. I mean, some of these people that have been shaking their fist at the church and shaking Their fist at Jesus and is spitting on law enforcement officers and hot and cursing and swearing and nasty words. I mean, these mothers, I mean, how what kind of children are they gonna raise when mother goes out there and uses all kind of filthy language against lawful authority? Some of them are gonna drop dead. It won't be tear gas. And it won't be getting slapped upside the head, it won't be getting tased, it's gonna do it. Are y'all with me now? Verse 23, the church of the firstborn, the ecclesia, which is the governmental side of the church. Ecclesia. This is the ruling and reigning. Talking about the voice of authority tonight. And I believe everything that we're involved with with my God votes and everything we're involved with in Harris County and Houston and everything we're involved with across the country, that when we pray in these power hour pluses on Sunday nights again, I just I just I see it fitting in together that we're gonna be praying with one voice. Hold your place right there and go back to Acts chapter 4. Remember when the disciples were called on the carpet for using the name of Jesus? And uh the man, the paralyzed man that everybody knew was healed, and he went walking and leaping and praising God, and and uh and five thousand men got saved that day. Peter preached, and and five thousand men got saved, and so boy, I mean, they they did not like it. And they said, well, that a notable miracle has happened. We can't speak against it, but we need to tell these people to quit teaching and preaching in that name. And so they warned them, don't you, don't you do that anymore. And uh that it spread no further among the people. Let's let's let's forbid them, let's command them that they not speak or teach in that name. And so they uh threatened them and they let them go, and and then they called a prayer meeting. Verse 23, and being let go, they went to their own company and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said unto them, and when they heard that, they lifted up their voice. They lifted up their voice unto God. That's a that's a big group of people, and they spoke and prayed with one voice. Are y'all getting a hold of this now? How could that possibly be? I mean, if we're praying, you're praying back there on the back row, and I'm praying up here with a microphone, and we're all praying at the same time. I'm praying in my known language, and maybe I'll lapse over in the Holy Ghost every now and then, and then you're praying in your known language. I mean, you know, we could be praying a whole bunch of different things. We're not praying with one voice, we're praying with voices. And those voices may not be the voice of authority. You might be praying for something. You might be, well, you know, I think we ought to pray for uh Joe Biden. He's real ill. I'm gonna pray for Joe Biden. Well, I don't pray for Joe Biden. I really don't ever pray about him. I never pray for him. Well, you mean you don't pray? No, I don't. No, I didn't tell me to pray for him. I pray for my president. But anyway, I never prayed for Obama. In fact, I got to the place, I gave Obama a few months, and the God said, quit praying for him. He's a fraud. Don't pray for him. God told me not to pray for him. And the Bible says to pray for those that are elected. Well, he he he lied to get elected. He he was a fraud. I mean, you know, people are too religious. They just take the word and they just take it and they well, just pray for the people. No, I'm not praying for these goofballed Democrats. I'm not praying for them one day. I'm not gonna pray for them. I'm gonna pray for the people that stand up for God. Uh-oh, I'm into it now. So they lifted up their voice unto God. Everybody say the voice of authority. So, you know, the leader of the meeting, it shit, it says what they prayed, what they prayed, what Peter prayed. When they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God. Now I've heard preachers say this different ways. It could be that they all prayed in tongues, and this was the interpretation of their voice. Because when you pray in tongues in this church, we are in one place and one accord, and we have love plus unity equals miracles. It means that the church, the ecclesia, then, is able to release a voice that goes up to heaven with one accord. And God begins to dispatch, the angels are dispatched. And we've practiced in that. We've practiced in that over many, many years. I mean, we do that on Thursday night as a as a matter of course. That's what happens on Thursday night prayer. It's been happening for 30 years plus. But it also happened during power hour plus. We began to get into things, and and you know, I may be praying in English, but if you're praying in tongues, we're still praying with one voice. It's the voice of what authority? And that authority is got behind it power. You should receive power, dunamis, which is ability, efficiency, and might. And it has the kind of power to destroy demonic forces that are trying to work against whatever it is that you're praying about. Are y'all with me now? All right, let's keep going here. So when the church got together, they prayed in the voice of authority, and that voice was the blood of Jesus, the blood of the meet of the Jesus, our mediator of the covenant, uh, the saints on the other side, the God who is the judge of all, the voice of God, the judge of all, the voice of the church of the firstborn, the ecclesia. Uh, the angels are listening, worshipers around the throne are listening. Uh, the city of the living God. Whew! Glory to God. You talk about a voice of authority. And then this last one, I want to go back to Psalm 110. I want you to see see this here. Because I I picked this up. Psalm 110, we started with that. And let's go back and look at it again. Because this is another voice of who we're praying with. Melchizedek was a type of Christ. So I want you to see this. Psalm 110. The Lord said unto my God, Lord. So the Lord, that word Lord, there in verse 1, the first Lord, there's two Lords in my King James. Lord said to my Lord. So the Lord there is Jehovah, covenant-keeping God. Said unto my Lord, which was really a part of that, is really Jesus. It's it's talking to Jesus. Adonai. So Jehovah says to Jesus, Sit thou at my right hand until I make thine enemies thy footstool. It's a prophetic prayer. It's what's going to happen when Jesus dies on the cross and raises from the dead and is seated at the right end of the Father. This is what happens right here. The Lord, that's Jehovah again, shall send the rod of thy strength, talking to Jesus, out of where? Zion, the church. Rule thou in the midst of thine enemies. Y'all begin to pick up on this. See, this is God, this is what God's wanting the church to do. God wants the church to rule and to reign as kings in this life. Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power and the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning. Thou shalt have the dew of thy youth. The Lord hath sworn and will not repent. Thou art a priest forever after the order of Melchizedek. That is God the Father talking to Jesus, and you're a priest forever after the order of Melchizedek. Now, Melchizedek was a mysterious priest. He had no beginning, he had no ending. He was just one time in the Bible, and Abraham gave him tithes. So Jesus is not after the order of Aaron. He's not after the order of the high priest of the Jews because that was uh that was a different order. He was after the order of Milchizigad. He was a he was a one of a kind, and he was a holder of the finances. He's the Lord of the tithe. Are y'all getting this now? So the voice of authority has to do with the financial area. Has to do with the financial area. The Lord has sworn and will not repent. You're a priest forever, after the order of Melchizedek. The Lord at thy right hand shall strike through kings in the days of his wrath. He shall judge among the heathen. He shall fill the places with the dead bodies. He shall wound the heads over many countries. He shall drink of the brook in the way. Therefore shall he lift up the head. Who's the head? Jesus is the head. Look at this description of who Jesus is. We haven't preached this. We haven't even acted on it. We've acted religious. We've acted like we've got to be so, you know, merciful to these gosh-awful people that are doing evil things. Pastor, are you saying we should kill people? No, I'm just saying that Jesus, when we pray correctly, Jesus is going to release judgment through the church, through this voice of authority. We might not have any conscious knowledge of what it is that we're praying. Just like the church, when they started praying for Peter to get broke out of jail, what happened? Well, you know, God sent an angel and broke Peter out of jail. James was killed, murdered. But Peter got broke out of jail and went back. And a few weeks later, you know, Herod was sitting on, giving a, you know, in Caesarea Philippi. He went to Caesarea, gave an oration, and they said, Man, it's a voice of a God and not of man. He had a voice that sounded so, it's it was the devil. The devil has a voice. The devil has a kingly voice. He's ruling and reigning. He's the God of this age. And he spoke. There's people that are speaking these sorceries and this wickedness, and they have that authority. We have got to answer that with the authority that we have. Are y'all getting anything out of this? I feel like I'm maybe you're going to pick up some rocks and stone me. I don't know. I'm getting us ready to rule and reign over some things that need to be, they need to be prayed out and spoken out. And we can't be afraid that we're doing things that we shouldn't do. So he's talking about Melchizedek, and Melchizedek is what? A type of Christ. I don't think you could be too far away from it if you said he was Christ in his pre-incarnate form. Because we know that Jesus appeared to Abraham, told him you're going to have a baby. You called him an angel. Are y'all y'all are looking at me, man, whoa, I don't know. God can do anything but lie. What if Michizagh is one and the same? Well, you know, it didn't, it's really irrelevant whether he really was or not. He is a type of Christ. And as the type of Christ, he did what? Receive tithes. And was the Lord of them. Are you with me now? So everybody say the voice of finances. I'm telling you, I just believe when we get in this realm of the voice of authority that we've we're going to see God back us up, angelic hosts be sent forth from this place like they have been for 30 years. And we're going to see more results. I mean, I just think, you know, this past year, we just got a couple of weeks left in the in the year. It's a year of milestones, but I believe the milestones are going to spill over into the next 2026. We're going to see some great things if we'll just stay on course and not be embarrassed about the authority that God gave us. God, Jesus said, all authority in heaven and earth is given unto me. Go ye therefore. He gave us that authority. And we have a voice. I like what Brother Mark says. You know, your voice is your address in the spirit realm. This church has an address in the spirit realm that when it speaks with one voice, things happen that God wants to happen. Are y'all following along here now? So let's look at Revelation. Just about done. I just want to. Oh, I want you to get this. I want I want to rein reinforce you and strengthen you and put steel in your spines. That when you when you speak and decree, that you individually, each individual has that voice of authority in your role in your world. Now you don't get to rule and reign over other things that are outside your world, but you've got a domain. That's your how your body, your mind, your marriage, your household, your children, all of those things, that's where you absolutely you've got the voice of authority. But when we come together now, oh my goodness. Revelation 12, verse 11. And they overcame him, talking about the devil. The church overcame the devil by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony, and they loved not their lives unto the death. In other words, they weren't out doing their own thing. They were not throwing stones at people they dislike. That's not what this is about. This is about ruling over the devil and demon powers. It's ruling over the spirit of Antichrist, is trying to accelerate his influence, and we've got to hold him at bay until Jesus comes. We can't let him get ahead of schedule. God has put that in our in our in 2 Thessalonians chapter 1. We're to restrain, we're the restraining power of the Spirit of Antichrist. Therefore, rejoice, you heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabitors of the earth and the seas, for the devil has come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth his time is short. So yeah, he's mad. He's mad about it, but there's not a thing he can do about it. We're going to rule and reign on this earth. We have the voice of authority. We're going to release that judgment over these things as the Spirit wills. It was God started talking to me about this after 9-11. I didn't know much about it. I never heard it preached. I never heard it taught. I had to really study about the apostolic. I had to study about that flow and what it was for. And it's for ruling. It's a kingly anointing. It's an anointing that decrees. And we're not just pie in the sky. We're taking what God reveals in his word along with what the Holy Ghost gives us in our hearts. And we're ruling and reeling. We're binding the spirit of Antichrist. We're overcoming the devil. We overcome and we rule over our enemy. We overcome the accuser of the brethren. The voice of the blood, and the voice of what the blood did, and what the blood is doing. And all the voices in Hebrews 12 converge by faith into our voice when we begin to speak together as one. We have the voice of authority. Come on, lift your hands tonight. Hallelujah. Thank God for the voice of authority. Lord, we're not going to we're not going to pull back. We're not going to doubt. We're not going to be like the children of Israel who fled that mount that was on fire. But we're going to have that fire on the inside of us. That fire of glory is abiding on the inside of us. And we have no fear. Hallelujah. Did you get anything out of this tonight? Well, come on, let's just lift our hands. Lord, we thank you. We thank you for the confidence that you have in the church, what you're doing for us. Glory be to God. Thank you for it, Lord. What a mighty God we serve. Hallelujah.
