Commanding Your Breakthrough | Pastor John Greiner
In this episode, “Commanding Your Breakthrough,” the speaker teaches that believers aren’t meant to live as victims, but to reign as kings through Christ—decreeing God’s Word with authority until circumstances shift. Using David’s “Lord of the Breakthrough” moment (1 Chronicles 14) and the promise to “reign in life” (Romans 5:17), he explains that opposition often shows up right when God is advancing you, but breakthrough comes when you pray, stay filled with the Holy Spirit, and maintain your seat of authority. With vivid examples—“commanding the morning,” refusing defeat, and testimonies of protection—he challenges listeners to stop begging, start decreeing, and unleash faith-filled words like a rushing flood that drives back the enemy and establishes victory before the battle ever begins.
Up our Bibles and wave them around, make Jesus glad and the devil mad. Say this together. Say, Heavenly Father, I'm so glad for this day to be in this place. I'm at the right place, at the right time, with the right folks, and I'm worshiping my God. He's made a way for me beyond what I ever dreamed. And I give you praise and glory for it. In Jesus' name. Amen. You can be seated. And uh glad our group that's uh on live stream is with us today. Let's turn in our Bibles. We've got a couple of places. 1 Chronicles 14. And while you're hunting that one up, find uh Romans chapter 5, and we will get into the word together. 1 Chronicles 14 verse 8. And when the Palestinians heard, no, Philistine, when the Philistines heard, same thing, when they heard that David was anointed king over all Israel, all the Philistines went up to seek David. How many of you know they didn't seek to have a meeting with him in the White House? They were seeking David. And David heard of it and went out against them. And the Philistines came and spread themselves in the valley of Rephi. And David inquired of God, saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines? And wilt thou deliver them into my hand? And the Lord said unto him, Go up, for I will deliver them into your hand. So they came up to Baal Perazal, and David smote them there. And then David said, God hath broken in upon mine enemies by my hand, like the breaking forth of waters. Therefore they called the name of that place Baal Peresim. My margin says a place of breaches, but another name for Baal Peresim is the Lord of the breakthrough. Alright, and then in Romans chapter 5, you might hold your place there in Chronicles, because we'll come back and refer to it. Romans chapter 5, verse 17. For if by one man's offense, talking about Adam, if one man's offense, death reign by one, much more, everybody shout, much more. Shall they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ. They'll reign in life. I like the amplified. They shall reign as kings in life by the man, Jesus Christ. Reign as kings. And so today, referring back to the first verse about the Lord of the breakthrough, I want to share a message entitled Commanding Your Breakthrough. Commanding Your Breakthrough. You know, after seven and a half years, David became king over all of Israel. You know the story. It's 16 or so. Samuel, the prophet Samuel came to Jesse's house, David's dad, and all his brothers were lined up. The first brother looked like a king. He looked fantastic. Samuel thought, okay, this is the one. And God said, no, he ain't. And he went down the line to six sons, one by one. This is not him. This is not him. You got any more sons? Yeah, I got the runt. He's out in the back 40. He's watching my sheep for me. Get him. And when he came, you know, God spoke to Samuel's heart. Samuel the prophet. He said, Surely the Lord's anointing is before you. So he poured the horn of oil on him. And he was anointed way out in advance of his day of fulfillment. And then, you know, we know the story, he killed Goliath. And Saul, the king, became jealous of him, and Saul the king became and had already been rejected, which is why Samuel had to anoint a new king. He said, Why come you crying over this Saul? I've rejected him. But he was still king, even though he'd been rejected. You know, some some folks have just already, they're already, you know, Biden never was even chosen. He was illegally elected. I think you know that, don't you? They cheated. We've known it all along, and it's coming out. Praise God. Everything hidden comes to the light. We've spent a lot of years praying over all this, haven't we? And our prayers, our prayers avail much. And we're not the only ones praying, but I'm telling you, we did pray. So anyway, so it finally came, and you know, God, you know, it was there was twice at least that David had a chance to kill Saul. Saul was chasing him trying to kill him. He would have, you know, it really wouldn't have been wrong of him, but he would not touch God's anointed, even though he wasn't anointed anymore. As far as David was concerned, that was none of his business. He's still a king and he cannot touch him and he won't. And he didn't. But he did die in battle, him and Jonathan the same day. And then, you know, of course, they anointed King David king, but only over Judah and Benjamin. So he didn't have the whole twelve tribes. He just had two for seven and a half years. So it was not a fulfillment. It wasn't a full fulfillment of God's intention and plan because there was war and the house of Saul and the house of David were at war. And the house of Saul waxed weaker and weaker, and the house of David waxed stronger and stronger until finally Joab said, okay, I'm throwing in the towel. Let's make you king. You're obviously the one. And uh, and so they they made him king. And so uh the full manifestation of his anointing occurred, and the Philistines opposed him. The Philistines heard about it and wouldn't put up with it. I'm telling you that the devil doesn't want your milestone to occur. He's lining up everything he can line up. But thank God we've got authority. You know, years ago, I mean, I in the first early years of the church, I was preaching and I'm, you know, I'm I've got messages of my own, and I, and I, and finally, you know, one week I was preparing, you know, and and uh I was thinking in my head, you know, what do I, what do I share now? It seems like I've just emptied myself out, you know. And he said, you know, what you need to do is to teach your people what you take for granted. See, I'm trying to high, I'm trying to find some high and lofty thing that nobody's ever heard, and what you need is what I've taken for granted. What I've sat under for years. I mean, I'm so thankful for the men and women I've sat under receiving the kind of teaching I've received. I've got a two big old file cabinets full of messages that God gave me. Uh, and it's like gold. It's like I can go in those file cabinets and I can find just about any kind of message that has to do with just any kind of anything you can think of. It's not about me coming up with something because God's already put it in me. And that's what I labor to do. I want to put this into you so that you can live your life as a king reigning over the circumstances of the other way around. So David heard about it. It's that thing about when you walk in the anointing, the Holy Ghost will cause you to know things. As pastor of this church, I know things. Sometimes the Holy Ghost tells me direct, and sometimes he uses my kids to tell me, and sometimes he uses my grandkids to tell me, and sometimes he uses my staff to tell me, and sometimes he uses some of you to tell me. I know things that are going on. God causes me to know it. I'm not gonna go through life allowing the devil to do things and cause trouble and me not be proactive about it. So I mean, when the Philistines showed up in his territory, uh David knew it and he started inquiring, okay, what's the plan, God? He didn't presume. He said, What's your plan? Is it is do I need to go out against them? Will you will you give them into my hand? Yeah, sure will. So he knew it was God's plan. He said, Go up, go up, I will deliver them into your hand. And then in the NLT in verse 11, it says, God did it. He used me to burst through my enemies like a raging flood. I love that. I like that. See, it was God that did it. David didn't take credit. David's mighty men didn't take credit. God did it. He burst through my enemies by, you know, like a raging flood. And it reminds me of Isaiah 59. Hold your place there in 1 Chronicles. Run over to Isaiah 59. And, you know, I've heard this preached for years wrong. And uh, you know, I'm here to correct misconceptions. Isaiah 59. 19. I'm gonna read it in the King James, and and and the King James is a poor translation of what that verse says, okay? Oh, you know, that's why I like to read in LT, Passion. I like to get, I got to get other uh translations because these guys that translated it, I mean, the Bible is true, all right, the Greek and the Hebrew, but the guys that translated it from that into English, I mean, sometimes English just doesn't have the right words, especially Old English. Old English words, I mean, they're they're they're they're not quite descriptive enough. When you've got a Greek, the Greek language is more sophisticated than English, and the Greek language of the day had nuances that English words don't have. So let me read to you what the King James tells and tell you my problem with it. I had to I had to study this out. So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west and his glory from the rising of the sun? When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him. Well, that's not true. That's not what happened. Uh the enemy didn't come in like a flood. It didn't. So put it up there with the uh put it up there. Did I write it down? Uh the NLT. The NLT says, So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west and his glory from the rising of the sun. And then this last thing about the enemy coming in like a flood. It says, He, and it's not talking about the enemy, God. It's talking about God. The subject is God. God will come like a raging flood tide driven by the breath of the Lord. Actually, it's not even talking about God, it's really talking about Jesus back up all the way up to verse 16. And this is God, this is Isaiah. God's talking through Isaiah to Israel. And he says, He saw, God saw that there was no man and wondered that there was no intercessor. Therefore, his arm brought salvation unto him, and his righteousness it sustained him. For he put on righteousness as a breastplate and as a helmet of salvation upon his head, and he put on the garments of vengeance for clothing and was clad with zeal as a cloak. That is a prophecy about Jesus Christ. It's talking about Jesus coming in like a raging flood tide. And who is Jesus? Jesus is the word of God. Jesus is the word in your mouth coming against your enemy like a raging mighty flood. Come on, lift your hand right now. It just changes the whole thing. Oh, when the enemy comes in like a flood. No, he doesn't. He thinks he's a flood. We're gonna drown him. We're gonna hit him in the face with a fire hose. Are y'all with me now? He will come in like a raging flood tide driven by the breath of the Lord. Hallelujah. And so we're not victims, but we're victors. We're kings. You know, Romans 5.17, we reign in life as kings. Reign in as kings in this life. Revelation 1.6, Jesus, it says there that John got a hold of our true status. You know, he didn't preach in Christ much. That was Paul's revelation, the in Christ revelation, through Christ, with Christ. But John got a hold of it. They all heard what Paul said. Peter heard it too. They preached it. And he said that Jesus made us kings and priests unto God. Everybody say, I'm a king. I'm a priest. See, that's your status. I mean, when you got born again, you moved out of being a slave into being a king. And the Bible has all these types and shadows of that. Just think, think about uh, you know, how Joseph was in the prison at the bottom of the prison, just doing menial things. He moved in one day, he moved from the prison to the palace. And he was second only to Pharaoh. See, that's a picture of where we were. We were in prison. We were locked up under the heel of the devil. But when we got born again, we were moved up into the palace. Now we're anointed as kings. You don't think the devil's gonna, you know, take this laying down. He's gonna oppose you with everything he's got, but it's still not enough. I said it's not enough. Sure, he opposes you, but when he does, we he come, we come against him, we speak God's word to the circumstance. God's word in our mouth comes like a raging flood driven by the Holy Ghost. And we command our breakthrough as kings. You know, kings don't ask for permission. Kings don't whine, kings don't cry, kings don't wish things were different. Kings decree and people stumble over themselves to execute what they say. I mean, he's got a whole army of people sitting there waiting for the king to just say something and then they're rushing out the door to do it. Are y'all with me now? That's the kind of power we've got. That's the kind of authority we have. Let's look at Ephesians chapter 1. We talk about this a lot, but I want to look at it again with you because it bears on our victory and our milestone that are coming. It's not going to just fall on your head. The devil's not just going to stand around waiting for you to be blessed. He's going to oppose everything. He's going to try to knock the wheels off your wagon. He's going to try to delay or destroy what's on its way to you. But Ephesians chapter 1 starts, you know, Paul again having this revelation of who we are in Christ, uh, writes this prayer for the Ephesian church that we pray. Brother Marcus preached on this, I've preached on this all these 30-some odd years. I preached on these Holy Ghost prayers. Where did you learn it? I learned it from Brother Osteen, Brother Hagin. I learned it, you know, as soon as I got me. When I got saved, I started delving into the things that I didn't get in the Catholic Church. I I realized that I was raised in church, all right, but I didn't know squat about anything. And so I became a willing, obedient student. And when I started learning about what I've got, I don't have to beg God. I don't have to wonder, whoa, God, please do something about this. No, I'm going to do something about it. But Ephesians 1:16, you know, he said, I cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers. And what is he praying? He's praying that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation and the knowledge of him, the eyes of your understanding be enlightened or be flooded with light, that you may know what is the hope of his calling, and what is the riches of the glory of his inheritance and the saints. And, this is the part I want to get to, what is the exceeding greatness of his power toward us who believe? And what kind of power is that? It's according to the power, the working of his mighty power, which he wrought in Christ, when he displayed and demonstrated when he raised Christ from the dead and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places. And if you keep reading into chapter 2, and you, talking about the believer, hath he made alive, hath he quickened, and hath seated. That same resurrection power is the power by which you were saved. And he wants us to know and be enlightened about this great and mighty power which he's given us. Because why he loves us? You know, if you're going to be a king, you've got to have some power. You can't be a puppet, you can't be a paper tiger, you can't be sitting on a throne and not have an army. Are you kidding me? You're sitting on a throne with a crown on your head, and you're, you've got your know your rod and all that, and you don't have anybody that can back your word up. No. David had a whole army back him up. Besides that, he had God to back him up. You've got, you've got, see, we're on God's side, so that therefore he's on our side. God has a side. Let's get on his side. That's why David prayed. Should I go out against him or not? See, he knew better than to go out without prayer. When you read your Bible and you know your Bible, that's what happened to Joshua. I mean, you know, he had a great victory over Jericho. He was so glad for that victory. It was a mighty victory, greatest fortified city in the known world at that time, and they defeated it. I mean, they just they just cleaned it up, cleaned it up. And so the next city on the list is AI. Oh, AI is nothing. Joshua, you don't even, you don't even need to send everybody. Just send a few guys out there. That'll be all. And they got beat. Why? Because they didn't pray. And then so after they got destroyed, they sent the few out there and they got destroyed. And he he he slobbers and he, oh God, what a well, you've got sin in the camp, you idiot. You should have prayed. That's why you got defeated and you never prayed. You gotta pray. You gotta know what the God's plan is. I mean, otherwise, you're not on his side. Are y'all with me now? Unless the Lord builds a house, they labor in vain that build it. Didn't say they wouldn't build it, it said they labored in vain. You can accomplish some things without God, but they're not worth anything. They're vain. But when you have a prayer life and when you when you realize what part of your prayer life is praying this prayer so that after about six months of praying that every day, I mean you're that God's gonna open some things to you out of the word to where you're gonna see some things in your own life where you maybe didn't rule and reign like a king. Maybe you were too uh late to the party, so to speak. Maybe you let a train wreck occur. It's kind of hard to clean the train wreck up after the thing's off the rails. How much, how much of our time is spent weeping over catastrophe that we didn't, if we'd have been in prayer, we would have seen coming and we would have, we would have had the word out there fighting for us ahead of time. I know I'm the only one that's ever had that happen. Praise God. Rest of y'all are y'all on the ball. I know you are, you're on the ball. So the church needs revelation of how great this resurrection power was. I mean, listen, uh this power that God used to raise Christ from the dead was opposed by every principality, power, might, and dominion, and the devil himself, and to no avail. And they can oppose you too, but to no avail. When you really know who you are in Christ, what you have in Christ, this great authority and dunamis, this supernatural power that goes with the word coming out of your mouth. Woo! Glory to God. There's no defeat. There's only victory. I said, There's no defeat, there's only victory. Come on, let's lift our hands. Thank God for his victory. Hallelujah. He said, All things are under our feet. You keep reading in that, he says, He put everything under our feet. That is a picture of victory. That's that, you know, when you tread your enemy under. I use this example. I've been using it for years, ever since I was watching the evening news back in the 80s when, you know, we invaded Iraq to put down Saddam Hussein. And that was a stupid war. I mean, it was for no. Now we look back on it and we realize it was all for wrong reasons. We we thought they had nuclear weapons. They didn't have any. We had all we had a broken intelligence. Our intelligence was aimed more uh inside politically than it was uh taking uh stock of our enemies abroad. Now we're seeing the CIA and the FBI have got egg all over their faces. I mean, that's the deep state, man, and they've been turned against us. Instead of paying attention to our enemies abroad and knowing what's going on, like Israel. Israel knows. Israel knows what's going on in the enemy's land that are surrounded. They've got their agents living as Iranians in Iran, in Tehran. They join up and they they just say, I'm gonna give my life, I'm gonna live as an Iranian Muslim. They look like Muslims and that they don't, they're not, they're spies. And if they didn't have that, they wouldn't have known all about that, that they that America was able to go in there and and help them destroy all those nuclear sites. We forgot about that, didn't we? That just happened in April last year. I mean, this year, April of this year. I mean, we've had we've seen some amazing victories this year. Once that we start pulling the covers back and getting rid of this rot that's in our FBI and our CIA, get rid of those guys. They're not they're not patriots, they're political operatives. We need to get rid of them. And they're going, I'm telling you, they're going one by one. So anyway, this there was nothing the devil could do to stop it. And so, anyway, I was watching the evening, get back to my story, watching the evening news, and there was a uh a picture of Saddam Hussein's brother. He was dressed in a military uniform, had a you know a hat and a bunch of medals on his. I don't know what he'd ever done, but he had medals. That's all these guys, they hang medals across their chest. They're so chicken they wouldn't fight anybody. They're cowards. They're cowards. They're all that's what they have in condom. They run. All the enemies of Israel ran away from them. They couldn't, they couldn't stand in battle against Israel. Neither can these fools. But, you know, if you just let them go and you don't do anything about it, well, they can they can do a lot of damage. So anyway, here's this brother, and they've got these poor people, and they're on their hands and knees, bowing their faces toward the ground, just wanting mercy. And he's walking up and down, you know, strutting like a cockadoodle do. He's got his boots on, and he comes up to this poor man, and he's trembling on the newsreel. I'm watching on the newsreel. And this and Saddam Hussein's brother, he he lifts his right foot and he puts it on top of the guy's head and shoves his head right down in the dirt. His face is in the dirt. And when I and I when I saw that, the Holy Ghost said, Yeah, that's your authority. That's what you do to the devil. You shove his face in the dirt. I was I was busy feeling sorry for the guy, and by the way, he got a bullet in the head. He shot every one of them. This guy shot every one of them. He didn't survive very much longer either, because he didn't survive just like Saddam Hussein didn't survive. And the devil's not going to survive. He's going to get thrown into the lake of fire that burns fire and burn. He's going to go in the bottomless pit for a thousand years, and then after that, he's going to get the final thing. Are y'all with me now? All right. So everything is under our feet. So we ought to command our breakthrough. Everybody say, I'm commanding. And that's pretty much what kings do. Command. They command. No power can withstand the raging flood coming out of your mouth. So I looked up the word command. And let me give you a few. I didn't write everything down, it was just went on and on. But I wrote some really good ones down out of the Webster's 1828 dictionary. Command means to instruct. Dictate. Are you dictating? Exercise authority. Master and conquer. Control. Give orders to. Demand so as to receive what is due. Woo! Glory to God. To rule, to decree, to supervise, to keep watch, to manage, to administrate, to regulate. Isn't that powerful? Look at how broad the word command is. Command is just you're in charge. And look, as believers, you know, when we're not in charge, who is in charge? There's a power vacuum. The devil will always look for open doors. That's what he's looking for. He's looking for any way in. And where can he find a place where you're not in charge? Where you haven't commanded, where you haven't demanded, where you haven't decreed, where you haven't released the word of God like a rushing torrent. Are y'all with me now? It's really up to us. Really, not up to God. It's up to us. Because he's already given us his authority. So command your breakthrough. And I've got three things that I want to give you today. So the first thing is in Ephesians 5.18, be not drunk with wine where it's an excess, but be being filled with the Spirit. Be filled with the Spirit. The word be is be being filled. Be continually and habitually filled with the Holy Ghost. I don't know how many times that phrase, be filled with the Holy Ghost, is in my messages, but it's a constant theme. I mean, you really are not designed as Christians to live without being filled and continually and habitually filled with the Holy Ghost. You're not designed to have victory any other way. There's no other way to have victory unless you are filled with the Holy Ghost. Because if you're not, then you are not going to have the power you need. Jesus said, you shall receive power after the Holy Ghost has come upon you. Well, Pastor, I had that 40 years ago. Yeah, but are you staying full or you or you do you leak out? And if you've leaked out, then you no longer have it. The power's not there. Just because you wish it was. I mean, you might have a gun, there's no ammo in there. If the gun is unloaded, what good is it? About all you can do is maybe throw edge at your enemy. You can throw the gun at them. You can, if it's a rifle, you could maybe try to hit them with a rifle butt or stab them with a bayonet. But if there's no ammo, you're gonna have to be real close to them. Are y'all with me now? In 1 Chronicles 14, 8. See, that's that David is a type of Christ, type in shadow. When you read about David, you're reading about a prefiguring of Christ, the king. And you know, he wasn't a perfect man. That's that's not what I'm talking about, but there are things there that prefigure and predict the way Christ is, and that's who we are, because we're in him. And what did he do? He he inquired what's the plan, God? First of all, he knew that the Palestinians had arrayed themselves, or the Philistines. He Knew they were there. So that's a function of the Holy Ghost. You know, the Holy Ghost will alert you. And so we need to be filled with the Holy Ghost. And uh many seeming tragedies can be averted when we're informed ahead of time, and that's the function of being filled with the Holy Ghost. I mean, when you're filled with the Holy Ghost, is the enforcement person of the Godhead. There's Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. He's the enforcement. He's in us to enforce the terms of the Satan's total surrender. I like to put it this way, like the Godfather movie. Don't be so innocent. You've never watched The Godfather. I've watched The Godfather many times. I find it, yeah, it's got some iffy things in it, but it's a picture of our authority. And so Tom Hayden, who's the lawyer for the family, gets captured by one of their enemies, and you say, Oh, don't worry, Tom, I'm not going to kill you. If I wanted you dead, you'd be dead already. Tom, I know you're not in the muscle end of the family. See, the Holy Ghost is in the muscle end of the family, and he lives on the inside of us. He lives on the inside of us. We're the enforcement. He's the enforcer. Are y'all with me now? So be continually and eventually filled with the Holy Ghost. And so, you know, a lot of seeming tragedies could be averted when we're formed ahead of time, which means the second thing is maintain your seat of authority. I mean, don't take vacations from your seat of authority. You have a seat of authority that you have been, you've been seated together with Christ in heavenly places. If you're filled with the Holy Ghost, then the Holy Ghost's business is to make you aware of your domain. You're ruling and reigning in your domain. What's your domain? Well, your household. Well, first of all, your body. And and your household, you're if you're married and have a family and men, you're ruling over your wife and children. I'm not saying ruling over them, but ruling over their lives and protecting them. There's not a day goes by that I still don't pray over my kids and my grandkids. I stretch out my rod. I maintain my seat of authority. And I know my kids are doing the same thing for their kids. But with so they're double covered. But a lot of seeming tragedies could be averted if people would realize that they need to maintain their seat of authority. Why? Well, because in 1 Peter 5.8, you know, Peter said, Be sober, be vigilant. For your adversary, the devil, goeth about, walketh about. He walks because he can't ride. He's too broke to have a car. Walketh about, seeking whom he may devour. Whom resists steadfast in the faith. How do you resist him? Well, stay three or four steps ahead of him, for one thing. I mean, take all the wind out of his sails first thing in the morning. Well, Pastor, I'm not a morning person. I do my pregnant night. Well, that's great, but you know what? You live the whole life during the day. I mean, if I were you, I'd take a little time in the morning. In fact, let's turn over to Job. How many of you are guilty of just skipping the book of Job? And you don't ever read it because it's just, you know, Job's friends are hard to read, you know. But there's some really good stuff in Job. Let me read a couple of them to you. Job 30. Job, Job chapter 38. This is God talking to Job. The Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind, and look at what he told Job in verse 12. Have you commanded the morning since your days and caused the dayspring to know his place? That it might take hold of the ends of the earth, that the wicked might be shaken out of it? Think about taking uh, you know, if you if you wash your own car, part of washing your car is cleaning the interior, so what do you have to do? Well, the floor mats. I mean, you know, man, if you get in and out of your car, everything that's that you walk through gets deposited right there uh on the floor of your car right in front of the gas pedal, and it's just it's just filled with dirt. So you you take your you take your floor mat out, you know, and you take it out and you go and you shake it like that. I mean, you can vacuum it, but you're not gonna get all the dirt out of it. You can shake it like that. You know, in the morning, you you command your day, you you begin to issue forth what your decrees are over your family and over your health and all of that, and you begin to shake the wickedness out. Uh you take the ends of the earth and shake the wickedness out of your way. Oh, come on, lift your hand right now. Glory to God. God said that's how to that's how to rule and reign. You might then you might convacu and do some good. But until then it's going to be embedded. If it's embedded in the fabric of that, unless you have rubber mats. It's a little easier to clean rubber than it is carpet. Are you with me now? Let's look another one in Job. Uh Job 22, 28, it says, You shall decree a thing and it shall be established unto you. See, a lot of prayer of asking God this and asking God that and begging God to do this and begging God to do something about your problem is just vanity. It's waste of time. He's given you authority, he's given you a crown, you are a king. Uh, your angels are standing at attention, waiting for you to speak God's word out of your mouth so they can act on it. Give them something to work with. First thing in the morning. And cover your family. You mean there's not going to be any evil happening? I didn't say that, but it won't prosper. It won't have lasting effect. Are you with me now? I mean, you know, set the tone for the day and let the devil know you're awake. I'm awake now. I slept during the night, but uh, I'm awake now. And I'm paying attention, buddy. See, part of commanding is vigilance. Part of commanding is managing and being awake, keeping watch. You getting anything out of this today? Everybody say, I'm commanding my breakthrough. See, a breakthrough is not your milestone not just going to happen. It's not going to fall out of heaven on top of your head. You're going to have something to do with it. And then the last one, of course, Romans 5.17. You know, reign as a king in this life. Don't wait for life to come to you. Reign over it. Decree and declare the victory. You know, I think about a couple of things. I was a week ago, yesterday, a week ago, yesterday, I mentioned it last week, but the Aggies were behind 30 to 3 against South Carolina at halftime. It was, it was, they looked terrible. I mean, the quarterback didn't look good. Our best guys, I mean, our best receiver dropped a touchdown pass right in the end zone, hit him right in the breadbasket, dropped it, and on and on. And nobody was playing right. And uh I and the cameramen, they didn't, I don't know, I wish they would do a better job of showing the sideline. I wanted to see what how they were taking it, because they looked terrible. And uh, you know, you've heard me preach about you can tell body language. You know, you you know you've got a team beat when when the team is out being outscored, they stand around like this and ready for the next play and just kind of lazily get down. They you know you're gonna beat them with 30 to 3 at the half. I mean, they looked horrible. And they're the third-ranked team in the country. They're number three, undefeated. And last week it looked like they were headed for defeat. So they came from behind and won 31 to 30. And so they're asking the coach. I mean, they are all over the news. I mean, they're the subject of all the sports shows. They're talking about the Aggies now, finally, in positive terms, for the first time in decades. Uh, usually they're the laughing stock, honestly, like the Texans. And uh and so they're kind of the laughing stock. But not now. Oh man. And so their quarterback is a young man from East Texas, and he's he's a Tisman trophy candidate, sophomore. And he didn't look like that in the first half. He was terrible. So I wanted to see: is he sitting on the sideline with a towel over his head? I saw I saw a young man that was having a game like that, and he sat on the sideline with a towel over his head, see, feeling sorry for himself. I'm defeated. See, you know he's he's not gonna recover. And they took him out of the game. The coach had sense enough. He gave up on himself. Let's put the scrub in, because he's gone. He's done. So he put him, he, you know, he just basically had a towel over his head, just all defeated. So, anyway, they interviewed the coach and said, What did you say to these guys at the halftime? What was that halftime speech? You must have really said. He said, Well, I'll be honest with you, I didn't say very much at all. I didn't have to. He said, This game was not won in the third and fourth quarter. This game was won six months ago. This game was won when we installed a culture on this team. The culture on this team is they hold each other accountable. And on the sideline, I heard, you know, the quarterback come up and say, Come on, guys, this is not us. We're not playing our football. This is not how we play. Come on, let's play our brand of football. Come on. Come on, let's go. They never gave up on themselves at 30 to 3. They came in the halftime and they talked about how they were going to win. They did not have their heads hanging down. They didn't, they weren't down on themselves. They didn't get defeated just because they didn't perform well. They just redoubled their effort. They got back in the game, and you could, it's just like two totally different teams. But what got me was this game was not won in the third and fourth quarter. This game was won six months ago. Your game is won every day of your life when you command the breakthrough. Come on, lift your hands right now. Glory to God. A couple of years ago, our granddaughter Thea, you've heard the story. Some of you might not have heard it, but she was coming home from school, driving east on 2920, up uh, you know, and just west of Tombaugh, and uh coming home from school, turning into her subdivision, a big line of cars at four o'clock in the afternoon, just lined up, and she's it's a five-lane road, two lanes, and she's in the the fifth lane is a turn lane, middle lane. And there's no light, and so she's waiting to turn left across two lines of traffic. Well, the inside lane next to her lane that she's in is backed all the way as far as you can see, mile down the road. So a lady paused and let her in and waved her across the road. And and so she turned, but she didn't see in the inside lane a young man in a pickup truck driving way too fast, and he broadsided Thea and her little car and just wiped it out. And uh so when EMS was called, they came upon the scene, and Thea was just waking up and was exhibiting, he said, signs of traumatic brain injury. So he immediately called Lifelight. Lifelight came, and by that time, James and Claire got the phone call from the police officer. It was just amazing. How could there be somebody that was knowledgeable enough to be right on the scene right then? And by the way, if she had been riding as a passenger in her car and her brother had been driving, she would have gone to heaven because that was crushed all the way over to her shoulder. But anyway, she she woke up with these traumatic brain injury symptoms, and so he called Lifelight, and they they took her off and flew her to the medical center, and and so by the time uh James and Claire got the message, well, they're on their way too. And they actually saw Lifelight over 290 uh taking her. They actually saw that. So I got the call. She's been in a car wreck, no detail. And we started praying in the Holy Ghost, and I said, not as bad as it looks. Wow, well, because I'd prayed earlier that morning. I I covered my grandkids, I cover my kids. They do the same. This victory didn't happen after the accident. It happened before the accident. It happened the week before the accident, it happened the year before the accident, it happened the day that child was born, and it happened when they found out that child was on its way in the womb. It happened then. Are y'all with me now? It's not what you're doing in emergency tongues, it's what you've been doing all along. You've been commanding the blessing, you've been commanding the breakthrough. Five hours later, I mean, I mean, she now Thea knew in in the helicopter she was fine. She knew, oh, Mom, I'm fine. I'm just fine. They released her five hours later with a band-aid over a little cut in her head and a and a tylenol. That was it. There was no brain injury. There was nothing. Well, when when what we don't have to know that, we just know we had the victory before it ever happened. Are y'all with me now? Glory to God. Glory to God. So release faith-filled words. Put pressure on the word. You see, it's the word of God. It's not us, it's the word. We when we release the word out of our mouth, it's all on the word to come to pass. God said, My word does not come back to me void. It will always prosper. My word will prosper in the thing whereto it is sent. Glory to God. Put pressure on the word. Just start to lift your voice. Say, God has broken forth upon my enemies by my hand as a rushing torrent. Yeah, you've got a hand in it, but it's God that does it. So command the breakthrough. Come on, lift your hands and receive the word today. Hallelujah.
