Supernatural Increase | Roadmap To Kingdom Wealth 5 | Jay & Selena Greiner
A practical, faith-forward close to a five-week money series, this message frames “supernatural increase” as stewardship and heart posture: God owns it all, we’re managers, and prosperity funds the harvest (Deut 8:18). Jay and Selena emphasize a willing, obedient heart (Isa 1:19), choosing covenant over comfort like Moses (Heb 11:24-26), delighting in God’s Word (Ps 1), and refusing worry by seeking the Kingdom first (Luke 12—birds and lilies). Putting God first means treating tithing as identity—not an occasional act—and growing in generosity beyond the tithe, with Zacchaeus vs. the rich young ruler illustrating that God targets the heart, not an amount. The pastor adds candid testimony about intense financial pressure, urging listeners to renew their minds, drop shame from past mistakes, reject a victim mindset, and commit to honor (tithe) and love (offerings). The service culminates with laying on of hands to impart an anointing for supernatural increase and a fresh resolve to fund the Great Commission.
Let's just go before the Lord in prayer before we get started, talking about biblical uh finances here and uh and supernatural increase tonight. And uh say, why don't you say hello? Hello, my wife Selena. Hello. I'm Jay.
SPEAKER_02:How many of y'all are excited that this is the last, not excited, but bittersweet. It's been a good five weeks of um learning about budgeting and uh income and stopping the leaks, and God has a lot to say about prosperity and um the blessings that come from the Lord, and so it's been a joy, it's been an honor. Uh I love doing the breakout groups with you guys. It's um always fun to get everybody's perspective and everybody has a story. Um, and it's important to share your testimony and your story with those around you because it it builds faith. And uh so it's been a joy and an honor, and I love it.
SPEAKER_00:Amen. So for our live stream audience, welcome. And uh, what we really were doing, we were killing time so that all the people out in the lobby could make it in. Thank y'all. They were stuffing their faces, but tonight was Olive Garden, so you just had to be here. If you weren't, you missed out. But now that we've fed our faces, now we're gonna feed our spirits. So let's go before the Lord in prayer real fast. Let's bow our heads. Father, we're just so grateful and thankful for the anointing that's here. Lord, we thank you uh for supernatural utterance, Lord, that that Selena and I speak exactly what needs to be said, that we communicate your heart uh with perfection. And so, Father, I just thank you that you're in us, both to will and to do for your good pleasure. And so we're learning things that we need to learn in order to go up to the next level in you and the next level in our finances. And Lord, uh, that we know that you own it all and that you have all of our hearts. And Jesus, you are Lord of all. That means you're Lord of every single area of our life. And Lord, you're uh Lord of every dollar that we have, and every dollar that we'll ever have, it belongs to you already. And so, Father, we just thank you that we live in your blessing, we live in your abundance, and there is no lack. In Jesus' name, amen. Amen. So we're talking tonight about supernatural increase, and so let's identify together, uh, both, you know, through the preaching and and the uh illumination of the Holy Spirit through his words, some barriers that are holding us back or slowing us down in order for reaching the next level. And uh, you know, old Roberts in that video when we started this series, uh, he was so serious about getting the reason why we're getting out of debt is so that we have flexibility to obey God in every area of our life. But when we're weighted down with with debt, you just can't do exactly what God called you to do because you, you know, you're on a payment plan, you've got to figure out you know, the debt snowball and getting out of debt. And so uh and so let's have that freedom. Let's let's have let's let's have a heart for supernatural increase, let's have faith, set our faith for supernatural increase and know really tonight the reason why the financial freedom is through realizing that that God already owns it all. Amen. That's the freedom that we live in. And so um that we're just stewards of what he's given us. And so uh number one is just having a willing and obedient heart.
SPEAKER_02:Amen. Yeah, that's good. Um, I have a couple of scriptures under number one, Isaiah 119 says, if ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land. And so um, you know, God doesn't put the doesn't swap that verse where you should eat the good of the land, you know. Um that doesn't come before the willing and obedient. God uh values willingness and obedience, uh, both, and he wants us um to eat the good of the land, he wants us to be prosperous. And so at that time, the king of Judah was um in moral and spiritual decay. Uh they offered up sacrifices and um there was just junk in the land, um, festivals, all the things, but what God was wanting uh was a pure heart, uh, not a heart that was far away from him. And so God wants us to be willing and obedient, uh both go hand in hand. Um, and then we'll see the goodness in the land. And Hebrews, in our scriptures, Hebrews 11, 24 through 26 in the New Living Translation. It says, uh, it was by faith that Moses, when he grew up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter. He chose to share the oppression of God's people instead of enjoying the fleeting pleasures of sin. He thought it was better to suffer for the sake of Christ than to own the treasures of Egypt. For he was looking ahead to his great reward. Everybody say, looking ahead. Looking ahead. So he was looking ahead. And so the enemy sometimes wants us to get stuck in the now. If you're going through things, he wants you to be stuck, he just wants you to look at what's going on right now or even your past failures. And so Moses was looking ahead for the great reward. He, you know, he had prestige, he had honor, he had, he had wealth, he had all the things. But I like that this scripture said he esteemed the reproach of Jesus Christ greater than all of those riches, right? Greater than all of those riches. And so a lot of times some people are more interested in money than what God thinks. And so we want to make uh sure that we keep our heart right. We want to make sure, you know, that's an example of hey, you can have all of the things. Uh, and yes, we this is old covenant. We have uh a new covenant. In Jesus, in him, we have everything that we need. When we walk in him, when we are in Christ, we we have all of the blessings, but it's conditional, it's up to us. We have to be willing and obedient. And so obedience leads to blessings in our lives. You know, uh we focus so much on the blessings, but a lot of times we're like, hey, are we obedient? Are we where are in our life? Are we where are we around the right people? Uh are we at the right place at the right time with the right people? You know, we use that slogan, but it really is detrimental to our health and the well-being of our life.
SPEAKER_00:And our mindset.
SPEAKER_02:In our mindset, and so it's so important um that we esteem the things of God, that we esteem, um, you know, it's again, it's not wrong to have money, but but you don't want money to have you, right? And so we just have to keep the main thing, the main thing, um, in our everyday life. One other scripture, Psalm 1, 1 through 3 in the New King James says, Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful, but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in his law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither, and whatever he does shall prosper. And so God wants us to prosper. God wants us to be blessed, you know, not to esteem the things of this earth more than him, the one who created it all, anyways. And so so many of the times we can put emphasis on the things. And yes, God wants us to have the stuff. Yeah, how many of y'all like stuff, right? We like the pretty things, we like the shoes, we we like all the things, and so it's it's it's not gonna break God's bank for you to have nice shoes, for you to drive something nice. You need some in Houston that's not gonna break down. Amen. And so it's yeah, and so God wants you to be prosperous, God wants you to be blessed, but there's an order to things, and um, and so we want we have to make sure that we're that our heart is willing and obedient, that we take all of what we learned. What good is it if we all these five weeks we we learned all the, and it's good to learn all of uh the different incomes and and budgeting, but if our heart is still far from God, if our heart isn't open and willing, because willingness is a desire to please God, right? It's not a it's not a okay, uh obedience, yeah, it's the act, but you can have the act without the willingness. But God wants both. God wants a desire to um to to bring you into the fullness of what Christ has done for us. And there's so much that He has done for us and and through Jesus that we have yet to tap into it. You know, there's more, there's more, and and the more we learn, the more we dig into the word, the more we're um just a surrendered heart towards him. Uh he'll show us. Uh he'll he'll show you the the concepts, the insights, the he'll give you fresh revelation of what are my next steps in life.
SPEAKER_00:Amen. You know, uh having a heart for supernatural increase, it just requires cultivating your heart, heart like a garden. You know, and I, you know, um we don't grow fruits and vegetables in a garden, but Selena does a whole lot of roses.
SPEAKER_02:I got like five of them.
SPEAKER_00:But she does a lot with roses, and I see all of her efforts, but all of our neighbors just are very impressed. Anytime we go for a walk in the neighborhood and we get to talk to our neighbors, they're always impressed by all of her roses, and it's just incredible. But it takes work. She's out there working on it and trimming them back, and that's the same thing in your heart. You're cultivating a thankful heart, a grateful heart. You're getting out the weeds, you're getting out bitterness, you're getting out envy and jealousy, and you're getting rid of those things, and you're cultivating a grateful heart that's turned towards God. And so uh we just talked about having a willing and obedient heart. And number two is having a heart free from worry. So uh Pastor's gonna come up here in a little bit and preach to us tonight as well. But I just, if you've missed his last four messages on locking out the doubt, that was so important, so powerful, every single one of them built on the on the previous message. And so if you missed any of those, you want to go back and and feed on that. And so having a heart free of worry, and uh uh reading out of Luke 12, starting at verse 22, and I'm gonna read out of the New American Standard uh 1995 edition, and just uh it I think the title for this was The Source of Real Financial Security. So it's found right here, and it says in verse 22, do not worry, this is Jesus talking, do not worry about your life as to what you will eat, nor what your uh nor for your body as to what you will put on, for life is more than food, and the body more than clothing. And before we go on, I want to include that the word life in the Greek means the essence of life. And it's really talking about your mind, your mind, will, your intellect, your emotions, uh what you think your dream life is. That's really called the essence of life, right? And that's not it's not Zoe, it's not the Zoe life, it's just the essence of life. That's what Jesus Jesus is referring to. And so um your life, the essence of life is way more than food or or or clothing for our body. Verse 24, consider the ravens. Look at the birds. You know, I just preached a message about legacy on on uh on Sunday night, the power of impartation. And I was talking about uh Ed Dufresne. I was using some examples from his life, and uh that was one of them. Look at the birds, you know. He had preached that this message. And so um, you know, I just encourage you if you're if you're going through something, go outside early in the morning and look at the birds while you're praying. It really gives perspective to this scripture. For they are neither they neither sow nor reap, uh, they have no storeroom, no barn, and yet God feeds them. How much more valuable you are than the birds. Amen. Verse 25, and which of you by worrying can add a single hour to his lifespan? If then you cannot do even a very little thing, why do you worry about other matters? Consider the lilies. Now we're considering the lilies, how they grow, they neither toil nor spin. But I tell you, uh not even Solomon in all his glory clothe himself like one of these. Just think about how beautiful lilies are, right? Uh verse twenty-eight. But if God so clothes the grass of the field which is alive today and tomorrow is uh thrown into the furnace, how much more will he clothe you, you men of little faith? And do not seek what you will eat or what you will drink, and do not keep worrying, for all these things the nations of the world eagerly seek, but your father knows that you need these things. He already knows what you have need of. Amen. And so, in fact, he wants to meet that need so much more greater than even you know your needs, right? He knows exactly what you need better than you know what you need. And so, verse 31, uh, but seek his kingdom and these things will be added to you. So we're gonna seek his kingdom first, amen. Uh, do not be afraid, verse 32. Uh, for your father has chosen gladly to give you the kingdom. And then in verse 33, sell your possessions and give uh to charity, make yourselves uh money belts which you do that which do not wear out. Does that mean we're gonna have fanny packs in heaven? I don't I don't know about that. I I guess I'll wear one if it's if it's required. If God says, I'll do it. But it'll take God telling me and providing it. I'm just playing. An unfailing treasure in heaven, where no thief comes nor moth destroys, for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. So Jesus is saying, is telling us to stop worrying about money, stop worrying about finances, stop worrying about where this is going to come from, because all everything we need uh comes from heaven, the father of lights, right? And uh that's the world's behavior is to worry. So remember that you have a father who knows what you need, like I said already, better than even you do. And he knows uh that our happiness will never come out of what we possess, right? Your happiness is never going to come out of that new car, that new house. That's just that's temporary. But instead, our happiness, our joy comes from serving him, from from from pouring into people, from sharing uh your testimony. And and and great peace and joy and fulfillment will accompany our lives when we turn our attention toward God's love and his care for us. Because what, you know, what do we say around here all the time? God takes care of us in grand style. Amen. So uh, you know, Jesus is coming back soon, so we need to be ready to give an account for all of the way we've, you know, we're we're stewards of what's been given to us. And you're gonna give an account for what you've done to, you know, how you've given, your generosity, your your character. You're gonna give an account for that, of how you sowed into his uh harvest. And you need to be able to do that without shame, without regret. Pastor's gonna be talking more about that here in a little bit. Uh, but but you don't want to be come to judgment day and have shame and regret for for uh the way you've wasted all of the things that God gave you. Amen. Amen. And then our last point is um having a heart that puts God first. And uh Luke 19, it says, uh when Jesus when Jesus came to the place, he looked up and said to him, This is Zacchaeus, the story of Zacchaeus, hurry and come down, for today I must stay at your house. I always thought it was just, you know, Zacchaeus was a wee little man, and a wee little man was he. That's what they taught me in children's church. I thought that that was the significance, just that he was a short man, but no, he was a rich tax collector, right? And so uh Jesus said, uh, you know, hey, I must stay at your house today, verse verse six. And he hurried and he came down and received Jesus gladly. And when they saw it, they all began to grumble, saying, He has gone to be the guest of a man who is a sinner. They were all judgmental against Jesus, right? And Zacchaeus stopped and said to the Lord, Behold, Lord, half of my possessions I will give to the poor, and if I have defrauded anyone of anything, I will give back four times as much. And Jesus said to him, Today, salvation has come to this house, because he too is a son of Abraham. For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost. And so again, Zacchaeus was a rich tax collector. And so, what do you think was the difference between the rich young ruler and Zacchaeus? I don't know if you caught that, but Zacchaeus was willing to give half of his possessions away, and that was enough. And and Jesus was happy at that. But the rich young ruler, Jesus demanded all of the rich, and and he was unable and and left depressed, that left sad, right? And didn't didn't give. And the difference was their hearts that Zacchaeus, uh, his heart did not require altering. But uh the rich young ruler, his heart uh needed lots of help, right? And so um, you know, sometimes we focus when we read these stories, we're focusing on the amount, or you're focusing on just all I owe God is 10%, and um, and you look at it like you're paying a bill or something, and some people like want to argue that tithing has gone away with. No, it's definitely in the New Testament, it still exists. Uh, but if you get over all of that and just realize, like I said, we both said earlier, that God uh owns it all, right? Settle in your heart today that God owns it all, and that Jesus really is Lord of all. So if He's Lord of all, he's Lord of every dollar your hand will ever touch. He's Lord of every single dollar that's ever been or will ever be in your bank account, right? And so, or in your investment account or whatever account. And so allow Jesus, you know, allow the Holy Spirit to lead you and guide you in your generosity and throughout your giving, you know, going back to some of the things that we talked about, you know, stopping the leaks, finding the leaks, allowing the Holy Spirit to just be in charge of everything that you spend and know that he owns it all and that all of it, you know, and and and that he wants to meet every single need that you have. And so if you've walked in here in a desperate situation, know that when you put God first, he has to obey his word. When you seek him first, he has he's a uh a man of his word. He knows exactly what he's doing, he will not go back on his word, and he's here to bless us, he's here to pour out the windows of heaven, a blessing that you cannot contain because you put him first. You're you've got seed in the ground, you're a tither and you're a giver, and you know that no matter what scheme that and or what strategy the devil is is is aimed at you, that you're an overcomer. Amen. Amen.
SPEAKER_02:That's good. That's good. We're going back to verse seven. Do we have a couple more minutes?
SPEAKER_00:Yes, we do.
SPEAKER_02:Um, I like, you know, yeah, the the story of Zacchaeus. I always think of children's church for those of y'all who work in children's church. I mean, we love telling the story of Zacchaeus, but in verse seven, you know, I love that Jesus, I love Jesus, and just he was just a rule breaker, right? He um what people well, verse seven, when they saw it, they all began to grumble, saying, He has gone to the guest of a man who is a sinner. You know, and and sometimes, you know, when I read that, I just think of barriers that we put up in our lives, you know, like so what? You know, maybe God is gonna use somebody in your life who doesn't know Jesus yet. That's right. But Jesus, like, hey, I'm gonna go to his house anyway. You can grumble, you can be judgy all you want, but there's something at his house, right? There's salvation there. There, and and so God used him. God used a man who wasn't perfect, who nobody wanted to be around. He was a tax collector. And so sometimes we put walls up in our life and and we have these barriers. God didn't put them there. Who put them there? Us, right? Our preconceived ideas. Oh, I can't, you know, I I can't be prosperous like that. I can't, I can't have that house and on that land. Why not? You want the world to have it? You know, like we put these barriers and we put the and and God's just saying, hey, if you just allow me um to to tear down those walls and and um just like the story of Zacchaeus, you know, invite me in. Don't don't have these preconceived ideas where you know um God won't use that person and God won't look at look at that sinner and look at what they've done. No, God doesn't see people like that, he sees through that, right? And he sees what can be. We look at what is right now with a person, but God sees what can be, right? And so that's the way we should see ourselves. A lot of times we look at what is and what has been, but God says, look at what can be, look at how much, look at what Jesus did on the cross. It can be done, it will be done, it must be done, right? And so it stretches us. These Bible stories, it stretches us. We see far beyond these words, and hey, what is God really saying to us? And when we mix the Holy Spirit in our everyday life and pray much in the Holy Ghost, he shows us, um, you know, he shows us how to pass through and and over these hurdles that that we may have in our lives.
SPEAKER_00:Amen. You know, I just said this on on Sunday night. Again, I was preaching about the power of impartation, but uh we were at a church conference a couple weeks ago with Pastor Joel Sims in um Jackson, Mississippi, and he was talking about vision, and I was comparing it to our pastor and how when he, you know, uh our dad's really visionary. And so when the Holy Spirit shows him things, it's usually a picture, and he's begins to describe it in the spirit, right? We've all been in the service where God's showing him something and he has he describes it. And um and so but Pastor Joel Sims, he was t he was explaining what vision is. You know, sight is seeing seeing things the way they are, but vision uh sees what could be, but it's fueled by what uh has to be, what must be. It's fueled by what it must be. And so um I just encourage you as dad comes up here to receive the vision that's in his heart. Receive the vision uh for supernatural increase, because God is the God of supernatural, and there's some logistical things that you can do uh to to and and there's some some uh things that you can learn in the natural that can make your finances better. But man, when you tie it in to the spiritual principles and to the supernatural, God always comes through and he God always outperforms your saving system. Your giving system will always outperform your saving system. And so uh welcome your pastor as he comes right now and uh and receive the vision that's in his heart. Amen.
SPEAKER_01:Hallelujah. Thank you, Jay and Selena. Give him a big hand clap, would you? Praise God. That was awesome. And I know we've had five weeks of wonderful teaching. Again, the uh we give you the word of God, but also best practices, things that we need to know. It's it's a it's a combination of God breathing uh on your efforts, uh, you know, and and and of course the results are supernatural. Um I'm gonna lay hands on everybody that wants hands laid upon them, and I'm I'm intending to uh impart uh uh the anointing to uh for supernatural increase. You know, the Bible says in uh Deuteronomy 818, you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant, which he swear unto thy fathers as it is this day. So in the Old Testament, wealth was to establish the covenant. They had a covenant with God. Well, the Bible says in Hebrews that we have a better covenant found upon better promises. As a matter of fact, in Romans 1, it it says that that you know, how can anybody uh you you you hear the gospel, you're saved by hearing the gospel. How can they hear without a preacher, and how can the preacher go without being sent? So, in other words, again, you need you need uh wealth to send the preacher. You need wealth to reap the harvest. And which gets back to uh tonight. I mean, it's this can be a milestone evening for you if you decide to go forward with it. I can't make that uh decision for you. You have to make that decision yourself between you and God. Maybe you've uh come into this meeting, you might be under financial pressure. I'm telling you nobody's in fan any any different financial pressure than I have been numbers of times in my life. I've survived huge financial pressures and they can't eat you. I mean, you know, if you've never if you've never had a collector call you to collect a debt that you owe and had to go through what they call you, they call you names, they demean you. I mean, you know, I had a banker one time sit across uh his desk from me and tell me, John, it's just like you stole fifty thousand dollars from this bank. And you know, it's kind of tough to, you know, I borrowed I'd borrowed millions of dollars from this man and paid all of it back and I did the best I could, and he had a paper uh loss that he created that he was trying to get fifty thousand more dollars out of me after he had taken everything I owned. He took my cars, he took my house, which is illegal. And he'd been he he'd he'd he'd been cheated by other investors. I knew they had cost his bank millions of dollars. I didn't I didn't cost his bank hardly anything. So I knew what the truth was, but just to hear the words come and hit me, it took me a while to get over that feeling and that attack on my mind. Are y'all with me now? So I want to address two things tonight before I lay hands on you. And and Brother Roberts mentioned these two things. He said, My people, God told him, he said, My people are out of position because they're not thinking cro they're not thinking correctly. Over all these years, I mean, even in churches that believe in prosperity like us, we have people that have not bought into that and they somehow they feel guilty about the idea of prosperity. You gotta you're gonna have to get rid of that. Because it's not about all your stuff, it's all about becoming a supply to the needs of the harvest. That's what prosperity really is. It's to become a supply to the needs of the harvest, and the and the harvest is very great, and so are the needs. So this is the way that God chooses to fund it. Who's gonna fund the harvest? Bill Gates? George Soros? Barack Obama? Hamas? No, I'm telling you, they're not gonna fund the harvest, but Christians are gonna fund the harvest. And God's got a plan to get this where all the wealth belongs to God, every bit of it belongs to God. It doesn't belong to the devil, and it doesn't belong to you know to George Soros. Amen. It belongs to to God. And so, since we're children of God, so we've got to get our minds conditioned. Everybody say, Condition my mind. If you've gone through a tough, tough time financially and you've been beat up by the fear of by by that that atmosphere of of what the world calls failure, I mean, you just feel like a failure when you can't pay your bills. I mean. Let's just be honest. I felt all those emotions when I couldn't pay my bills. I felt all those emotions when that doctor, when that, even though I knew the truth, I knew I hadn't robbed anybody of anything. If anything, I had gone too far in giving him what he didn't really have the right to have. You know, the law says that the borrower is servant to the lender. He could have foreclosed on those loans. He would have gotten in trouble with the bank examiner, but I would have been better off financially if he had, because I'd still have my house and my car. One of my three cars. I had three cars. I lost all three of them, but I would have got to keep one of them. The law is clear about that. He couldn't touch my house. That's my homestead. But instead, I went the other way. I went all the way past in my integrity to try to pay every dollar I owed, and that's what I got back this accusation you're a robber. It's just like you robbed this bank. Well, I've forgiven him. I don't know if God's forgiven him. But anyway, praise God. Amen. If you've had that, you gotta let's condition our minds tonight before we come up here and receive from the anointing. Let's let's let's think about, we're gonna have to change our thinking. You got, you know, Brother Roberts hit it right on the head. He said, My people are are they're not in the right frame of mind for me to bless them. They're victims. They're victims. You know, you start to feel like a victim when when somebody calls you a deadbeat, when somebody starts uh manipulating you and guilt tripping you over the telephone about some debt you may legitimately owe that debt, and you're not trying to get out of it, but you just haven't been able to pay it. I mean, sometimes people get in a situation where they just can't they can't fulfill their obligations. That kind of thinking's gonna end tonight, and you're gonna get your mind conditioned. Uh years ago, I uh grew up in Catholic school and I went to public high school, first time I'd been to public school, and I went out for football because I thought, hey, I'd love to play football because I played football in the neighborhood with my buddies. We played football in the yard, and I thought it would be like that, except it wasn't like that. It was a whole lot harder. And I found out the very first day we had two two-a-days in August. I got up before daylight and walked to the field. It was right down the road from my house, so I didn't even drive there. I walk there. Get there right at daylight. It's, you know, it's it's already 90 degrees and 100% humidity. And we have that first workout for two hours, and then that afternoon we come back and have another workout. And the next morning, when I get up, I go to get up, and every muscle in my body hurts. My hair hurt. And I didn't, I mean, my toenails hurt. Everything hurt on my body. I could not believe how sore I was because I'd never been challenged physically that way. And that lasted for two weeks, two or what, two a day for two weeks. And then of course, at the end of the two weeks, you're all beat up, you're bruised up. I still have under on the inside of my lip, I just still have the busted lip that the guy gave me with his elbow under my helmet on the second day of practice, afternoon practice. So I had to go the whole thing with the big old busted lip with half my lip hanging out. I still remember, and so what happened? I thought you're talking about your body. No, I'm talking about I had to make an adjustment in my mind. I had to decide. I'm going to overcome this. I'm going to keep going, even though I'm hurting, even though I've heard all kinds of things, I've felt all kinds of things. See, you're going to have to condition your mind for prosperity because you're in for a battle. If you haven't had one, there's one coming. Everybody say, I'm conditioning my mind. Which is basically what we've been wanting to do. We want to renew your mind to the word of God. You've got to think like the word thinks, and I'm telling you, God's rich. If it was wrong to be rich, then God wouldn't be rich. And we get we get these little snide remarks like, oh, you're a prosperity preacher. Yeah, I sure am. What are you, a poverty preacher? Poverty is an evil thing. It's horrendous. And you should resist poverty with every fiber of your being the same way you resist pain, the same way you resist sin. It's all this, it comes from the same devil. Are you with me now? Everybody say, my mind. See you, you know, we talked about this very first week, uh, 3 John 2. Beloved, I pray, I wish or I pray above all things you may prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers. Jade and Son both mentioned your mind, your soul. Uh your soul has to prosper in the things of God about kingdom. Uh the kingdom of God needs the wealth that you're going to produce. You're going to receive the power to produce wealth tonight. If you're willing. I said, if you're willing. So, but you're going to have to work on your mind, and once you do, and the only way you can do that is you have a you have a commitment. You have to commit yourself. I I had to commit myself as a football player. I had to commit myself to show up at those practices even though I hurt. And even though, I mean, it was really almost like torture because they wouldn't let you drink water. Back then, they wouldn't let you drink any water during the practice. Can you imagine? It's a hundred degrees outside. And they wouldn't let you drink any water. So at the end of practice, you're dehydrated, you know, and you can't get enough water, man. I mean, you just drink water all night long until your belly's swollen. And uh uh they don't do that anymore. But back then it was like torture. Well, I had to, I had to, see, I had to overcome the resistance my mind had to pain and difficulty. Are you with me now? Uh another aspect of this is forgetting the some of the bone-headed mistakes that most of us most of us have made. If we're if we'd just be, you know, I think if we'd be honest, we could probably all say we've all made mistakes financially. I've made a lot of mistakes. Somebody asked a millionaire, how in the world did you get what you've got? He said, uh experience, you know, I learned, I learned from my mistakes. You made a lot of mistakes. If you learn from your mistakes, you'll you'll finally you'll you'll get on the right side of the curve. But if you're too, if you're too worried about mistakes and fear of making mistakes, and the fear of what's going to happen if this isn't the right decision, and and you get all bound up, see, there again, you're gonna have to think differently. So I want you to believe, I'm gonna have lead you in a confession in a moment before we pray over you. But part of that confession is that you're gonna forsake all feelings of inadequacy and all feelings of failure, and you're gonna leave those in your rear view mirror. We're just, we're gonna, they're they're behind you. You're gonna quit looking at them, quit thinking about them, quit meditating on back when you did this or you did that. Maybe you're in the middle of a mess. You know, I like what Dr. Pay said last time he was here. You know, we'd like to talk about Jesus being the Alpha and the Omega. You know what? He's the God of the middle, too. You might be on your journey, you know, 3 John 2 says, I that you prosper and be in health as your soul prospers. The word prosper there means help along life's road. Maybe you're got a got a start and you broke down on the side of the road with a flat, or maybe a check engine lied, or something happened. Well, you know what? I mean, triple A is on the way. God can take care of you while you're on the side of the road. He can help you get underway again. Maybe you've been temporarily put out of commission financially to where you're not able to participate in giving like you used to or like you want to. Hey, that's temporary. You're gonna leave all that behind because tonight's a new night. Amen. All right. And then the second thing, of course, is that you're uh uh you're gonna receive your release from bondage and forgive yourself. Hey, forgive yourself. You forgive others, forgive yourself for making a mistake. All right, and then number two, the second thing is commit to being a tither. Notice I didn't say commit to tithing, I said commit to being a tither. Being a tither is who you are. That's something you are, it's not something you do. It is something you do, but that doesn't define you. You are a tither by your identity. You're a tither when your tithe is zero. Which means that at any particular time when the offering is being taken, you have made no increase to tithe on. You're still a tither whether you put anything in the offering or not. You're a tither because that's who you are. So if you've never done it, I want you to before you get up here and have hands laid upon you, you're going to commit to being a tither. Because tithing does what? It puts God first, which they talked about. Tithing is the first tenth. It puts God first. It is honor. It's the only way you can truly honor God. You can praise him, but you can't honor him unless you tithe. Honor is all the tithing and honor. You can't you can't separate them. That's why tithing is not Old Testament. Tithing is Bible. Tithing is Bible, tithing is how we honor God. You can't honor him any other way except give him the first tenth. He owns all of it, but he doesn't require all of it. He just wants the first tenth so that you don't forget who he is to you. And he knows how close money is to you. Because we all need it, don't we? All right. And so then you're gonna also you're gonna commit to growing in the grace of generosity, which means giving over and above the tithe. You're gonna commit to giving over and above the tithe because why? Well, because in the Bible, uh, Paul told the uh uh the Corinthians, he said, Bring the proof of your love. And that was an offering for the poor saints in Jerusalem. And he called that offering a proof of your love. So your offering over and above the tithe. The tithe is an honor, but the offering over above it is, do you love God? How much do you love God? You're not trying to pay him back. You can never pay him back for your being born again. You can never pay him back for your salvation, but you can express your love by giving and being very generous. Well, I don't know. That's just one verse. Well, how about David? David, David told everybody, he told the mighty men, he told all of Israel, he said, I've prepared this day because of my affection of God's house. I have affection for God's house, and I prepared all this, these gifts of gold and silver, and he weighed it all out. It's billions of dollars. Billions. And he gave, and then he challenged these mighty men. He said, Okay, I've done this. How about y'all? What have y'all, how much do you love God? In other words, he challenged them. He challenged them to express their love for God by giving an offering over and above out of their own personal wealth. Are you with me now? That's what that's what offerings do. And so when you have the honor and the love then, and you commit in that area, and commitment means that you don't turn back from it. I mean, you know, if you if you are a tither, see, tithing, you can either tithe or not tithe. And and people say, Well, I've tithed. Okay, but you didn't say you're a tither. You just said you've tithed before. See, there's a difference because when things get bad, people like that quit tithing to take the pressure off of themselves, uh, to make themselves feel better at night. And they just say, okay, well, I'm not gonna tithe, Lord. I know you'll understand. Well, he'll understand, but it doesn't mean he'll bless you. In fact, you're you're signing up for a curse. Uh, brother Robert said it this way: you're cheating yourself. Amen. How many of you want to get out of this idea that you're gonna just come and go as tithers? I am a tither. Therefore, I'm uh there's never an occasion when I won't tithe. I will always tithe no matter what it looks like, no matter what my bills are. I am a tither, I will tithe. Now you might have to schlack off on offerings. I've I had to do that for a while. I just my income wouldn't allow me. I just didn't have the room where I was in those years. I didn't have the time or the room to give like I wanted to, and I got so fed up with it, I had an extra car. Someone had given me a car, and I we hadn't had it for two weeks. And and and I God didn't even tell me. I said, you know what? I had a family meeting. I said, you know, we want to give in the offering, seven years of harvest, Brother Osteen's receiving missions offering right now, and I want us to be part of it. How many of you uh I want to sell this car, but I want everybody in agreement. And so we had a family meeting in the car on the way to church. And Jay and Selena and uh I mean, I mean Jay and and uh Claire and uh and Gladys all voted, yes, we're gonna sell the car. We sold this old Buick for 1800 bucks and we put the whole thing in the offering. And I mean to tell you, we I I felt so good. I hadn't felt that good at church in so long. It felt so that's what that's why Jesus said it's more blessed to give than it is to receive. Amen. Are y'all getting anything out of this tonight?
