Beholding The Father's Love

Pastor John Greiner

This Father’s Day message presents a powerful idea: that the answer to our world’s chaos isn’t political or social change, but a deep revelation of the Father’s supernatural love. Unlike human love that fails, God’s divine love transforms and empowers believers to live differently—putting others first, remaining steadfast, and carrying His nature. As we embrace this heavenly love, we grow in boldness and become true sons and daughters of God, bringing light to a divided world by simply loving as He loves.

Speaker 1:

and pick our Bibles up and I want to get into the Word of God. Thank you for agreeing with me in prayer. We're going to continue to pray and process God's plan for the Middle East. These, you know, iran has got places in the Bible where judgment is occurring and that's happening right now. But they also have a blessing because of Cyrus they built the second temple, they financed the building of the second temple, and so they have a blessing coming and I believe that God's going to open up a chance for Iran to get a blessing out of all this. But no nukes I appreciate our president. No nukes, I don't care what.

Speaker 1:

So praise the Lord, let's lift our Bibles up, lift your wave them around, make Jesus glad, the devil mad. Let's say this together Say Heavenly Father, thank you for Father's Day. We remember our Heavenly Father and we thank you for his faithfulness and his goodness. And, lord, we honor our own fathers and we thank you for them. Today we thank you for a rising up of the fathers, especially in the church. Lord, there's many, many people need a good father to look to. And, lord, we thank you that spiritual fathers are only increase and we give you the praise for it in Jesus name, amen, you can be seated.

Speaker 1:

Let's turn in our Bibles to 1 John, chapter 3. And happy Father's Day. 1 John, chapter 3. John is writing to the church In verse one behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called or named the sons of God. Therefore, the world knoweth us not because it knew him not Beloved. Now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be. But we know that when he shall appear, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. And so today I wanted, here, on Father's Day, I wanted to share a message entitled Beholding the Father's Love.

Speaker 1:

Beholding the Father's Love. The church needs a revelation of the Father's love because we need to be the ones to manifest that love in the earth. Behold, see and understand. Don't just gloss over it. We talk about the love, we talk about how we love, and this and that and the other. But this verse is calling us to a deeper understanding. Behold, see and understand what manner of love, in kind and in degree. You know, sometimes it helps to study the Bible. I studied the Bible on this subject and we're kind of getting into a little bit of the teaching, of what the words mean, because they all mean something that we need to be acquainted with and have. A revelation of Faith comes by revelation, not by just having a mental agreement, and we're all called to manifest that love. How can we do it if we don't know what it is and how it is? But he said behold the love, see it and understand it.

Speaker 1:

This manner of love, in kind and in degree, what kind of love? Well, it's not phileo love. Phileo love is human love. Human love exists on the earth and human love is a failure. Human love has been proven to be a failure. People can have phileo love and then one day and the next day they can have hate and they can murder their wife and they can say the day before they phileoed them and then they phileo them. Poor joke, but anyway, I mean that's phileo is just not going to work. Phileo is not enough. Phileo is not supernatural, phileo is of the earth. But agape is what we're talking about, supernatural.

Speaker 1:

He said what manner of love. And really, when you get back into that word manner, it says from what country it came. It's coming from a different country, it's coming from heaven. It doesn't exist on the earth. This love that he's bestowed, that he's granted, that he's implanted in us, comes from the country of heaven and it's astonishing heaven. And it's astonishing, see, the the. The implication of that word, manner, is, is is it implicates that we're astonished at that love? Aren't you astonished at the love of God that while we were yet sinners, while we were running around doing our own thing me in my case, I mean I ran around, I knew about God, I knew he existed, I didn't deny that, and yet I did my own thing. Me in my case, I mean I ran around, I knew about God, I knew he existed, I didn't deny that, and yet I did my own thing. I live like a sinner, and yet God loved me all the way through. And I'm astonished. That's the kind of love that we've been given, we've been bestowed, given an unearned gift, permanent and abiding. It's never going to leave.

Speaker 1:

Some people say well, you know, I just don't feel like loving. Yeah, you've got it implanted in you. It's called a fruit of the Spirit. I mean, when you got saved, you know, romans 5, 5 says the Spirit you know we've been the Holy Ghost has shed abroad in our hearts the love of God. It's been shed abroad. When we got saved, we have it in there.

Speaker 1:

Peter says we've been partakers of the divine nature and of course God is love. That's the center of his nature. So that's the center of our nature. If we only knew it. But in God's case it's so magnificent, it's so majestic that it takes us time to encounter the size of it and it takes us time to grow in it. Because it is a fruit, see, gifts are given, but fruit is grown and love is a fruit of the spirit. Everybody say agape is in me and it's growing, see. But because if it doesn't grow, then we can't really be manifesting as sons of God. I mean, god wants us to be the sons of God. He said you know, now are we the sons of God, not later. We're the sons of God right now. But every baby Christian is a son of God. You take that little baby. That's my son. Look at my little son. Is he acting like a son? Well, not yet. He's a baby. Does he act like a son when he's two? Not yet, but it's down the way.

Speaker 1:

You know as they grow and as they mature and as they're just. You know as they're raised in a godly home with an atmosphere of love, sooner or later they start manifesting that love. It's supernatural love. It's the love that's other people oriented. It's the love that puts somebody else first. See, that's not natural. Our children are not born that way. They don't have the natural. They don't have that kind of love. They have it inside them when they get saved, but until then they're pretty much self-centered, aren't they? They want what they want when they want it, which is right now. And that's the way a lot of people are. I mean, people don't let the love of God dominate them. They let the phileo love, the conditional love, the love that says I love you as long as you treat me the way I want to be treated, but if you mess with me I'll send you to the moon. Are you with me now?

Speaker 1:

So we've been named the sons of God and the result that we're the sons of God, and then that's our purpose. When we begin to pick up the purpose of our sonship, I believe the world is waiting for a manifestation of the purpose of our sonship. I believe the world is waiting for a manifestation of the sons of God, and that's what revival is. Everybody shout revival. Revival is when the sons of God rise up and start acting like sons, Hallelujah. We start manifesting the same love of the father and, uh, you know, if we think the world is going to understand us, well, they won't. You'll never be understood as long as they're where they're at.

Speaker 1:

And we're seeing this divide in this nation and around the world, really because it is the end days. I mean, the Bible talks about separating the tares from the wheat. The tares are in the church. You've got people that are unsaved in the church and they're beginning to create trouble. They're beginning to create problems. They look like Christians but they're a counterfeit. They've never been born again. There's hope for them, but they got about that much longer because they're getting separated. And then you've got the chaff from the wheat, and so that's what you're seeing out there. The chaff and the wheat have to be separated so that the wheat can be gathered and put into the barn. The angels are in charge of it. Every time.

Speaker 1:

I see one of these demonstrations and these antifas. I saw an antifa get thrown across the street the other day. I did my heart good. You know, these are the guys that are dressed in black. They're head to toe. I mean they're paid professional agitators. He messed with the wrong donkey. I mean that guy kicked him all the way across the street and he went running the other direction.

Speaker 1:

This is why they go crazy, because the cops in LA are told to back off and stand down All by design. We're being sold a bill of goods in this country. We need to know what the truth is. The truth is that these people are trying to overthrow our country and the only way they can do it is open the borders and create chaos. Look at all these people. They're almost all communists.

Speaker 1:

One of these days, when the Antichrist takes over, there will be no more riots. That's kind of days. When the Antichrist takes over, there will be no more riots. That's kind of. That's the. I always look at the. You know the enigma of the situation Right now they're rioting and they're screaming and they're cursing and they're going to town. Man, they're just. They have such rage. Rage is contagious and rage is just. It's the devil. Rage is the devil. Those riots are the devil. That's the devil manifesting. And so, but one day, when the antichrist we're gone and the antichrist takes over, there won't be any more of that. They'll be forced to bow their knee to him. They'll be. They'll be. They'll be quoting the company line or they'll be dead.

Speaker 1:

I just think it's ironic, don't you? They don't know what their future is. Oh, I tell you, we've got a much better future If you just listen, if you just hear the gospel. You've got a better future, hallelujah. Your children, your grandchildren, they got a better future. Glory to God. I tell you, young people all around the world are waking up. We're seeing a revival among young people, college campuses. I get amazed that, charlie Kirk, he's going all across the country and he's got thousands of these students. I mean, they're on fire for God. They might not know history like they should. They might not understand everything that's going on, but I know one thing they're getting acquainted with the Lord. That's the first step. He said.

Speaker 1:

Now are we the sons of God, but it's not yet manifested what we're going to be. When I hear, when I see that I still, I still hear that word astonishment, or even the word startle, I believe that the world will be startled as the church begins to manifest the Father's love. As sons, they're going to be startled at our ability to love in the midst of all this hate, all of this conflict. And so then, you know, the Apostle John says now everybody that's got the hope of that, of that future time, and we're going to be startled at what we look like. We're going to see him as he is, we'll be just like him. We're not just like him yet, just in our spirit, but that's talking about when we see him in the rapture. When we see him come, we're gonna be instantly changed. And I mean to tell you, we're going to be astonished and we're gonna be astonishing and I have that hope in me. I look for that day. I'm not acting like it's not coming, it is coming. And since it is coming, then I am purifying myself. As he is pure.

Speaker 1:

Book of Revelation says the bride has made herself ready. I mean it's time for us to get ready for the king. Glory to God. He's the standard. That's chapter before chapter two, verse 15. He says to them love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the father's not in him. So you just gotta, you've gotta. This world is out there. I mean, years ago God told me you know, many, just you know, are satiated with the cares of this world and the pleasures of this world, and much of the care comes from the pursuit of the pleasure. Many just tip their hats to me and go along their merry way. Well, that's not the attitude we need to have right now. We need to be, we need to be making sure that our priorities are turned heavenward and and turn toward the Lord. We need to be God inside minded. We need to be making sure that our priorities are turned heavenward and and turn toward the Lord. We need to be God inside minded. We need to always be conscious of the indwelling presence of the Holy ghost. He's in there to help us. Amen, he's the standard. I said he's the standard.

Speaker 1:

We, we, we. You know we don't love the world and things that are in it. You know we need some of the things that are in it, but we don't love them. I like cars, but I and I, and I own cars and I buy cars, but I love God. I might enjoy something on the earth, I might have a hobby, I might enjoy hunting, I might enjoy fishing, but I love God. Let's, let's draw a difference, let's draw a distinction.

Speaker 1:

When Jesus came to the earth, he revealed something that mankind didn't know about. Even the Jews really didn't know the love side of God. He revealed the love of the Father and they just couldn't get a hold of it. They were astonished at it. They didn't understand it. You see, the Jews knew God as Jehovah. Jehovah is covenant-keeping God. They knew him as a covenant-keeping God. They knew him as Elohim, the supreme God creator of heaven and earth. They knew him as a covenant keeping God. They knew him as Elohim, the supreme God creator of heaven and earth. They knew him as that. They knew him as El Shaddai, which literally is the almighty, breasty one, the one who, the God, who's more than enough. He's got more than enough milk. That's the female side of God. See, god's got both sides. That's why it took a man and a woman to reflect God. They knew him in those areas. But they also knew him as judge, and they were very.

Speaker 1:

You know, they were faced with God, the judge, more than anything, because they were so stiff-necked and so disobedient. I mean, you read the history of Israel. I mean they just could not. You know, from Abraham on, they just couldn't get with the program we want a king. You know, all the way through they wanted what they wanted, which was seldom what God wanted. And so they came under judgment. They came under judgment and they were thoroughly acquainted.

Speaker 1:

And that's when John the Baptist showed up. Who who was there to prepare the way of the Lord? When he started preaching to him in the wilderness, he said you know, repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. Well, they could get with repent. They understood that. And then he said you, generation of vipers, who warned you to flee from the wrath to come, and boy, they got with that. They could understand. They frowned him. I mean they got out there and they got baptized in the river Jordan. And I mean they could understand John, john, they could understand. They could understand the language he was speaking, because he was speaking the same language they'd heard for a couple of thousand years.

Speaker 1:

But when Jesus showed up, oh glory to God, he began to talk about God as their father. My heavenly father knows what you have need. Of the Beatitudes Matthew, chapter 5, 6, and 7 was revolutionary for the Jews to hear that. They were completely shocked. Their jaws dropped. Are you kidding? Is this the same God that we thought we knew? He cares about what you need. He knows what you need. He knows what you need. Ask and you shall receive. Seek and you shall find. Knock and it'll be opened unto you. Amen.

Speaker 1:

You know, if you, being natural or evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your heavenly father give good gifts to them that ask him? Oh, they couldn't. They didn't. They didn't understand that they loved it, but they didn't understand it. They tried, they couldn't grasp it. Most of them couldn't grasp it. They couldn't lay hold on it. We need to lay hold on it, don't we? They were spiritually dead, but we're not. We're not spiritually dead. We have the Holy Ghost on the inside to help us lay hold on those things that come from the love of the Father. I like Luke 12. Fear not, little flock. It's your father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom. He's not holding anything back.

Speaker 1:

John 14, you know Jesus is talking to his disciples on the night before he was crucified, and he talked to him about the Holy Ghost. He said I'd like to tell you more, but you can't bear it now, because they were spiritually dead still he hadn't died on the cross yet. Because they were spiritually dead still he hadn't died on the cross yet, but nonetheless he told them. In John 14, judas, verse 22, said Judas said unto him, not Iscariot, not Judas Iscariot, but Judas the other Lord. How is it that you will manifest yourself unto us and not unto the world? And Jesus answered and said unto him if a man loved me, he will keep my words and my father will love him and we will come and make our abode with him. See. So there he's talking about the new birth. There he's talking about the indwelling presence of God himself.

Speaker 1:

The Jews didn't have that. The Jews didn't have that. The disciples didn't have that Not yet. But he's talking to them about it. He's saying what's available. Oh, thank God, we got what was available, didn't we? Come on, lift your hands right now. Thank God for the Father's love. Hallelujah.

Speaker 1:

The Father and Jesus both abide in us. And how does that happen? In the person of the Holy Spirit. Because the Holy Spirit is identical in every way to the Father and the Son. He said whatever I hear Jesus say, I'll share it with you. All things the Father has are mine. Therefore, I said I'd share it with you. So the Father shares with Jesus. The Holy Ghost takes what Jesus has shared and shares it with us. We have the effect of the Father and the Son all living in us at the same time, even though it's just one. Are you all with me now? So Jesus manifested this over in John, chapter 21, after the resurrection, you know, he was risen from the dead.

Speaker 1:

He appeared to the disciples a number of times, and this is one where he appeared to them by the seaside, you know, and they had fished all night. Lads, have you got any meat? No, we've been fishing all night. No, john said it's the Lord. Peter drove in the water, you know, and swam off, and Jesus already had some fish going on the fire. He's gonna have fish tacos Wondered if they had any to add to what he had. I don't know where he got them, but he's cooking and they have a meal right there on the side, you know.

Speaker 1:

And in verse 15,. So when they had dined, jesus said to Simon Peter 15. So when they had dined, jesus said to Simon Peter Simon, son of Jonas, agape, thou me more than these. He saith unto him yea, lord, thou knowest that I phileo thee. He didn't know about agape. He's got it, but he didn't know it. I said he's got it, but he doesn't know it. Jesus has died on the cross. He's breathed on them. They have the Holy Ghost for salvation. Not filled with the Holy Ghost, but they have the Holy Ghost. They're alive to God. But he doesn't know it, so he can't say agape. He says, yeah, yeah, lord, you know, I phileo you. Yeah, he said feed my lambs. If that's true, do something about it. If you love me, do something. Love demands an action. Love's not just a, you know a word. Love's not just a word. Love is not just an idea, it's an action. And then he asked him the second time, sayeth him again the second time Verse 16. Simon, son of Jonas, agape thou me. He saith unto him yea, Lord, thou knowest that I phileo thee. He said unto him feed my sheep, feed my sheep, do something. Then the third time, 17. Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me.

Speaker 1:

Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time agape thou me. And he said unto him Lord, you know, you know all things, you know that I, the lay of thee. Jesus said unto him feed my sheep. Now one commentator said you know that Jesus gave him a chance to undo his betrayal before the cross, that he denied Jesus three times. So now he had to confess him three times. And so Peter had a real revelation of the purpose of ministry, and that is to feed the sheep, to watch after the sheep. He was an apostle, all right, but he had a real pastoral revelation Because Jesus said look, if you love me, you're going to make sure that my sheep are well fed and well watered. You're going to watch after them. And that's not just for the pastor, but that's for all of us. That's because we're all in the same family. Are you with me now Talking about the love of the Father?

Speaker 1:

So just four things. I want to leave you with Just a simple message that reminds you in this time of conflict, it's easy to get distracted, it's easy to grit your teeth and get angry, and I find myself just having to calm myself down because there's just such ludicrous, there's ludicrous, it's just ludicrous. What's going on, I mean it just you know defies the imagination sometimes. What's going on, I mean it just you know, defies the imagination sometimes. But but let's, let's remember number one you've got a father who loves you. Maybe your earthly father failed.

Speaker 1:

We have some people in here, barbara, I don't know everybody, but I'm in a crowd this size there's always dysfunctional families. I mean, you know, read the Bible. You want to see dysfunctional family. Look at, look at the Bible families, look at the 12 tribes. It's about as dysfunctional family as you can get. So welcome to the dysfunctional club. I was blessed to have a daddy that loved me and was involved in my life, and my mother too. And but not everybody has that. Not everybody that's a Christian comes from a good, loving, stable background. Maybe yours was full of conflict and maybe even abuse. Maybe it was broken. Maybe there was divorce. Maybe there was betrayal, maybe there was. You know, maybe you were raised by grandparents, maybe you were, maybe you were foster children.

Speaker 1:

I mean, there's all kinds of folks in the church that are lacking the earthly imprint of what God's plan was. But let me tell you something You've got the love of the father implanted in you. He loves you with an everlasting love. It'll never decrease, it'll never go away, and your realization of it is gonna grow and grow as you grow in Him. Number two he gave you His name. In other words, he let you be named, or let you be called, the Son of God.

Speaker 1:

You have a DNA. We've been all partakers of His divine nature. We've been partakers of His DNA. The center of His DNA is the love of God. God is love. As a matter of fact, I mean, love is God, god is love, and so that's the center of it, but it's not the only part. Love, joy, peace, patience, all the fruit of the Spirit, is just how God is. He's faithful. We've been talking about faithful. Well, we're faithful. We can develop in faithfulness and should. Amen, amen. Are you getting anything out of this? We've got the very. I mean, the love of God has been shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost Minute. You got saved, you got his, you got his very nature. And as we grow in things, as we taught the word and get a revelation of that love, we grow and we grow, and we grow and we grow, and one of these days we're going to see him as he is. Glory to God, Woo, hallelujah. And then, not only that, but he gave you an inheritance. Number three he gave you an inheritance Psalm 116, 12 and 13.

Speaker 1:

The psalmist said it this way what shall I render under the Lord for all his benefits toward me? What, what, how can I repay him? How can, what can I render back to him? I mean, he's given me so much. How can I, how can I properly pay him back? And then the psalmist answers his question. He says I know what I'll do. I know I'll take the cup of salvation and call upon the name of the Lord. I'll take full advantage of his covenant. I will not let one drop of his precious blood be shed in vain. I will receive I will believe I receive every benefit the forgiveness of my sins, the infilling of the Holy Ghost. I'm going to be a witness to his love. I'm going to go everywhere. I'm going to lay my hands on sick people. I'm going to brag on Jesus. I'm going to make a difference in this earth, hallelujah. That's how we can repay him by living like sons. And then the last one, since all of that's true now, serve him as a son, be a son of God, be a son of love.

Speaker 1:

Let's look at first John, chapter 3, again in verse 8. Very powerful verse he that committeth sin is of the devil. The word committeth means practice he that practices sin. See, we might sin, but we don't practice it. We might slip and fall and do things that we're ashamed of, but we can confess that and get that cleansed. But a person that's lost is a practicer of sin. That's what they want to do. They're sinners.

Speaker 1:

So here you're of the devil. He that committed sin is of the devil. The devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose, the Son of God was manifest that he might destroy the works of the devil. That's our job description. That's what we're here to do. We're here to rise up and destroy the works of the devil. One of the greatest ways to destroy the works of the devil is to get somebody saved. Love covers a multitude of sin. When you love people enough to tell them the truth and witness about what he's done for you and you get them saved, I'm telling you you've just defeated the devil, you've destroyed his works. Glory to God, hallelujah, hallelujah. First, john 4, 17.

Speaker 1:

Another good one I want to leave you with Herein is our love made perfect or mature, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment. Isn't that where we're living right now? We boldness in the day of judgment? Isn't that where we're living right now? We're living in the day of judgment. We ought to have boldness because, as he is, so are we in this world. Hallelujah, so as we behold and live in the Father's love, we will see a great harvest. Come on, lift your hands and receive the word of God today. Hallelujah, happy Father's Day. Glory to God. Thank you, jesus, for your love transcends everything that we're seeing and is a remedy for what ails the earth. Hallelujah, the love of God.
