Cooperating With The Holy Spirit
What if you truly believed your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit—not a metaphor, but a reality? This message unpacks how that revelation transforms every part of life. The Holy Spirit isn’t just a helper for hard times; He’s a permanent resident, ready to guide, empower, and strengthen you daily. By yielding our bodies as instruments of righteousness, tuning in to His inner witness, staying continually filled through worship and gratitude, and cultivating personal communion with Him, we align ourselves with God’s design. This isn’t about religious performance—it’s about deep, daily partnership with the Spirit who lives within.
Pick our Bibles up, wave them around, make Jesus glad, the devil mad. We've got all this perfect soundness in us. Tonight let's say this together Say Heavenly Father, thank God for the name of Jesus, thank God, you gave me and dealt me the measure of faith. I've been dealt the measure of faith in the name of Jesus and my faith is increasing. It's being built on revelation of the Word of God and illuminated by the Holy Ghost. I'm on the winning team. I've got the winning strategy. The Holy Ghost always puts me over in Jesus' name. Amen.
Speaker 1:First Corinthians tonight, chapter six and verse 19. What Know you not? That your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which you have of God, and you are not your own, for you are bought with a price. Therefore, glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's. And so tonight I just have a simple message entitled cooperating with the Holy ghost. Cooperating with the Holy ghost, you know God told me a number of years ago teach what you take for granted. I've got lots of revelation over the years, things that I've been taught, things that God gave me, and I don't try to strain and try to come up with some new thing. I mean I find that faith cometh by hearing, and hearing, I mean we need to hear the same thing. I've preached on this before, but we need to hear it again because, you know, we need to be reminded that this body is not ours, it doesn't belong to us, it's been bought with a price. It's really the temple of the Holy Ghost. And so when you read the verses up above there, you know he's correcting the Corinthian church. They were highly carnal. The Corinthians were. They came out of the occult and they were very familiar with demon powers and they dealt in the spirit realm on a regular basis. And so when you're on the wrong side, the evil side of the spirit realm, and you get saved, you need somebody to tell you the truth, not get those realms mixed up and you can start using witchcraft in the name of Jesus. If you're not, I mean I've seen it, you know you people just are wrong and they, they just had all kinds of trouble in their church. They were carnal.
Speaker 1:He, he rebuked them for being carnal. He said you know, y'all are going around bragging on who baptized you and you're, you've got factions and you've got favorites and you've got cliques. He didn't use the word clique. He uses a different word, but still it's like just a few people get around each other and nobody else can get in their group. I mean, that's not church, that's not the way it is. Here you have your favorites, but look, and we're all part of one another, everybody.
Speaker 1:And so the word carnal means body ruled, and so he had to speak to them directly and teach them a better way to live. I mean, if you keep reading there in chapters, all the chapters ahead of chapter six, I mean he's having to tell them, you know what about this young man that's sleeping with his mother-in-law coming to church? Open sin, adultery, that such sin is not even named among the heathen, that you would be living like that in front of everybody, don't you know? A little leaven leavens, a whole lump. Don't you let that go on? Punish him what? You don't punish him just to punish him. You punish him to let him know that if he keeps going that way, he's going to go to hell at some point. He's not there yet, but he will get there If you don't correct it and if you don't issue some sort of proclamation.
Speaker 1:So what they did is they separated him from the church. They made him leave the church and to where he didn't have the covering of the pastor, he didn't have the love of the saints. And then he got eat on by demon powers and we don't know whether he got sick, we don't know whether he, you know, went broke. We don't know what the consequences were. It doesn't say, but in the next chapter he repented. So what they did worked.
Speaker 1:I mean the modern church, we don't demand enough of people that get out of order. You know, baby Christians get involved in all kind of sin. We can't just, you know, we have to love them and we have to teach them better. We don't condemn them, but you know somebody that's going to go out in front of everybody like that they've got to. Everybody knows it. Amen, are y'all with me now?
Speaker 1:So you know, in the verse right before the one, we read, verse 18, flee, fornication. They had that going on in their church, which is sexual relations between unmarried people. Flee, he said, stop it. Every sin that a man does is without the body, but he that committeth fornication sins against his own body. See so, in other words, to get a revelation of what your body is. Don't compromise the temple of the Holy Ghost by your lifestyle. That's basically what he's saying.
Speaker 1:So thank God, everybody say thank God for the Holy Ghost Now. He doesn't leave us just when we mess up. He's not here today and gone tomorrow. He doesn't, I'll tell you. He has love and mercy. He bears long with you. But on the other hand, we need the Word to kind of keep us in a guidance, and every believer has the Holy Ghost living on the inside.
Speaker 1:Baby Christians have them, everybody has them. All of our bodies are the temples of the Holy Ghost living on the inside. Baby Christians have them, everybody has them. All of our bodies are the temples of the Holy Ghost. Collectively, we're the temple of the Holy Ghost, which is why people, when they come into church building, feel the presence of God. God doesn't live in the building, he lives in the people that come in the building.
Speaker 1:And then I'm convinced that there are angels that are here all the time and they do carry the presence of God. So that's why, when people come in here, even when there's nobody here, I mean, you know, I feel something when I walk in here and there's nobody here, why? Well, I just know angels are here. God himself doesn't live here. He lives here. But then there's a corporate like we had tonight, I. But then there's a corporate like we had tonight. I mean, what we had tonight was that glory, that corporate presence. I mean we start magnifying the name of Jesus First, john 4, 4, greater is he that's in us than he that's in the world. We need to keep that in mind. We need to cooperate with him. He's a genius. We need to learn to lean on him. We need to cooperate with Him.
Speaker 1:In John 14, 16, jesus calls Him the Comforter. King James, the Greek word is parakletos and they translate it comforter, which I think is not as accurate as it could be. It's really helper is the most simple definition of parakletos, but I like to amplify it. It it breaks it down like this counselor, helper, intercessor, advocate, strengthener, standby, one called alongside to help. Just think about standby.
Speaker 1:Does anybody ever have to work standby? Yeah, I mean the plant calls you and you might be off, but now they're calling you in. They got a shutdown and or they've got an emergency, or they've got a leak, or they've got some work for a chemical plant or a refinery or something like that. I mean you, you have your day off, but sometimes you get a call in the middle of the night. You got to show up, you're on standby.
Speaker 1:Well, the Holy Ghost is on standby, excuse me. So he's in us for our benefit. So we should learn to cooperate with Him. And so tonight I just have a very simple message. But you know, we need to hear these things over and over Because we forget sometimes or we let some things slip.
Speaker 1:Four things tonight, four aspects in which we should cooperate with the Holy Ghost. The first one is be controlled by the Holy Ghost. Be controlled by the Holy Ghost. Why? Because we're not our own. We're not our own. So he's made that point. No, don't flee fornication, flee all the. Be controlled by the Holy.
Speaker 1:If you're controlled by the Holy Ghost, then you're going to resist the temptation to sin. You're going to resist it because you're thinking about the fact that you don't want to violate the temple of the Holy Ghost. You're the temple, one of the easiest ways to conquer besetting sin. Sometimes we're tempted. I mean, you know we all come out of. We're all at some point in time lost.
Speaker 1:The little babies you know, like Hannah. Hannah will probably get saved at a young age. She'll never know what it's like to be a lost person because she'll be sitting here in this church and then she'll just get saved. I mean, that's kind of the way my kids were. They didn't have a chance to live ungodly lives. They got saved at very young ages. But for most of us, like me, I still remember what it's like to be lost. And you know, when I got saved, my flesh still wanted to do all the things that I did when I was lost. But I knew better. I knew that I shouldn't do that. So that was the lordship of Jesus through the presence of the Holy Ghost on the inside. I mean, I got a hold of these verses when I first got saved and I allowed the Holy Ghost to control my appetites.
Speaker 1:It took a while for me to understand certain things. For instance, I kept drinking beer. I didn't go to the bar and empty all the booze out right away, but about six months after I got saved, I mean, I destroyed my beer-making apparatus. I didn't even give it away. Why would I give it away and give it to somebody else that might turn into an alcoholic? It wasn't a whole. It was a five-gallon Ozarka water bottle and a little valve. It wasn't a bunch of stuff Bottle washers and empty long-neck beer bottles. I just threw it all in the trash. And then I went to the bar and I dumped all the booze out, all the scotch, all the tequila, all the bourbon, all the rum, all the you know everything. I don't know who drank all that. I wasn't much of a drinker of alcohol. I was a beer drinker, but I had all of it. It was all there and I dumped it all out because I made a break.
Speaker 1:You know, holy Ghost said you don't need to be drinking now. It's ruining your witness. What if you're trying to tell somebody about Jesus and they smell alcohol on your breath? You just ruin your witness. That's all he had to tell me. Are you with me now? Be controlled by the Holy Ghost. We're not our own. We've been bought with a price. We ought to glorify God in our body In 1 Corinthians 1, 7,.
Speaker 1:Despite the fact they were carnal, you know what Paul told them? He said you've come behind and no good gift. They had the gifts of the Holy Ghost and yet, see, gifts are given, but fruit is what Grown. So their fruit wasn't growing as fast as the gift. The gift was given to them and they had gifts. They had speaking in tongues, they had prophecy. They had all in tongues. They had prophecy. They had all these gifts, but yet they were carnal. And so that's the thing you come behind. No good gift. But hey, let's get caught up. Let's stop being body rules. Stop all these cliques and factions and sin in the camp. Romans 6, 13,.
Speaker 1:We ought to yield our members as weapons of righteousness. What's a member? It's body part, your hands and feet, your eyes, your mouth. You yield them as weapons of righteousness unto God. Otherwise, you yield them to the devil for sin unto sin. So, yeah, I mean, you know your feet can take you places you shouldn't go, your hands can do things you shouldn't do, your eyes can look at things you shouldn't look at. Are you with me now? So what do you do? You yield your entire body because it's not yours, it's his, and you yield it to God unto righteousness.
Speaker 1:I like to confess that almost every day I might miss a day or two, but every now and then I mean I'll just go down the list, lord I just yield my body as weapons of righteousness. I put off the old man, which is corrupt, according to his deceitful lusts, and I put on the new man which, after God, is created in righteousness and true holiness. I put on the Lord, jesus Christ, and I make no provision for my flesh. I mean I just set the tone. I speak it out out loud. Is it a prayer? Well, it's based on the Word. I mean it's a confession. If you've got a good, strong confession, you believe in your heart what God has provided, I mean it'll keep you clean, it'll keep you from falling into things that you shouldn't be involved with.
Speaker 1:A lot of this is growing up, because you know Ephesians chapter 4, says we henceforth be no more children tossed to and fro by every wind of doctrine slide of men with cunning craftiness, lie and wait to deceive, but speaking the truth in love may grow up into him. In all things we need to grow up, and you may have been in church for 40 years, but you still got areas that you need to grow in. Grow just means change Grow. You see a gap when you read your Bible. That's why we ought to have a Bible life, a word life, and we ought to have a prayer life. If you've got both of those working, then you will identify things in your life that are gaps. What's a gap? Well, it's where you are and where you should be, you know, and you got to close that and he's not going to do it. You have to do it, you have to identify it. And then you got to close it. What if you don't identify it? Well, that means you're not praying and reading your Bible like you should, because if you were, he would help you. Your Holy Spirit will help you. He'll never condemn you. I said he'll never condemn you.
Speaker 1:I've done, you know, some flying in small planes and my partner had a Cessna and I flew a lot with him and I flew in the right seat. He was the pilot, but I mean, I watched him real close to watch him how he flew, and he had an instrument rating. In other words, he could go up when it socked in, he could legally go up. Most pilots never get that. They just it takes a lot more hours and a lot more money to get your instrument rating, but it's worth it, because you just never know when you're flying. It can start off visual flight rules, but then, when you get halfway to your destination, suddenly it's all socked in and now you're illegal, you shouldn't be flying. So what do you do? Well, you better land.
Speaker 1:One time we had to land. And where was it? Well, industry. We had to find a strip out here west of town, somewhere around out there near industry, because there was an outer marker out there that we hit and all of a sudden the weather changed. It wasn't supposed to do that, and this is before my partner got instrument rated.
Speaker 1:Now it's one thing to his credit, he was a very detailed guy and he was straight. He would not take chances. And he said, man, I got to land this plane. I really hate it. And we had to land the plane, you know, and we had to call his wife and she had to get in her car and come get us. And we came home and then, you know, a few days later, when the weather was good, he had to drive all the way back out there and get in the plane and pay a big fee for parking the plane, because that wasn't where he normally didn't have a relationship there, and all of the are you with me now? So I mean closing gaps. Closing gaps, if you.
Speaker 1:You know, when we, when we took off, he always had a heading. He always knew exactly what the heading was going to be. Now, if you just move a little bit one way or the other. When you go 200 miles, you can miss your destination and you can't even see it. It's so far off to the side. You generally flew west, but not accurately enough, to land at a ranch on the outside of Rock Springs, texas. I mean, you know it's not exactly a teaming the ranch where we had a deer lease, we had a landing strip that we made and he had it all vectored out. He knew exactly what the heading would be, coming from Hook's Airport out here to go to that deer lease. But you know, if he wasn't really watching and really taking care of his vectoring and all of that, we might wind up in Brady. We might wind up 100 miles to the north or we might wind up in Carrizo Springs. I mean we're not going to hit Brock Springs, are y'all with me now? Destination's off.
Speaker 1:Be controlled by the Holy Ghost. Let's grow up, let's close the gaps, let's yield ourselves to the Holy Ghost and he will help us All. Right. Second thing be led by the Holy Ghost. Be controlled by the Holy Ghost. Be led by the Holy Ghost. Romans 8, 14,.
Speaker 1:As many as are the sons of God. They are as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. And, of course, the reverse is true as many as are sons of God, they are. As many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. And of course, the reverse is true as many as are sons of God, they are led by the Spirit of God. So it's not a question of whether we're led, it's a question of whether we follow. You're always getting leading, but you don't always identify what the leading is. We talked about adjusting your receiver this morning. You know, sometimes you have to adjust your receiver so you can identify the leading, so that you can identify what he's, how he's guiding you. Again, it takes a prayer life and a word life working together. Everybody say a prayer life and a word life. So if he leads, then we have to follow.
Speaker 1:And the main way that he leads is by the witness of the spirit. That's how you know you're saved. The spirit of God witnesses that we are the children of God. When you got saved, it was the witness that let you know you were saved. It wasn't that you saw Jesus. He didn't appear to you, he didn't speak to you. He didn't. I mean, typically that's not what happens. For some people, like Paul, he saw Jesus, but that's one out of a million. I mean, that doesn't happen to most people.
Speaker 1:When people get saved, typically they know they're saved by the witness of the spirit and they know inside of them that they are saved because they hear Abba, father, daddy. All of a sudden, god is not just God anymore, he's your daddy, and you have that inward assurance. It's a supernatural thing. Well, it makes sense then. If God communicated with you that you were saved by the witness, then that's how he's going to lead you. Most of your life is by the witness of the Spirit, and so people that wait around for what I call spectacular guidance and it's valid, for some people have dreams, some people have visitations. I've had my share. Some people have, you know, hear the voice of the Lord. I've heard his voice. But if I waited for those things, for guidance, I would have missed out on all kinds of things. Really, it's by the witness of the Spirit.
Speaker 1:It was the hardest thing for me as a man to learn how to yield to, because most men want to reason everything out, they want to think it all out. It's got to make sense up here. You know, that's just how we're wired. Women are more susceptible to listening to the witness because of women's intuition. I mean women. If you ask them how I asked that one time, I said okay, you made this decision, I agree with you, but how did you arrive at that decision? And she starts telling me this story and it goes way around the, you know, all the way at the Gulf of America, all the way up, you know, goes way out, and she circles back around and I'm thinking that made no sense to me at all. It defies logic. See, logic is what we're, we're just. You know, men want logic. Well, god's not always logical.
Speaker 1:The witness so, but there's other. You know the voice of the witness, so, but there's other. You know, the voice of your own spirit, the still small voice, the voice of the Holy Ghost. Sometimes he can speak, but the book of 1 Corinthians 14 says beware of voices. There's no voice that ever speaks. There are none of them without significance. Some voices are not the voice of the Lord, they're not the voice of the Master. If you follow voices, you very likely are going to get deceived at some point in time, because you, you know, the devil comes as an angel of light. He knows how to mimic, he knows how to counterfeit Leader Guidance. I should say Are you getting anything out of this? So we have to be.
Speaker 1:You know, learn to be led by the Holy Ghost, the witness of the Spirit, which is just following peace in your heart. When you've got a decision and you've got peace maybe not peace here, peace here you learn to lean on the inside. You learn to lean on that signal. You know, sometimes it's just like like a, it's like a buzzer. You know it kind of buzzes and kind of vibrates. Well then you know that's not, that's not the right thing to do. You just you better slow down, that's, you know. You don't hear that, but I mean it's almost.
Speaker 1:You know, I remember sitting at the table with these business, these brokers, and they were selling me some lots to build houses on and everything in me said don't sign it, don't sign it, don't sign it. I signed it, I overrode the witness of the Spirit and I almost was physically ill when I finished. I mean I almost I left there and I just had such regret. I mean I almost I left there and I just had such regret. See, at the time I just didn't understand that that was the Holy Ghost trying to keep me from making a big mistake in my business. I mean, he will lead you in all your affairs, he'll lead you in your investments, he'll lead you in where you live, he'll lead you when you go and move. He'll lead you in every area of your life with the witness of the Spirit.
Speaker 1:So don't be stumbling over the supernatural looking for the spectacular, because the witness is supernatural. Everybody say thank God for the witness of the Holy Ghost. Everybody say I have the witness in myself. See, you're quoting the Word right now. You ought to say that all the time. When you're kind of starting out in this, you're starting to begin, you know, explore, being led by the Spirit. You have to just go ahead and have a confession. Well, lord, I thank you, I'm saved and I have the witness abides in me, I'm a believer and I have the witness that abides in me. See, you've got supernatural equipment. You have it. You have it, you already have it. You already have it. All right.
Speaker 1:So be controlled by the Holy Ghost, be led by the Holy Ghost, which means follow the Holy Ghost, because if he's leading, you need to follow. Remember that old bumper sticker lead, follow or get out of the way. I mean, let's follow the Holy Ghost when he's leading, let's follow Him. And you know, if he's not saying anything to you, don't be fussing trying to hear Him. I've had people. Well, you know, if he's not saying anything to you, don't be fussing trying to hear him. I've had people.
Speaker 1:Well, you were preaching about that and I've really been praying Lord, speak to me, oh, speak. Well, don't do that. Just let him take care of you. Just walk by faith, the way you're going right now. Walk by faith until you lose your peace. If you lose your peace, then you can start asking. Well, you were talking this morning about moving to Corpus and I don't know. I'm wondering whether I should be moving. Well, no, don't do that. You're cluttering up your prayer life. Depend on Him to lead you, don't you lead you? Amen.
Speaker 1:I don't know who this is for. It's for somebody. All right, be controlled by the Holy Ghost. Be led by the Holy Ghost. Number three be filled with the Holy Ghost. Ephesians 5, 18,. Be not drunk with wine where there's an excess, but be filled, or be being filled with the Holy Ghost. Be continually and habitually filled with the Holy Ghost the linguistic Greek key to the Greek New Testament Be continually and habitually. And that tells me, it takes commitment and it takes time, it takes attention, and so lots and lots of other things can invade your attention and priority and get in the way of being full. You know, I like what John Wesley said.
Speaker 1:John Wesley who headed up the Methodist revival. He was a mighty man of God. He said you know, I like to pray two hours every day. I start my day off praying two hours. And he said if I've got a day that's particularly challenging and I know that there's going to be a whole lot going on, a lot of challenges then I pray three hours. So he doesn't give in to the day. He makes the day bow its knee to his prayer life. See, he knows he needs extra prayer, he knows he's going to have to have help from the helper, and so he prays longer instead of cutting it short. Well, I've got so much to do, I better just pray for 15 minutes. Well, you know you're cutting the wrong thing.
Speaker 1:Let's be continually and habitually filled with the Holy Ghost. And it tells you there, in verses 18 through 20, how to do that, speaking to yourself in psalms and hymns, spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord. So speaking, giving thanks in all things. Be full of praise, thanks, thanksgiving, be grateful. It's easy to get out of sorts. It's easy to get you know, fussy and feel like you're getting the shorts into the stick and all that. No, let's just be thankful. Let's always be thankful to God. He's never treats you that way. People might treat you that way, but it shouldn't mean anything. I mean it shouldn't interfere with our thanking God for what he does for us and then submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God. Those three things are part of being full of the Holy Ghost.
Speaker 1:When you have to have your way and you have to have your say and you feel like that you're not respected, then you know the Holy Ghost is not really filling you and really the devil is working on you. That's just one of the when you know that's how you're thinking. Don't let your mouth speak it. You're thinking that Rise up and rebuke that thought. Quit claiming that thought. It's not coming from inside of you, it's coming from the outside. It's trying to get you off base. It's trying to get you to make the wrong decisions based on wrong, on the flesh Really, that's the flesh. No, let's stay full of the Holy Ghost.
Speaker 1:Everybody say I'm filled with the Holy Ghost, praise God. I mean, you know, I just I like to speak the word all day long and then I just lapse over in tongues. When I'm praying and reading my Bible, I just do both of them at the same time. I have my Bible open in my lap and I'm praying and I'm reading, and I'm praying and I'm thanking and I'm oh, here's a challenge. Oh, I just pray over this gap. Right here there's a gap. I'm going to shut that gap right here, right now. Right here there's a gap. I'm going to shut that gap right here, right now.
Speaker 1:I'm still working on my traffic voice. I have, I have a hard time in traffic. I just confess my sin, confess your faults one to another that you may be healed. So I've confessed that I am struggling sometimes with people that are right in front of me, that are texting instead of driving, and I'm sitting at the light and three lights have changed and have only moved about 15 feet, and then, when the light changes, one goes out and another hundred yards, another one goes out and another hundred yards and then I'm sitting there again. So I do talk to people and I, you know, I say, lord, I'm sorry I shouldn't have said that to them. They didn't hear me anyway, but you did, and I'm sorry that I had to expose you to my anger. Anyway, praise God, it's hard to drive in Houston anymore, all right, but I believe I've received my forgiveness and my cleansing. I'm going to do better, all right.
Speaker 1:The last one is found in 2 Corinthians 13, 14. So be controlled by the Holy Ghost, be led by the Holy Ghost, be filled with the Holy Ghost. The last one says in chapter 13, verse 14, the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God and the communion of the Holy Ghost be with you all. Amen. The communion of the Holy Ghost, the koinonia of the Holy Ghost, should be ours. We should have fellowship. Koinonia is fellowship, partnership. We should be close. We should have close fellowship with the Holy Ghost. You know your prayer life is fellowshipping with the Father and we fellowship with Jesus.
Speaker 1:But David Yonggi Cho, years ago, 40-some-odd years ago, I heard him speak at the World Convention for Gospel Businessmen, anaheim, california, and he got up and he preached on that. We all should worship with the Holy Ghost. He had that real heavy Chinese accent. You know, back then he had a church of 18,000 in Korea and just massive church, and it was built on prayer. He had a prayer tower. I mean people were there 24-7 praying. His mother was head of the prayer group. They were praying people and you know, in China, or you know Korea rather, I mean they just had to have house churches because they just couldn't put everybody in the building I mean. So they had house churches and he was quite a man of God. I think he was assembly of God really, but uh, he was, he was uh taught me about the fact that the Holy spirit is worthy of our fellowship. We should talk to him, we should thank him, we should praise him. We ought to thank God for him, we ought to thank Jesus for him. We ought to thank Jesus that Jesus, you know, made it possible for us to have another paraclete and we ought to be grateful for the Holy Ghost Fellowship. In the Message Bible it says the intimate friendship with the Holy Ghost, intimate friendship, friends.
Speaker 1:Years ago I hadn't been saved but a few months and I was determined that my life was going to change and I, you know, I heard about praying in tongues every day and praying and reading your Bible. And I was man, I was doing it and I had a room in the house that I would go into every morning early and I had a green velvet chair in there, the ottoman, and I'd sit in that chair and I'd pray and I'd read my Bible and I'd go over to the desk and write a few notes down and you know, just studying my Bible, coming up with questions and stuff, and I took notes and I spent about two, two and a half hours every morning and I wasn't a breakfast eater, so the kids in the meantime would go in the kitchen glad to be fixing their breakfast and get them off to school. Sometimes I'd come out and be part of laying hands on them or send them off to school, but one morning I would just had gotten through praising him and and I leaned my head back, you know, on the head of the chair, and just closed my eyes and so sweetly I heard the voice of the Holy ghost and said he said this to me. He said you are my intimate companion. You are my intimate companion. I just man, my, I started. Water just shoot out of my eyes. I mean I didn't cry, just water just started running down my face, just tears. It was so tender, it was so precious, the love of the Holy Ghost he expressed to me and for me I'm your intimate companion. I mean, what those words and all these years, 40, some odd years later, I've never forgotten them and I talk about them. It's, it's a testimony. I mean that's, that's who you are to him. He's your intimate companion. Is he yours? I mean it's.
Speaker 1:You know, if he's an intimate friend with you, then we ought to be intimate friends with him. We ought to count ourselves as intimate friends with the third person of the Godhead. I mean he's a genius, he's all powerful, he can do anything but fail and anything but lie. Man to have a friend like that, and we do. Come on, lift your hands right now. Thank God for the intimate friendship of the Holy Ghost.
Speaker 1:Let's take time every day to think, and even during the day. I mean I just I talked to him all day long, off and on. You know, I talked to the father, I talked to Jesus, but I talked to the Holy Ghost. That's not wrong to do that. He lives in us. So we ought to be in constant koinonia with him. That means partnership.
Speaker 1:Years later, it was like God means partnership. Years later, it was like God invited me to be uh, sit around the table of God and sons unlimited. Be part of the decision makers. I saw myself in this, in this conference room, at this big table and nameless faces around it, and I'm one of them, and God is has made me a full partner in God and Sons Unlimited. Praise God. That's what he wants to do. He wants to be your intimate companion and friend. Praise God. So what a joy life is is we're faithful to cooperate with the Holy Ghost. Come on, let's lift our hands right now, father. We thank you that as the days move forward, especially in this year of milestones, lord, let it be said that our fellowship is getting greater. Our cooperation is getting greater with the Holy Ghost, the greater one lives in us. We approach life always with the idea that he is on our side. He's our ally. In Jesus' name, amen. Did anybody get anything out of this tonight? I know it's basic stuff, but you know we need the basics. Praise the Lord.
