Signs, Wonders, and Supernatural Power
When natural forces like earthquakes, tornadoes, and hurricanes merge with supernatural energy, dominion authority, and delegated influence, believers access a power dimension that defies human limitation. This manifestation creates what Scripture describes as "ecstasy"—not the drug-induced variety, but overwhelming astonishment that transforms skeptics into witnesses who can't stop testifying about "wonderful, strange, incredible, unthinkable things."
let's start with ephesians, chapter one. If you dare say amen. If you're not there, say please wait for me. Verse 19 actually. And what is the exceeding greatness of his power towards us? We believe according to the working of his mighty power. And what is the exceeding greatness of his power towards us? We believe according to the working of his mighty power. This baba verse here is power pack. Um, sometimes we use a lot of words in church, uh, that by reason of use, have become cliche, simply meaning that they've lost their, their real meaning. Um, the exceeding greatness of his power, the word power.
Speaker 1:There is a Greek word, dunamis. Somebody say dunamis, and you have a lot of words that I use in the Bible that originally were not spiritual terms, but Paul or Jesus used the language of the day Because the people could understand the spiritual ramification of the words. And the word dunamis explosive power. Actually, it was a word that the Greeks and the Romans. The Greeks and the Romans use to describe something like an earthquake. Earthquake. You know, I've been to Japan 17 times and my wife doesn't like to go to Japan because every single time we've been in Japan, we always experience an earthquake. Thank you for your support. Earthquake, that word, dunamis, the Greek and Roman use it to describe a force, a force of nature like an earthquake, like a tornado, like a hurricane. So next time you talk about dunamis, somebody say explosive power. It's very important because I believe that that will help your faith, will help your faith. You know, uh, you know, when you, when you have that kind of understanding, it will help your faith. You know, just apply the word of God. So, dunamis, explosive power, if I want to put my own definition, with all the the background, knowledge, an explosive power that moves like a natural force, like a hurricane, like an earthquake, like a tornado, and like a hurricane, like an earthquake, like a tornado, and you know what those can do in the natural.
Speaker 1:So, dunamis, and then to us who believe according to the word king, that word working, there is another Greek word for power, if I can have some water, that word working is another word for power, is a Greek word energia. Somebody say energia or energy. Right, so another definition of the word power is energy. And then, towards us, we believe, according to the working of his mighty power, mighty power, two compound words for power, mighty. There, excuse me, mighty is the word iskus. It stands for strength. Somebody say strength, that's another word for power. And then the word kratos, the word power. There's a word kratos, it stands for dominion power. So when we talk about the power of God, you know dunamis, explosive power that moves like a hurricane, an earthquake, a tornado, uh, energia, supernatural energy, kratos, you know, dominion power is because the strength of God and in Luke, chapter 9, he gave them power and authority. Authority there is another Greek word exousia, delegated influence. So five Greek words of power. Now we begin to see the jurisdiction of that power. All right, oh, that's wonderful. Let's, let's just put that on the back of your head. We're gonna, we're gonna jump on it later.
Speaker 1:Acts, chapter 4, verse 33. It says and with great power. Somebody said with great power, dunamis, explosive power, power, power that moves like a tornado. The apostle gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And great grace, somebody say great grace. Great grace was upon them all. Acts, chapter 1, verse 8. But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit Well, one translation that I like says after.
Speaker 1:Somebody say after. So power comes after the Holy Spirit. Well, one translation that I like says after. Somebody say after so power comes after the Holy Spirit moves After the Holy Spirit has come upon you.
Speaker 1:Now, luke, chapter 1, verse 28 to 31. And the angel came unto her and said Hail, thou art highly favored. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women. And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be. And so verse 30 says and the angel said unto her fear not, mary, but thou has found favor with God and behold, thou shalt conceive in that womb and bring forward a son and shall call his name Jesus. But anyway, let's skip all the way to 34. Then said Mary unto the angel how shall this be seen, since I know not a man? And the angel answered and said unto her somebody said the Holy Ghost shall come upon thee and the power, somebody say, and the power of the highest shall overshadow thee, some say, and the power of the highest shall overshadow thee. Therefore, also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called son of God. Luke 1 45 it says and blessed is she that believe, for there shall be a performance. Somebody say performance, performance of those things which were told her from the Lord.
Speaker 1:All right, what we're going to segue in this message today is from John, chapter 4, verse 46 and 52. That's the story of the nobleman. So Jesus came to Cana of Galilee where he had made a water wine. And there was a certain nobleman whose son was sick at Capernaum and when he heard that Jesus had come out of Judea into Galilee, he went to him and implored him to come down and heal his son, for he was at the point of death. Then Jesus said to him unless you people see signs and wonders, you will by no means believe the no man's. The no man said to him sir, come down before my child dies. Jesus said to him go your way, your son lives. So the man believed the word. Somebody say he believed the word. He believed the word that Jesus spoke to him and he went his way. And as he was now going down, his servants met him and told him saying your son lives. Then he inquired of them the hour when he got better and they said to him yesterday, at the seventh hour, the fever left him. Amen, may the Lord bless the reading of his word.
Speaker 1:Can we stand up one more time? Is it possible to stand up one more time if you just, um raise both of your hands towards heaven and let's make this prophetic declaration together, and I want you to say this aloud, and I want you to say Father, god, in the name of Jesus Christ, I come before you. I boldly declare that I believe in the supernatural. I believe in the supernatural, I believe in miracles. This evening, lord, I ask you to give me eyes to see, ears to hear, a heart to receive, a will to obey and faith to act. In the name of Jesus Christ. I take my position in Christ and I take authority over every spirit that does not confess the name of Jesus. I command them to that. This place is an open heaven. The Spirit of God is free to move. The angels of God are ascending and descending. They're going through and through to execute the commands of God's Word. Preach Holy Spirit, teach Holy Spirit. Word. Preach Holy Spirit, teach Holy Spirit. Prophesy Holy Spirit. Heal the sick. God, do what only you can do and take all the glory in the matchless name of Jesus. Can you burn with a shout and say amen? Tell your neighbor, you may be defeated, but please don't be defeated.
Speaker 1:Charles Finney, the famous revivalist, said. He said there will be no revival if Mr Amen, if Mr Wet Eye are not present in the meeting. So I like that. I stole that, but I remixed it and made it my own, and Agipe will say that there will be no revival if Mr Amen, mr Hallelujah or Mrs Glory are not present in the meeting. I want that Mr Amen show up tonight. I want that Mr Hallelujah show up tonight. I want that Mrs Glory show up tonight. I want a Mr Hallelujah Show up tonight. I want a Mrs Glory Show up tonight.
Speaker 1:Some people come to church To spectate, some people come to church To speculate, some people come to church To pontificate, to debate. Thank you for your support. Those of you who love to think in nuances and the existential Ontological interrogative has pierced your support. Those of you who love to think in nuances and the existential ontological interrogative has pierced your thinking and you know how to move to the serendipity of the English language with oratory finesse. Somebody may be sitting watching online with three Bible concordances to find out what has been said wrong in that church tonight with a big black man in that church tonight with a big black man. It's amazing how social media has created a fallacy of unmerited celebrity. Everybody has a platform and a voice and when people write, sometimes online, you think that they sound like they're eight feet tall, but when you meet them they're like four feet tall, 800 pounds, living in their mama's basement. Thank you for your support.
Speaker 1:Some people come to church to pontificate, to debate. Some people come to church to speculate. Some people come to church to spectate, but God is looking for someone that will come in to participate. Can you participate by saying amen? Say this with me I am for signs and wonders. Isaiah 8, 18 says that here am I and the children whom the lord has given me. We are for signs and wonders in israel, from the lord of hosts who dwells in Mount Zion. But you got to make it personal. You got to say I am For signs and wonders. Say I am For signs and wonders. What's the jurisdiction? Somebody say a glorious church. What about at your house? Come on, name your family house. At the Pace family, we are for signs and wonders. Come on From the Lord, god of hosts. Who dwells where? At Glorious Church? Who dwells where? At your house? Come on, guess what you will have what you say. If you are for signs and wonders, signs and wonders are for you.
Speaker 1:You know one of my favorite miracles I love to preach about, but I'm not speaking on it, but I'm just going to just talk about it a little bit is the rooftop miracle. The rooftop miracle because it described the kind of attitude that we need to have when we're pressing in a miracle service to receive something from God. Because these guys came in carrying their paralyzed friends. These four guys came in carrying their paralyzed friend to a meeting where Jesus was, because they knew that when Jesus is somewhere, miracles always happen. And I don't know if you know that Jesus is here today and so, but you know if there was such thing called ushers, they were like there's no room, there's no room, and so, but I like their attitude. The revelation that I have about their attitude is that they have reached the point of no return.
Speaker 1:Hello, the point of no return. What is the point of no return? Hello, the point of no return. What is the point of no return when the distance required to go forward to reach your breakthrough and your miracle is shorter than the distance required to go back where you came from? Come on, somebody, I don't know who I'm talking to, but I just want you to know the distance required for you tonight to press forward and reach your breakthrough. It's shorter than your distance to go back home the way you came from. So you better turn up your faith and lose your faith. And pressing, come on, you better reach the point of no return.
Speaker 1:The statement of faith was come on, we've come too far just to go back the way we came. Oh, we've come too far just to be denied. I have too much invested in this miracle. I drove. For some of you I drove, but in their case we walk or we rode on the back of the donkey. We've come too far. Some of you, you've prayed too many prayers. You've fasted too many meals, you've given in too many offerings. Come on, now, it's not a time to quit. Come on, god is going to open the door. This is your season for your breakthrough, a season for your miracle. It's breakthrough time. So don't go back. Shout out of reach the point of no return. Come on, say the heel of faith is a good heel to die on, I'd rather be an old dog than a dead lion. I'm going to stand and believe God for something supernatural to happen, because I have too much invested in my miracle.
Speaker 1:And you have to know that the atmosphere in that meeting. It was not like there was a lot of friendly people. I'm not preaching on it, I just want to make a little point and then I'm going to segue back into what I really want to talk about, because it says that the Pharisees, the Sadducees, the teachers, the lawyers they came from all over the region and they were sitting there. How many of you know, when a Pharisee shows up, they always show up to kind of inspect to see if they could find something to criticize. If you're a modern-day Pharisee here tonight, please don't raise your hand. It's not an article. Thank you for your support. They were sitting there trying to make long faces. Thank you for your support. Horse faces, frowning, Looking at the ground, acting like a clown, hello. But then something happened. I say something happened. I say something happened Because it says that when this miracle took place, what happened is so powerful? Because when you know the attitude of the people, they were not there supporting, they came criticizing, they came looking for something wrong to accuse Jesus about. But listen to what happened. There's hope for the church in America Because it says in verse 26 of Luke, 5.
Speaker 1:Hello, it says an overwhelming astonishment and ecstasy. Sees them all, including the long faces, the frowning faces, hey, the horse faces. Thank you for your support. If you look like that, don't raise your hand. It's not an auto call. Hey, sees them all. You know what the word ecstasy? We use that to describe drug or whatever. But actually, if you look that up, one of the definitions of the word ecstasy is intense joy, intense joy. So the frown was taken off the face. So these Pharisees were like Imagine that they came with a negative attitude and sees them all. Everybody was hit with the joy, intense joy, or delight. Instead of overwhelming happiness or bliss, hello, overwhelming astonishment and ecstasy sees them all and they recognize and praise and thank God. But here's what I really came to tell you tonight before I move on to what I want to say.
Speaker 1:The Bible says and they kept saying. Somebody say they kept saying you know those of you who are very smart and a preacher repeat himself two or three times. You say okay, move on. Next point. Buddy, I already heard that If somebody comes and tells you the same story over and over again, you just go to the punchline and this is what happened Next. But the Bible says they kept saying. They kept saying. They kept saying why did? They keep saying we have seen wonderful and strange and incredible and unthinkable things today. Dick kept saying what we have seen wonderful, strange, incredible, unthinkable things today. They kept saying well, we've seen some wonderful, strange, incredible, unthinkable things today. Some of you at this meeting they ask how was the meeting with the big black man? Well, we saw some wonderful, strange, incredible, unthinkable things today. And I'm here to tell you that, having traveled the world, I've seen God do some strange, wonderful, incredible things.
Speaker 1:I remember preaching in a nation of Malaysia, muslim country, in Kuala Lumpur. I was there. I was preaching on the glory of God and then we're taking testimony, like we did this morning, and then there was a lady standing there in a testimony line holding her pants. I thought that was weird. And then she came to the microphone and she said when you were preaching on the glory of God, the power of God hit me. The middle of my abdomen started to turn and I lost weight. Now come to find out later. She lost 50 pounds in a meeting. They kept saying we have seen some wonderful, strange, incredible, unthinkable face today.
Speaker 1:So the next year I went back to Kuala Lumpur. I was preaching at a different church but I had lunch with Pastor Dan. I said, pastor Dan, tell me the lady in your church, she really lost the weight. I said, pastor Dan, tell me the lady in your church, she really lost the weight. He said, yes, yes, brother, she did. I said she lost 50 pounds. Yes, she still had the pound, she lost. Absolutely. So. Right after that lunch I went back to my hotel and I got into my hotel room and I look at heaven. I said Lord, I put my hands here. I said do it again. There was no annoying thing, there was no power. They kept saying we have seen some wonderful, strange, incredible, unthinkable things.
Speaker 1:Today I was driving my car in Dallas my phone phone rang. It was from Pakistan and there's a gentleman that you know used to lead worship in those meetings over there and they had called me earlier. He was going into surgery, a heart surgery. He was too weak to be transported into the United States and so, but anyway, now they called me when something went. They couldn't revive him after the surgery, so he was dead. So when the doctor said they couldn't do anything, the family says we have somebody that comes here that has a healing ministry. Can we please give him a call so that you know he can pray over the phone. A Muslim doctor. He said no problem. So they called me.
Speaker 1:I was driving my car in Dallas. I say give me 10 minutes, I need to be in a place where you know I can't do this in the car. Give me 10 minutes, let me drive. So I drove back home and I was with a friend and so I talked to the doctor. I said put the phone on the ear of the dead man, hello. And I started to pray in the Holy Ghost. I started to call that man back into his body. I started to speak the word. I prayed for about 25 minutes and then the connection died and then, 20 minutes later, they called me and said the man is alive. They kept saying we have seen some wonderful, strange, incredible, unthinkable things.
Speaker 1:Today, here, in November 1999, I was preaching at a little church in Watonga, oklahoma, outside of Oklahoma City, because sometimes we tell testimonies and say, yes, those miracles always happen overseas, over there. No, no, how about? Let's talk about America? I was preaching there and you know, to make a long story short, on a Saturday morning I got a phone call from one of the elders and said that Pastor Sharon was being rushed to the hospital. She had a heart attack and she was asking if you can come over and pray for her. Well, make a long story short. I show up at a hospital and I try to get into the emergency room. Three times they stopped me from going to the emergency room because I was not a close relative. So finally, after a while, what wound up happening was that, you know, I saw her husband come out with two doctors and he said to me thank you for your ministry, but Sharon is dead. They gave her 20 electric shock to try to raise her from the dead. It did not work. It did not work, and because she's been dead for over 40 minutes because of that, because of the low level of concentration of oxygen in her brain, even if she's revived at this point, she's going to be a vegetable.
Speaker 1:So I want to keep the image of my wife that I had before and so, you know, I kind of got upset. Everybody say Guipe is a nice guy. Why you guys, some of you struggle to say that my wife calls me the gentle giant. So I kind of I got a little bit upset. Because, number one, his wife made a request. Hello, something about honoring somebody's death wish. Thank you for your support. Last death wish One of the last things she requested is for the big black man, her friend, to come. And now you are going to try to block me. Thank you for your support. It's not like if I pray for her she's going to be like more dead after prayer. That's why I didn't understand the logic of not letting me go in and pray and I look at.
Speaker 1:So I said to this guy if you want to go home, you can't go home, but I'm gonna get in there and God's gonna raise her from the dead. And I look at these two doctors. I said I'm not even from here, I'm her guest and she just called. I got a phone call. That's why I'm here. Why are you stopping me?
Speaker 1:So of course, after you what they saw the way I handled the man, they said come, come, come, come, come, come. So they let me in. So I get into the emergency room. There's a dead body. There are two doctors, four nurses. The doctor said let him do whatever he wants to do. So I put one of my right here in, in the belly area, in the abdomen area, and I start to pray in tongues hello, I started to pray in tongues. Do you know?
Speaker 1:When channel four came to do a report, they came to Dallas and interview me. They went to the hospital and talked to the doctor. They said what is it that you did for this woman to come back to life? They said well, we did not do anything special. The entire time the big black man was speaking some kind of jungle language.
Speaker 1:When the woman came back to life, come on somebody. Well, I fit some descriptions, but not all of it. Big black man. I checked the box Jungle language no, I was speaking in the Holy Ghost. And this thing called the Holy Ghost it's not a jungle language. It's not even a sound that you make that resemble the name of a Japanese car like Kawasaki or Suzuki or Honda. It's not even the sound that you make that resemble like a name that you heard in a cartoon movie Hakuna Matata. This thing called the Holy Ghost is the power of God. Come on somebody. Oh, you better start to pray in the Holy Ghost. If you're not filled with the Holy Ghost, you better be baptized in the Holy Ghost, because it is the power of God. Now, when I start to pray in the Holy Ghost, let is the power of God.
Speaker 1:Now, when I started to pray in the Holy Ghost let's be fair and honest I didn't feel like I had Jay and the team giving me some support here. Thank you for your support. There was no church atmosphere, hello, there was no praise and worship, and that's what you have to understand. Listen, we need praise and worship. It makes preaching easy. It makes flowing in the Holy Ghost easy, moving the gifts easy, prophesying easy, but many of you, at 3 o'clock in the morning, when a crisis happens, you don't have the Lord say Pastor John, can you send the team over to my house Because I need an atmosphere so I can receive a breakthrough for my cats. Thank you for your support. I need to first try to sing three fast songs and two slow songs and get in the spirit. And get in the spirit Hello, your cat's probably going to be dead by then. Thank you for your support.
Speaker 1:Imagine Jesus coming down from the mountain and the leper saying Lord, I know that if you're willing, you can make me clean. And the leper said hold it. And Jesus said to the leper hold it. Right there, peter, you sing In your presence. In your presence, not that one. Hey, john, you always put your head on my chest. You know how I feel seeing something that will make me feel the anointing hello. Now listen, I'm not making fun of that. We need worship we do. But what I'm trying to say to you is that worship creates the atmosphere, but sometimes authority releases the atmosphere, that you may not have the time to create the atmosphere, but you can release the atmosphere in the name of Jesus.
Speaker 1:So I didn't feel it in that moment in that room. I didn't have the goose bump, I didn't have the hair standing on the back of my head, I didn't have, you know, the church feelings. Hello. My faith has to be instrument rated meanings, like a pilot who flies instrument. It's not about how you feel, you read the instrument. A pilot that is visual, flat with visual, he's afraid of the storm. He can't go in the cloud because he has to stay visual and spatial disorientation is a real thing within a few seconds. You don't know whether you're up or down. Your body will play tricks on you, but when you, when you know how to read the instrument, you're not afraid of the storm, you're not afraid of the cloud because you have something that could guide you. And sometimes, when the feelings are not there when the atmosphere is not there. You got the instrument called the word of God and you can stand on the word, speak the word and use your God-given authority to release the atmosphere.
Speaker 1:So I was praying in tongues and then the boldness came, hello. And then I really felt like I was myself. I didn't care anymore who was looking at me. Hello, I really prayed in tongues, really loud, that's what they thought. It was some kind of jungle language or something. I really pray in tongues really loud, that's what they thought. It was Some kind of jungle language or something.
Speaker 1:I was speaking from the top of my voice and there was a moment I yelled and I stomped my left foot on the ground. I said, sharon, get back to your body now. And Sharon said she went to heaven, walking with the Lord Jesus. And Jesus said to her Gibe is calling you. You want to go back? She said, no, I don't want to go back, I want to stay right up here. And the Lord said to you you need to go back. I still have works for you to do on the earth, hello. I still have works for you to do on the earth, hello. And at that moment we saw her left hand go from here to here. Her left leg moved and the flat line went up and down and up and down. And when Dr Jesus, when the doctor could not raise her from the dead, dr Jesus raised her from the dead. They said she's going to have brain damages. But one week later she was released from the hospital and when the media came to her church, she was playing and singing the piano. She was playing the piano and singing. How many of you know you can't do that? If you have brain damages, come on piano and singing. How many of you know you can't do that? If you have brain damages, come on.
Speaker 1:We've seen some wonderful, strange, incredible, unthinkable things today. Just a couple of weeks ago we were in Canton, ohio. We heard an amazing testimony. We have this on video A lady she was born deaf Hello, born deaf without an eardrum. Pray for her. She received her hearing back and they went back to the doctor. The doctor found a brand new eardrum in her ear. This is in the United States and a mother and a daughter standing giving testimonies. We had that on video.
Speaker 1:We have seen some wonderful, strange, incredible, unthinkable things today. Shout I am for signs and wonders Say. I am for signs and wonders. Oh, you better be for signs and wonders, because anything God has ever done, god can do it again. Anything God has ever done for anyone, god can do it for you. Anything God has ever done for anyone, god can do it for you. Anything God has ever done anywhere, god can do it right here, that if Jesus healed yesterday, he heals today, he will heal tomorrow, because Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever. Because you move the way you, you cause walls to fall. With your power, you perform miracles. There is nothing that's impossible. And we're standing here only because you made the way.
