Following God's Plan For Your Life
Have you ever wondered if God truly has a specific plan for your life? In this eye-opening message, we explore the profound reality that God designed your life's blueprint before you were even born. Drawing from Psalm 139, we discover that while still in your mother's womb, God had already written down every day fashioned specifically for you.
Let's lift up our Bibles and let's make our confession, make the devil mad and Jesus glad. Let's say this together Say Heavenly Father, I'm grateful for your word. I'm a man or woman, I'm a man of faith. There we go and I stand on your word. I put your word first place and I know that I have what I say. So I'm faithful to confess your word and activate my faith. So I stir it up this morning. I'm full of you and full of your power and full of your might. In Jesus name, amen, you may be seated.
Speaker 1:I just wanted to point out to you that this is our milestone year. How many of you have seen some milestones already? But today is the last Sunday of the first quarter, so tomorrow is the last day of the quarter. So this is 25% through 2025. Do you realize that it is? It is going by quickly. I don't know about you, but it is just flying by and um, and so I just think it's a good time to examine all of us, examine where we're at, examine where we are in the year, and I just wanted to preach a message entitled following the plan of God for your life. Following the plan of God. Are you following the plan that God has for you for this year. There's a plan that's so specific that it's wrapped up even in this year. So turn with me in your Bibles, if you have one to. Psalm 139 is where we'll start today, and Miss Nancy will put it up on the screen, elise back there directing. Thank you all for that, and I'm going to give the camera guys a workout this morning. See how good they are.
Speaker 1:All right, anyways, psalm 139. We'll start in verse 14. It says I will praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Marvelous are your works, and that my soul knows very well. You make your face to shine on me, and that my soul knows very well.
Speaker 1:Old school hill song Praise the Lord. My frame was not hidden from you. When I was made in secret and skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth, your eyes saw my substance being yet unformed, and in your book they were all written the days fashioned for me when I was yet when, when, as yet, there was none of them, in other words, even when you were in your mother's womb, before you ever came out, he already had your days fashioned and written down for you. That's how strong of a plan that he has for you. Yet there was none of them. In other words, before you even walked, he knew exactly every decision that you would make, every thought that you would have, every hair that would grow on your head or not. He knows and he knew and he keeps track of and he knows all about you. He knows what you're facing, he knows what your emotional state is and he has a plan directly for you, specifically for you, amen. And so, as I'm just speaking to the fathers in the room for a second, he has a plan specific for your family, and so I encourage you, within this message, to find the plan of God for your family and walk it out as the spiritual head of your household, amen.
Speaker 1:And so verse 17,. How precious also are your thoughts to me, o God. How great is the sum of them? If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand. So, again, you can't even count the thoughts that he has toward us.
Speaker 1:And so I've been reminded of Pastor Mark. You know he tells a story of his grandkids. So, alicia, his daughter was putting the five, you know, grandkids to bed and had them all down and everything's calm. And so she whispers to Landon, who was about five at the time, and she says God has a great plan for your life. And he shot up out of bed and he said he does, what is it? And it was just like a can of worms, right, and she was like uh, like, uh, uh, wait, you know so, anyways. So, but he does have a very specific plan for you and it's and I think some of us have lost our childlike faith to just go back and be curious.
Speaker 1:You know, uh, we get so busy doing things, going here, going there and uh, trying to please people, trying to please your boss, trying to please your spouse, trying to keep things going in your family, and you forget that God has a really specific plan and you're not seeking him for the next step. Instead, you're launching out on your own and we forget that to stay in position where he. So we are the believer and he is the performer, and that's our position that we need to stay in. Amen, and sometimes it's just so easy, even for me. I'm not preaching a condemnation message this morning. I'm preaching to myself as well to stay in the position as a believer and make sure that he's always the performer, because when you step into the role of being the performer, you're going to lose every time you're going backwards, and it takes so much effort and it takes, and you live a season of your life that way and it's really hard to accelerate back into the plan. And then you and doubt creeps in, and so I just have.
Speaker 1:Well, you know prayer phrase in first Corinthians two, verse 12, that basically that we've been given the spirit of God himself, that we can know the high things of God, we can know his thoughts, we can know his way, we can know his will, and so you know, people like to say that. Well, anyways, number one, I'll get to my points Four things to know in order to follow his plan. And number one I got right out of some of the material that Brother Jimmy teaches in our New Believers class. Know that God's plan includes having a pastor or having a shepherd, amen. And so if you don't have a pastor maybe you just walked in, maybe you just found us online and you're watching this morning, and you don't have a pastor, then that means you don't have a pasture that you're feeding in, and so, um, you know, recently I was, I was coming home from work and I looked at my yard and it was, all you know, jacked up, messed up, grass missing.
Speaker 1:It wasn't, it was just, you know, that second freeze, that second surprise freeze hit, you know, and that's just the yard had just said oh, you know, and I look at the abandoned house. We have an abandoned house in our neighborhood, but got to plead the blood of Jesus over it. I got to in faith, I got to, you know, even preach about it, so you don't find out that there's an abandoned house and start squatting there. But they mow the grass like three times a year and they had just mowed it and it was green and it was lush and it looked amazing. And the Holy Spirit's like you know, those are just weeds, right, and I was like that's right, they're just weeds. It's hard to compete with just weeds, though, because they were so green. We're never going to make yard of the month close, though If they would come in the backyard and see all of Selena's effort with the roses, then they do creep around the side of the house too, but anyways. And so people like to feed in a pasture. That's not for them and they're always looking for can I get a word, can? And they go to YouTube and they go.
Speaker 1:I think the days of like TBN and and finding flaky preachers on Christian television are kind of, you know, dimmed and so. But there's a million other ways. You know Instagram and other areas where you can find still find wrong information, and your pastor goes to a lot of effort to hear from the Lord and to shape what you hear. So I'm stepping in that role this morning. Temporarily he didn't go anywhere and so here I am this morning, stepping into his pulpit, into his role, to connect you to your destiny, to connect you to your future, to connect you to what God wants you to do today, this week, next year. That's great, but you need to know what God needs you to do today and tomorrow and this week and two weeks from now, and so that you know that you're not missing a step, that you're not exiting early. And I can just encourage you if you listen to the words, and the encouragement of my heart this morning is we're getting back, amen, and so he can. The Holy Spirit is not afraid of any mess that you hadn't gone too far or abandoned his will or walked away from his calling too far for you to be pulled back in. And so let's make it right this morning, amen.
Speaker 1:So Mark six, uh, first, well, I think I'm sorry I'm going to read it out of Matthew, but just keep in mind, as I read this out of Matthew, that the same story is in a Mark, and Jesus says this right before he feeds the 5,000. Everybody knows that story, I don't need to read that story. So in Matthew 9, 35, jesus says then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd, and so like a church with no leader right. And so he begins to say the harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Pray to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest. And so there are wonderful laborers right here in this body of Glorious Way Church, and we're here to reap that harvest, amen. And so before Jesus ever fed them physically, he fed them spiritually.
Speaker 1:And so you require spiritual food that only your pastor can give, you can share with, you, can pour into you, and so your pastor is anointed to feed you the now word of God. This is a now church. We have now faith and this is a now word. And so every Sunday, when you show up, it's a now word. And so expect it from the standpoint that you're looking forward to it, that you've adjusted your heart, that you're believing God, to hear things in this pasture that satisfy you. And so, because God's, it's not that it's going to tickle your ears, it's that it's going to change your future. It's going to change your direction. There's no growing without going to change your future. It's going to change your direction. There's no growing without changing and there's no changing without growing. And you're right here, at the right place at the right time, with the right people, learning the right information. That's going to put you over and get you where God needs you to be, amen. And so you can't do that going online and going to. You know every conference.
Speaker 1:You know, years ago, selena and I traveled out of state to a conference, and if I said the preacher's name, you would, you would all know, and so so we had never been. I think that that was our first time to that meeting, and so we, the like the first five people we talked to. One of them was even a staff member. I was curious, like hey, where, where do you go to church? And they're like this is my church. And I'm thinking like, well, this is a conference, it's once a year, this ain't a church. That's kind of weird. And so, like then we go to the next person. Hey, well, where do you go to church? Well, this is my church, this is your church. And so this isn't a church, this is a conference, this is a minister. This minister is not a pastor. This can't be.
Speaker 1:So, like you, you have to have a pastor. Amen, you must belong to a church, to a body. Amen, and not neglect the gathering together, arm in arm, serving him arm in arm. Amen. And so your pastor, the words shepherd. In the Greek it means he to whose care others have committed themselves. And so your pastor. He cares about you, he's committed to you and you're committed to him. That's why we call it Commitment Sunday. You know, we go through new members' classes and we teach people, we pour into them for about four weeks and then they make a commitment. You know, give me a year of your life. My dad says right, he got that, you know so all those years ago, and so that's what we do around here.
Speaker 1:And so, again, if you don't have a pastor, you're not following God's plan. And so, wow, I just messed up and lost my notes, but I have a backup right here. Let me find where I was. Thank you for technology, lord. Your pastor is God's ordained voice in your life. And so, number two, know that God indeed has a plan for you. And so, if you'll turn with me to Ephesians 3, we're just going to go through I think it's 3 through 14, and verse by verse, and we're going to pull out the plan of God. We're going to pull out some more points as we go, but in order to follow God's plan, you've got to be certain, with 100% certainty, that he does have a plan. Now we just read that in Psalm 139, and so we already know that.
Speaker 1:But just realize that almost every single one of these verses that we're about to read, first of all, it's one thought from the Apostle Paul. So this he's writing to the church of Ephesus there was a lot of error in that church. My dad just went over that, I think recently, and so, and he was explaining God's plan to them. That it? What did it? That God's plan didn't just include the Jews? So this was new information, this was a fresh revelation straight from heaven to Paul Amen. And so it says in verse oh, I'm sorry, one more thing. Just every single one of these verses points out something that is past tense. In other words, it's already happened, and so just receive that. As we're going through this, don't forget that.
Speaker 1:It says in verse 3, ephesians 1, 3, blessed be the God and the Father of our Lord, jesus Christ, who has blessed us, already blessed us. What's? He blessed us with Every spiritual blessing in heavenly places, in christ. And you're, you're, you're like well, that's great, but I can't pay my rent this month or I can't make my car payment this month. How is that going to help me? Everything that you see in the natural realm comes from and comes out of the spiritual realm, amen. So you've already received every spiritual blessing. So I think if you go all the way back to the book of Genesis, if we would take, you know, the rest of the week, I could just preach all week long. I'm just kidding. Genesis to Revelation.
Speaker 1:But in Genesis it mentions the word blessing 88 times. So right off the bat, in the beginning, god wanted you blessed. That was his plan. His plan is for you to be blessed. His plan is for you to not lack for any good thing. We don't lack for wisdom, we don't lack for opportunity. We never lack for money, amen. And so everything we see with our natural eyes comes from the spiritual realm, and so your spiritual blessing already existed.
Speaker 1:So I just wanted to read the definition back in the Hebrew of the word blessed out of the book of Genesis. It means to be empowered to prosper in every sphere of life. That means in everything right, in everything, in every way, in every direction, in every opportunity. There's nothing that you can lack in if you're blessed in every sphere of life, empowered, you're not dependent on people, and so God knows exactly how to get a blessing to you. He knows your address in the Spirit, and so it flows down from him through his son, through the sacrifice that Jesus made directly to you, and so we're identified with Jesus.
Speaker 1:All of these scriptures almost there's lots of in Christ scriptures. The one we just read was an in Christ scripture, verse three. And so we do that. We receive our blessing by being in Christ, amen, verse four. Uh, just as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world that we should be holy and without blame before him in love. So he chose us in him before the foundation of the world.
Speaker 1:So God has the solution to every single problem that you're facing right now. He already solved the sin issue. It's already been solved. He already sent Jesus, and so you've already been redeemed. You've already been justified. That word justified means just as if I'd never sinned, and so there is no sin problem. There is no issue with you accessing the throne of God Amen, through the blood. And so why are we still hanging out on the side? Why haven't we just jumped in? Why aren't we fully committed with both feet into the plan that God has for us? Why do we have no reason to doubt God's word? Amen, amen. And so God knew that we needed a relationship, and he solved that problem. We have a direct relationship with God through Jesus Christ, amen. We're connected to God himself, we're connected to his plan, and it's through the sacrifice that Jesus made you see that Amen.
Speaker 1:So verse five having predestined us to adoption as sons and daughters by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will this ain't Chick-fil-A the good pleasure. It's his good pleasure. No, it's my good pleasure. No, it's your good pleasure. No, you don't have to argue about it, it was his good pleasure. It brings him pleasure. In other words, to give you the sacrifice of Jesus. We've been predestined.
Speaker 1:People get hung up on that word and they think that free will can't exist if we've been predestinated. So if God had everything pre-planned, then free will doesn't exist. No, they exist together. They're two different things. God knows everything. So why would you doubt if God created you? Why do you doubt the fact that he knows everything about you, like we covered earlier? Why would you doubt that? So he knows everything about you. He knows every thought that you have, et cetera. That you know. So you still have free will. He just knows what decision you're going to make. He knows what mistake you're going to make. He knows how you're going to miss it. But in the next chapter, in verse four, it says that he's rich in mercy. Amen, he is rich in mercy. He knows how to take you out of that pit that you created on your own. You know, and and yank you out and set you right back in place.
Speaker 1:You know, uh, dealing with young people and ministering to young people uh, selina and I for decades now. Um, she is, for sure, the youth pastor. I just wanted to like set that record straight. But you know you're dealing with young people. I'm not picking, I'm not thinking about anybody that's in our youth group right now, but you'll have a young person who has two parents at home that love them, that both work to provide really good clothes.
Speaker 1:They have all the latest everything. They've got food in the refrigerator and they lack for nothing. They can go learn any instrument or go to play any extracurricular activity that you can think of. They have it made and they're cutting on themselves. They don't know who they are. They've allowed the devil to lie to them. They have an identity crisis. And then you have another person and they don't know who they are, that they've allowed the devil to lie to them. They have an identity crisis. And then you have another person and they don't have a dad they've never known who had. You know their daddy abandoned them a long time ago. They don't have every day. They don't have enough food to eat. They don't have any of the latest and the greatest. They got holes in their socks and they you know, and there they are. They're right up there in the front and the hands raised and they're worshiping and they're entering in and they have that grateful heart. They have that thankful heart and it's all. It's just a heart thing, and so it's so much. It brings joy to my heart to take both cases and show them who they really are in Christ.
Speaker 1:Amen, that's all of our jobs, that's not just a minister's job, that's every everybody in this church is a supply, a supply to hurting people that walk through that door. We should all be first to encourage and know how to pour into somebody and change somebody's destiny and change somebody's future. And all of us really act like that. You know I've encouraged the gatekeepers from time to time that you're a pastor over your section, you know. So you have, you know the little crook that you know, and you're pulling people back in, you're checking on people, you're if they're out, you know a couple weeks, hey, how you doing. You know, can I help you with anything, can I pray with you about anything, and so it takes all of us to look after one another. Amen and so, and there's nothing wrong with that, amen. So I don't know how I got back off into being a pastor.
Speaker 1:But hey, here we are. We're just preaching verse six. Well, we'll go back to verse five, that we are sons and daughters. We're not outsiders. Amen, You're not on the outside. He's called you son and a daughter, or a daughter rather.
Speaker 1:Verse six, to the praise of the glory of his grace, by which he made us accepted in the beloved. So the motivation of God is always grace. You know, grace is God's grip on us and faith is our grip on him. And thank God, his grip is always stronger. But his grace, his supernatural favor and ability, he's never going to let that go. He's never going to let go of us. Amen. And so to the praise of the glory of his grace, amen. So we are his beloved, we're accepted into his family and we've been made one with him.
Speaker 1:And so act like it, walk like it, talk like it. It should be obvious. You know, brother Jimmy Smith and I were talking last night and he mentioned it was Psalm six. Right, that talks about. You know, we've been crowned with glory and honor. We've been crowned, we have a crown of glory and honor. Why would you allow somebody, why would you allow the devil to talk you into taking it off? No, we've been crowned with his glory and his honor and so that means it's obvious to everybody everywhere you go. There's a difference. There's a difference in your countenance, there's a difference in your attitude. You show up to that work meeting, to the. You know the CEO calls a meeting and you step in and to that room. There's a difference. You know exactly who you are. There's an attitude of faith.
Speaker 1:You know one of my good friends in ministry. He travels, but his real job is he develops apps for Fortune 500 companies, you know, like phone apps. And so he was in a meeting with the CEO I think it was the beginning of 2023, and he just the Holy Spirit came all over him and he's kind of prophesied without saying thus, saith the Lord. He didn't get all flaky, but he's like we're going to double this year. I think it was 2024. We're going to double in sales this year. And the CEO like looked at him like that's impossible, what are you talking about? But he was adamant about it and by March he went to the CFO and they were on track to double. And he kept going back and at the end of the year they came back and like Gary, you were, you know, you hit that nail on the head. How, how did you know that? You know? And he, they know he's a believer. But then he was able to give God the credit after they doubled.
Speaker 1:So I'm talking about the spirit of wisdom and revelation is already on you. It's going to make a difference in every single direction, everywhere you step foot, amen. And so you just think you're working for your boss, but if you look at it like you're working for God and everything that you do, he blesses you. Therefore, he blesses the company that you're working for, and you're able to make a difference and change the culture of your company, of wherever you're at, and for God's good, amen, amen. So the motivation of God is always grace, and God did what we couldn't do. So don't, don't Again. You know you can't do anything on your own, but you've got to realize that he already bought it, he already paid for it, amen. You know, when you go out to eat and you're with somebody else and they're they're going to pay the bill, you know that steak tastes a little bit different, doesn't? It Tastes a little bit better when somebody else is paying for it.
Speaker 1:And I see Mr Larry Bean here. We went over to their house, all of their family. One time they invited us over and they cooked steak and crab and all kinds of things and that's the first time I tried blue cheese on top of a filet. That was amazing. Man changed my life. Hallelujah, thank you, brother. Larry, that wasn't a hint of you know, inviting us over Didn't mean it to be that way. Hallelujah, here we go. Moving on.
Speaker 1:Number three, his plan redeemed us. Verse seven in him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins according to the riches of his grace. So he talks about redemption. It talks about blood. Again, we have the forgiveness of sins. And how is it? It's according to, or through the riches of his grace. There's that word grace again. So redemption simply means to buy back. In him we have redemption through the blood. It's the blood of Jesus that is the currency that purchased our freedom. So never lack in faith in the blood, always put, in other words, always put faith in the blood, because faith is a currency that purchased your freedom. And so we honor the blood. We sing about the blood, amen. And we talk about the blood. Almost every single service, the blood of Jesus. It will never lose its power. Amen, that means there's power in the blood, and so, if, if we can tap into that power, we have God's power living on the inside of us. Amen.
Speaker 1:And so there's not one thing that I've ever done or could do that the blood won't cleanse. In other words, maybe you you face some mistakes in your life, maybe you've you've missed it and lost track and you're thinking, man, this is the end. And you know, god is never going to look to Jesus and say, uh-oh, did you see Martha down there? She really missed it. You're going to have to go back. Jesus, I got to send you back. You got to do it all over again. No, he's already done it.
Speaker 1:Whatever you've done, there's nothing that you've done that's too much, or what happened to Jesus is always greater than anything that you've ever done or that could ever happen to you. The blood of Jesus is greater. So maybe you were neglected or abused as a child. Maybe you faced serious things, like I was saying. You know, people face some things that are more serious than others. Sometimes it's made up things and sometimes it's real things, but the blood of Jesus covers them all, amen. And so tap into the power of that blood, amen.
Speaker 1:And so verse 8, which he made to abound. So what is okay? Let's read these together In him we have redemption through the blood, the forgiveness of sins according to the riches of his grace, which he made to abound toward us. In all wisdom and prudence, in all wisdom, everybody say all. So grace is the simplest, in its simplest form.
Speaker 1:Is God abounding towards man? His grace abounds towards me, amen. His favor abounds towards me, his wisdom abounds towards me, amen. And so God is running towards you. He's not running away from you, he's not hiding from you. He's right here to take you in, to give you a big hug and pull you in and welcome you home and welcome you back to your obedience of following his plan, amen. And so he's about. You know, his grace is abounding towards us. Let's say that together.
Speaker 1:God's grace is abounding towards me. I make it personal. It abounds towards me, his wisdom abounds towards me. I walk in his wisdom, I walk in his ways. Hallelujah, hallelujah. And you know God's grace there's never. He never lacks in grace, he never lacks in mercy, he never lacks in wisdom.
Speaker 1:All you got to do is grab a hold of it, so God's grace is able to meet whatever you're facing, whatever situation you've come up against this morning, god's grace is able to meet it. So you just really do have to lean back your whole. You know the amplified Bible. You know Selena makes fun of me because I say this almost every time I preach, but it says my one of my favorite things out of the amplify is to lean back your whole entire human personality back into him. And why is that my favorite thing? Cause I need to do that a lot, a lot. And so if I need to do that, man, I've faced some things in life where I've realized that I am not saying I'm a man of faith, but faith ain't coming out of my mouth. And we, you know, thank God, we have a staff. You know, every now and then, if I let you know, doubt or unbelief come out, they're gonna. Hey, jay, have you thought about you know? So thank y'all for that. I remember, uh, miss Irma's really good at that, but anyways, we're glad to have her back. She thought she was retiring and she was just refiring. She just wanted the retirement gifts and so forth and so on. Took me forever to turn all of her computer privileges and all that off and then turn around and turn it all back on. It's like what steps did I go through? Oh man, all right.
Speaker 1:Verse 9, having made known to us the mystery of his will, who's tired and just wants to go home, let's keep going right. Let's get some wisdom out of this. Having made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure. There it is again his good pleasure, which he purposed in himself. You know, mysteries were in the old covenant, the old testament, and now, like I said earlier, we can know his thoughts through the outpouring. We have the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. So we're grabbing a hold. It's about to go on and talk more about us being sealed in the Holy Spirit, but we have his spirit on the inside of us. Therefore, nothing is a mystery anymore. So you know the Lord works in mysterious ways, brother. No, he doesn't. It's obvious. When you know him, when you're in his word every day and you're allowing his character to become part of you and you're renewing your mind to his word, then you can think his thoughts, then you can know, you can follow the leading of the Holy Spirit and get to where he needs you to go. Amen.
Speaker 1:And so people like to make, make God sound like he's mysterious, like he's hiding, you know, in the burning bush, you know so, moses, like he had to turn. He had to turn towards God. God was speaking to him. As soon as he turned, boom, he saw him. You know like, but like he saw him, so he's never a mystery. He was always right here. You have to follow his voice, follow his leading. Amen, hallelujah.
Speaker 1:And verse 10, that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times, he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth. In him there's another in him, scripture, right. So you and I, that's just simply. It's really a lot clearer in the NLT or any other. You know, people get scared of the word dispensation. That just means a period of time, simply, and there's different dispensations Anyways. So that just basically means that Jesus hadn't come back yet, right. So until he, you know, we get a preview of, we get a preview of what's happening when he does come back, right, and so we can look ahead and know the joys that we're going to experience, as you know, during the rapture.
Speaker 1:Who else is looking forward to the rapture? Amen, amen. There's some wisdom that we walk in. You know my dad, like when he first got saved, we started living that lifestyle. Like you know, the rapture is going to happen at any moment, you know. And so, uh, pastor Mark kind of now that he's older, he kind of makes fun of people that have done you know people. But there's, there's wisdom in in, in living prudently.
Speaker 1:But at the same time, we're looking for, we are looking for, we're excited that we're about to rule and reign for a thousand years with them. We're going to go up in the rapture together, amen, amen my parents aren't going to beat me we're going to go up together, amen, I'm looking forward to it. And so in him verse 11, also, we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated there's that word again according to the purpose of him, who works all things according to the counsel of his will. So again also, we have obtained there it is again past tense, already been done an inheritance, because it's in him and we're living in Christ, we've stepped into him. Therefore we have our inheritance. So you know, one day, my dad, you know, we're going to go up in the rapture together.
Speaker 1:But if not, there is a natural inheritance that we will receive. But I don't have to wait till then to receive my spiritual inheritance. Every service, all of us are included in this, and we're receiving a spiritual inheritance from our pastor, and so I'm already on that road of receiving amen, and so everybody in this place is able to receive that same inheritance. It's a spiritual inheritance, and so that's in the spiritual wisdom that he walks in, we can receive, and so, and he gets his inheritance straight from God, and we can too, when we, when we he's, you know our pastor lives in a as an example in front of us, and so you know there's, there's, that's, that's a greater inheritance that comes from our father. Amen, hallelujah.
Speaker 1:Verse 12, that we who first trusted in christ should be to the praise of his glory. That leads us to verse 13, which is my number four. His plan requires trust, and it says in him you also trusted past tense. There it is again past, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise. So if you're walking out the plan of God, trust is required. Amen.
Speaker 1:Trusting God, but also trusting his plan, you can't think like, oh, I don't really want to follow God's plan, I want to go do this, that's rebellion, that's a heart problem. Then you have to spend some time in God's word and spend some time praying in the Holy Spirit in your prayer language. That's not anywhere in my notes, but you're building yourself up. When you feel rebellious, know that's the enemy trying to get you off track, or your own flesh. So you've got to squash that. How do you squash that? By rising greater than that, by praying in other tongues, building yourself up. The book of Jude says Jude 1.22, you're building yourself up on your most holy faith, amen. And so trust is required to walking in his plan.
Speaker 1:I think trust sometimes is a missing ingredient. I think I've seen it. We know a thing or two. Cause we've seen a thing or two in 30 years. I'll steal state farms or no, it's farmers, farmers, insurance Know a thing or two like and it's happened to us too you know the storms of life come and the wind blows and you might forget for a brief second to trust in God and then, like I said earlier, you can go. That maybe starts for a day and two days, but then you get to a week and then you go two weeks and you really haven't stopped to remember to trust in God, trust in His Word. He does exactly what he said he was going to do. He never goes back on His Word, amen.
Speaker 1:And so all you have to do is trust in Him and that's something that you can put on, that's a mindset that you can walk into, trusting in God, and without it you can't get very far. Without it. That's where doubt and when doubt comes, then unbelief comes, and then it moves from your head to your heart and you're in a real bind, and so don't allow it. You can have doubt in your head with faith in your heart and still operate, but it's a hard thing when that transfers. When you allow that doubt to get into your heart, boom, you've exited. You've exited his plan and you're off, and you're thinking off, and stinking thinking gets you stinking results. And so we need God results, we need God's plan, we need God's anointing, and it's. You know, pastor, has been talking about all about the anointing, the anointing within and the anointing upon, and we cannot be neglecting in, uh, developing and nurturing the anointing within. And so when you do that, you are putting doubt and fear to rest and you're not picking it up again. Amen, amen, and so real quick. The Holy Spirit brings us new life.
Speaker 1:Talking about sorry, oh, the seal, yeah, go back to you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise. You know, glorious Way Church is an incorporation, so we have an incorporation seal. Anytime we do really important documents meeting minutes or something they get sealed. I performed the ceremony, the wedding, for Chinadu and Jenna Uba on Friday. I went to sign their marriage license. The state of Texas has the state of Texas seal. It's a legal document. This is a legal thing. Has the state of Texas seal. It's a legal document. So this is a legal thing. That's a supernaturally legal thing that you've been stamped with God's approval, through the power of the Holy Spirit. You've been made redeemed, you've been made righteous.
Speaker 1:Just think about it. It's a prequel of things to come, if the Holy Spirit is. It talks about this in the next verse. So I'm getting ahead of myself. But just think of the power of the Holy Spirit. It talks about this in the next verse, so I'm getting ahead of myself. But just think of the power of the Holy Spirit, it being our down payment. Let's just read it. Who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession to the praise of his glory that word glory again.
Speaker 1:Amen. His ability and his favor. The Holy Spirit is the down payment of our inheritance, and so, when you think about how good the Holy Spirit is, it's just a preview of everything that we're going to receive. Amen. So we're receiving God's glory, we're receiving his goodness. The Holy Spirit brings new life, he brings a new infilling, he brings comfort, he brings a supernatural way of communication. He's our GPS, he's our, our, our global, you know our godly global positioning system. Amen. He leads us right where we need to go, and he even brings us supernatural love through the power of the Holy Spirit, amen. And so it's just a preview of things to come so we can get excited about that. Amen. How's this blessing you? So far, all right.
Speaker 1:So one, one thing I just wanted to do. I'm kind of, I'm kind of wrapped up. I'm go through my points one more time, but just I'm going to point out all of the things, all the past tense versions of of the words here, and keep in mind, like I said earlier, it's already been done In verse three. He's already blessed us In verse four. You have been chosen. He already chose us. Verse five having predestined us. Verse six hath made us accepted Verse seven we have redemption. Verse eight he hath abounded towards us. Verse nine having made known to us the mysteries of his will towards us. Verse nine having made known to us the mysteries of his will Verse 11, we have obtained an inheritance. Verse 13,. We were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise. Verse 14, we were given the earnest down payment of our inheritance. It's already been done. All you got to do is grab a hold of it. It's already been done. Amen, amen.
Speaker 1:And so, in order to know his plan, you got to have a pasture. You got to know that there is a plan. And then, you order to know his plan, you got to have a pastor. You got to know that there is a plan. And then you got to know that you're redeemed. And you got to know, you got to learn how to trust Amen. So I hope that helped you this morning. Amen, how was that? Let's just lift our hands and receive the word of God. Hallelujah, father, what a joy it is to stand in this pulpit and pour out your spirit, pour out your revelation. Lord, lord, I thank you that we're at the right place at the right time, right where we need to be.
