A Sound Mind
Have you ever considered that Jesus bore a tormented mind on the cross specifically so you could experience mental peace? In this transformative message, we dive deep into what Scripture reveals about having a "sound mind" in an age of anxiety and confusion. The biblical promise that "God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind" (2 Timothy 1:7) isn't just a nice sentiment—it's your spiritual inheritance. With the average person experiencing 60,000-80,000 thoughts daily, the battle for your mind is real. But you don't have to fight this battle in your own strength.
Let's start out in prayer, father. We just thank you, lord, for your word. We thank you, father, that you gave us your very best. You gave us Jesus, your one and only Son, and so we just thank you, father. We don't take these moments for granted. In your presence, father, in your word, we thank you that our hearts are open to receive what you have tonight. Our ears are open. I thank you, lord, that it's not my words, but it's you working through me, and so we're just vessels being used by you, and so we thank you that the victory is ours. We're overcomers. We're the head and not the tail, above and not beneath, and so our greatest days are ahead of us. In Jesus' name, amen, amen, amen.
Speaker 1:And so tonight, if you're taking notes, I'm a note taker. I'm old school, not like all the techie stuff, and I have an iPad, but I still sometimes revert to my just good old note taking and journaling good old note-taking and journaling. But the title of my message tonight is A Sound Mind. A Sound Mind, you know, it's estimated that an average person has like 60 to 80,000 thoughts a day, and we have a bunch of thoughts. We think a lot, and so God has something to say about what we're thinking on and what we're meditating on. And 2 Timothy 1.7,. I put up some scriptures for you guys. I don't know if you there, you go, I put the brain up there. Of course it's pink.
Speaker 1:The key verse is 2 Timothy 1.7. 2 Timothy 1.7 in the New King James says For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. Isn't that good, a sound mind? And so you know, your mind was not forgotten about in redemption. You know he Jesus, when he was up on that cross, he bore a tormented mind. He bore he didn't just bear, you know, sickness and disease, but he bore a tormented mind. And so we have to know that we don't. That's, that is not part of what we've been like, we've been redeemed from so much, and part of that is hey, we don't have to have a, we don't have to go through this life with a tormented mind, with a, with a mind that is uneasy. God wants us to have a sound mind, and so thank God for his word. You know his word is where right thinking is, and so we have to take these thoughts right, his thoughts written down, and make them our own. And so part of our inheritance is a sound mind, not a troubled mind. To have a sound mind.
Speaker 1:It's so easy to say that right, so easy to read this scripture, but how many of y'all know, a lot of people don't have a sound mind. They're walking through life with a tormented mind, with a mind that's wavering, a mind that's confused, fearful. And so here he says hey, god hasn't given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and of a sound mind. And so fear, fear, is a spirit that we have complete authority over, like we don't. We have to make sure that that doesn't creep in. A lot of times we think of fear like this big, you know, huge thing, but it can just creep in here and there, like fear of talking to somebody about Jesus, or fear to talking to that family member, or fear of, you know, whatever it may be. There's so many phobias, but that comes from the pit of hell. And so God hasn't given us a spirit of fear, but a power of love and a sound mind.
Speaker 1:In the Amplified version of 2 Corinthians 1, I'm sorry, 2 Timothy 1, 7, the Amplified says for God did not give us a spirit of timidity, of cowardice, of craving and cringing and fawning fear. But he has given us a spirit of power and of love and of a calm and well-balanced, and discipline and self-control. So he wants us to have a calm, a well-balanced mind, and so we have a responsibility to play. We have a responsibility toward our sound mind, right, and so we have to make sure that our responsibility is to hold our mind in soundness. And so I wrote this down.
Speaker 1:But every test in life is going to call for an answer, right. Every wrong thought that we have, every troubling thought. I mean, have you all had troubling thoughts? We've all had, right? Every troubling thought, every bad thought. You can't just leave it there. You're gonna have to answer it. Every troubling thought. It's going to require an answer. And so God's, you know what the good news is God's empowered us, he's empowered you, you can do it, and so we need to become more skillful in answering opposition. The enemy throws things your way, and you have to answer it. You have to stand your ground. When opposition shows up and it will, and it does you have to stand your ground and make sure your mind isn't wavering.
Speaker 1:Second Corinthians 10, three through five in the New King James says, for though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh, for the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty in God, for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, exalts itself against the knowledge of God and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. And so notice that phrase pulling down of strongholds. And so a lot of people have a misunderstanding of what strongholds are. But verse 5, if you usually read verse 5, it tells us what they are. They're wrong imaginations, they're wrong thoughts or reasonings contrary to the word of God, and so wrong ways of thinking are strongholds and they must be dealt with. You can't just leave a wrong thought there floating in your brain. They have to be dealt with. They have to be dealt with, and so it's so important to deal with those. And so even things you know, things the enemy will suggest to your mind that are contrary towards the word of God, wrong imaginations, those can trouble your life, and so you have to make sure, and then they become a stronghold over you. But it takes a daily crucifying the flesh, digging into the Word of God, renewing your mind in the Word of God, to make sure that doesn't become a stronghold. And so we can. You know, god gave us an imagination. You can imagine yourself healed. You can imagine yourself having a wonderful marriage. You can imagine yourself having a wonderful day at the job, right? You can imagine yourself just getting along with everybody. You can use your imagination for so many good things. And so we have to make sure that we use our imagination for the right thing, right. And so, again, I'm talking about having a calm, a disciplined, a sound mind. And so this is how we do it.
Speaker 1:Ignorance of God's word produces wrong thinking, and wrong thinking produces wrong believing, right. And so the devil thrives on ignorance. He thrives on it. He's counting on us to be ignorant, you know, because he has this God has a plan for our life, but then the enemy has a plan for our life, and so we have to make sure that we're not on his plan. And so ignorance produces wrong thinking and wrong believing, and so that opens the door to the enemy.
Speaker 1:And so pastor talked about this morning, you know, ignorance. You can, you're ignorant of the word or you like, ignore, right, you don't pay attention. And so we have to make sure that we're paying attention to the word, that we're not ignoring it and that we're not ignorant of the word. And so if you come here on Sunday mornings, I mean you're going to get fed the meat of the word. I mean you're going to get told the truth around here, right.
Speaker 1:And so how many of y'all are thankful for our pastor? Like he tells us, yeah, he tells us like it is. I'm thankful. I'm thankful to have a pastor that tells us the truth, that tells us the end time word, that doesn't just beat around the bush, like he tells us straight up the truth, and so that's how it should be. And so the enemy thrives on ignorance or ignoring the word. And so right thinking is thinking in line with the word of God, and that's what's going to keep the door closed on the enemy, right, when you're thinking in line with the word of God.
Speaker 1:Simple little things that I'm talking about tonight, but I wouldn't be talking about them if we didn't do them right. There are so many issues, there are so many problems that we're faced with nowadays, but it's just like pastor says what does the word say? Go back to the word. It's the simplicity of the gospel, of the word of God, read your Bible, pray, meditate on the word, and so we have to make sure that we're doing that. Let me read to you out of this book by Rick Renner he's a Greek scholar. Last day survival guide I'm going to have to put on my glasses Talks about actually hold on. I'm going to read it in the next 2 Corinthians, if you turn with me to 2 Corinthians 4.4.
Speaker 1:And so we have to bring every thought into captivity, into the obedience of Christ. The enemy can't operate through right thinking. Right. So how do we get right thinking? We dig into the word of God, right, and so we have to make sure, when a thought comes, don't let it loose in your life. Right, does it line up with the Word of God? That's what you ask. Does this thought that I'm thinking right now line up with the Word of God? And if it doesn't, you have to be aggressive and replace that thought with the Word, or that thought with the word, or that thought can hold you captive.
Speaker 1:Right, I was raised in a home where there were all kinds of words coming out, right, and a mom who served God and a dad who didn't, and so I got both sides of the coin, right, we got a hallelujah, hallelujah, glory of Dios. And then I'm not going to tell you. My dad said I can't say that in church. But you know what, growing up as a kid, that confuses a kid Little, heads up for all the parents that you think you can just say whatever you want in a home and you think the kid's going to grow up like thank, thank God that I had a mama, you know, praying, and I was open to the truth of the word and brought to you know church and learned about the word as a little girl. But growing up in a home where just words are thrown, you know you can't take those words back.
Speaker 1:Right, we do this illustration in kids' church or whatever. Right, we get a tube of toothpaste and you squeeze the toothpaste. Now how are you going to get that toothpaste back in the tube? Those words are spoken. Right, now you can have a meeting and you can say I'm sorry and that's great and there's a road to forgiveness, right, but those words are spoken, we heard them, you said them. Now, that's put me on a path to where I have to. Now, you know, oops, now I have to. Hey, go to the word. I forgive Lord, I'm gonna walk. I'm gonna walk by faith, not by sight.
Speaker 1:And so once you say words, like you know thoughts, you may have a thought. That's why it's so important to hold back, and I'm going to talk about that. Like you have a thought, hold it right. Do I really have to say those words that I just thought? Hold it right there. And so it's so important to stop it right there, to bring every thought into captivity, into the obedience of Christ. It's so important thought into captivity, into the obedience of Christ. It's so important. It changes, you know, the DNA. You don't want it to.
Speaker 1:When words are just spoken, when thoughts are just let loose and words are just let loose, and there's no, there's no restraint there. It changes the course of your life. Or it can, and so we have to make sure to bring every thought into captivity, or it can, and so we have to make sure to bring every thought into captivity, into the obedience of Christ. And so, again, the enemy can't operate through right thinking right, and so we just have to make sure that we're in the word. We're reading our scripture, reading our Bible. Does that thought, ask yourself, does that thought line up with the word of God. Oh, but you don't know my situation, selene. You don't know what they did. It doesn't matter. Love your enemies, pray for those who persecute you, you know. And so there's always a scripture to everything, and so we have to make sure that every thought lines up with the word of God. So 2 Corinthians 4.4 in the New King James says whose minds the God of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel, of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them. And so I wanted to read now. I wanted to read um, the last day survival guide here. The Last Days Survival Guide here, page 66. Oh, I can see now Somebody turned on the lights. Thank you, appreciate it. Let there be light. Okay, reaching people who are let me just read just a couple of chapters here. Reaching people who are blind to the truth.
Speaker 1:I once watched a television interview with a very famous individual who is well known for his public opposition of biblical teaching. During the conversation, the interviewer asked this famously rich person for his opinion about the state of the world today. I was shocked to hear how he answered. The man replied that the world is, in general, had never been in a better shape than it is right now. As evidence to support his claim, he specifically mentioned the shift of morality away from the traditional values, the widespread acceptance of same-sex marriage and the emergence of on the political and economic scene of a one world system that he believed will turn the planet into an altogether better place. I was stunned at his answers.
Speaker 1:I wondered how can anyone be so blind to what is taking place in the world today? There does seem to be a very real form of blindness that causes a person not to see what is happening in this modern age. What really amazes me is that often the people who make these comments are actually intellectually brilliant. As I listened to this man speak, I wondered how can people be so smart and yet so blind to the truth? But the Holy Spirit reminded me of Paul's words in 2 Corinthians 4.4, where he wrote In whom the God of this world has blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. According to Paul, some people really are blind to the truth.
Speaker 1:When Paul wrote that Satan has blinded the minds of unbelievers, he chose the Greek word tuflo I don't know how to pronounce these words For the word blinded. This is a very important because the word uh to flow um doesn't just depict a person who is unable to see. Rather, it vividly portrays a person who has been intentionally blinded by someone else, someone who has deliberately removed that that individual's eyes and permanently blinded him. This person has just lost sight. He has no eyes to see.
Speaker 1:And so Paul continued by saying that Satan blinded the minds of them which believe, not the word minds in the Greek, pneuma, which is a form of the word nous. The word nous simply means mind. However, as the word pneuma noema sorry it is no longer refers to the physical mind, but rather denotes the thoughts, the reasonings, the opinions, the feelings, the beliefs or views that a person holds, state that Satan has gouged out the spiritual eyes of skeptics and unbelievers to such a degree that it has affected their ability to see things correctly. Their thoughts, reasoning, opinions, feelings, beliefs and views of what they experience and perceive are obstructed, hindered and impeded. As a result, they are blinded from a correct view of the way things really are. And so then he goes on to say you know, pray for the Holy Spirit to open their spiritual eyes so they can see the truth. So there you see how it portrays, you know, their thoughts, their reasonings, their opinions, their feelings. So when you read this scripture it's so deep you know that their eyes are gouged out, that they don't, they're blinded.
Speaker 1:And so you know, it can be so easy to we have to. You know, we're a spirit being and a lot of times, you know, we can slip back into associating with the natural, and so we have to make sure that, oh, that's just the natural thing to do. Well, that's what everybody does and that's how everybody thinks. And you know, if it makes me happy, well then that's no. No, we have to make sure that it's the word of God, right. And so to not we slip back into the natural, we must hold on to our faith in God's word. Right To hold fast to what the word says, because wrong thoughts will draw you out of faith, right, they'll draw you out, because if you're thinking wrong, you're really not in faith, right. And so we have to make sure, and what pleases God, faith pleases God, right. And so we have to make sure that we're, that we stay in the arena of faith and not slip into wrong thinking, right, and so it's not just a.
Speaker 1:You know, it's so detrimental to really to pull down any kind of imaginations, wrong thinking, and to cast those down, to be aggressive about it, right, so not to take the enemy's thoughts, and I wrote this down you can't overcome thoughts with thoughts. You overcome wrong thoughts by speaking God's word. You can't outthink wrong thoughts oh, that's my silly little uh. You can't, can't outthink wrong thoughts. You have to answer them with a word. Well, I'm just going to outthink that wrong thought and not say anything. And if I didn't say it, I just thought it, I just no, because, no, right, it's part of your belief system. So we have to make sure that we don't just out thinking like. We have to speak the word of God and use your authority, take every circumstance that comes your way and use your authority on that.
Speaker 1:And so we have to become skillful at using our authority. Like many, you see famous people, or you see track stars and you see they didn't get skillful at their sport or at their, you know. Or a chef, they didn't get, you know, a chef doesn't. I'm a wannabe chef, but the more I cook, the more I bake, the more I know those recipes, the more I become skillful in those recipes. So if I'm never in the kitchen and never bake or never cook, I would not be skillful in that you would not want to taste my cooking. But if I cook and bake a lot, I do like to bake more. I like to do both actually. But we have to become skillful, right.
Speaker 1:And so we have to become skillful in using our authority. We can't just think about it, we can't just, you know. Okay, you know, pastor said this and I'm going to keep silent about it. No, you have to be skillful in using your authority. You have to know how to stand your ground when tough times come. You have to know how to stand your ground.
Speaker 1:And so you have to practice using your faith, practice answering wrong thoughts. You know, like, if that thought comes and you're like, maybe thinking about what somebody else is thinking about, or or caring about what like, no, I thank you, lord, that I'm fearfully and wonderfully made. I don't care what they're thinking their, their opinion isn't final, you know, say on what my life, and so it's what your word says. And so you have to guard that sound mind and you have to guard your peace, you know, god's given us this supernatural peace and we have to guard it. We can't sometimes you just have to shut off the news and shut off. I mean, you do have to be informed, but if you just scroll through Facebook and you just scroll through all that, you can get bogged down, right. And so it's like you know, I don't want to be like an ostrich and not know what's going on. Pastor keeps us informed, but it can weigh heavy on you, like you can just like, oh man, you know, and then you, just you, then you turn the other. So you have to make sure to guard your peace. You know I can't guard somebody else's peace for them. I can't guard their heart, guard their mind. You, god's giving you the control to guard your peace, to guard your sound mind, and he's equipped you to do it. And so we have to make sure that you know we're skillful at using our authority and guarding our sound mind. That he's promised us. He's promised us a sound mind, right, and so we have to make sure to guard it and to put value into it, to care about it.
Speaker 1:Ephesians 4, 17 in the New Living Translation says with the Lord's authority, I say this live no longer as the Gentiles do, for they are hopelessly confused, their minds are full of darkness, they wander, far from the life God gives, because they have closed their minds and hardened their hearts against him. They have no sense of shame, they live for lustful pleasure and eagerly practice every kind of impurity. But that isn't what you learned about Christ. Since you have heard about Jesus and have learned the truth that comes from him, throw away, throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception. Instead, let the spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. I like that.
Speaker 1:In the New Living it says attitudes, also Thoughts and attitudes. Put on your new nature, created to be like God, truly righteous and holy. So here he's saying hey, we're just to live as children of light. We're not like those of the world who are confused. They're hopelessly confused, but we are to live as children of the light. Their minds are full of darkness, far from the life God gives, because their hearts have been hardened.
Speaker 1:And then verse 20, let's see 23,. It said let the spirit. So the spirit. Let the spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. And so your spirit. Man is strong. We have to make sure to feed our spirit man that he's, he's get strong on the inside, uh, you know. So I've been enjoying, we've been enjoying going to um, the faith foundation, uh classes. Last week and Pastor Joseph taught the first week, and then Mr Jimmy, spirit, soul and body, um, and that was such a good teaching and so good just to sit under Mr Jimmy and Pastor Joseph. And this morning it was Allison and she taught she did so good about the new you, the new, yeah, and she had a picture up of a butterfly and a caterpillar, how we've been, you know, transformed, how we've been metamorphosized into, like that, that butterfly. When you see that beautiful butterfly, it looks totally different when no one's in a cocoon. Two totally different things. And so here he's saying hey, let your spirit man renew. You have to allow it, renew your thoughts and attitudes, put on that new nature.
Speaker 1:Sometimes that old man tries to creep up right, that old way of thinking and that old way of getting offended and that old way of saying those words or doing it the way mom and daddy do. You know, this is tradition, this is what mommy and daddy and grandma and great, great, great granny did, and this is the way we got it and we got to keep it that way. No, well, what does God say? You have to make sure that everything you do lines up with the word of God. It's the you. It's a new way of thinking, it's a new way of doing things, it's a new perspective, and so that's part of a sound mind that God has given us.
Speaker 1:God has given us a calm, a well-balanced sound mind. He doesn't want us, you know, running around like a chicken with our neck cut off, like acting crazy. He wants to make sure that we have a sound mind. And so I put here you can stop a thought by speaking a word, right, right, you can stop a thought like, whatever you're thinking right now, like hurry up, selena, I'm hungry, I want to go to bed, but so that thought that you just had about me hurrying up and getting over this, like if you just say your name five times really quick, like I'm stopping that thought, right, you should try it. So if you say something, you speak words, that thought stops. Isn't it amazing how that happens? And so we have to make sure that that, the words coming out of our mouth, that they're Holy Ghost words, that they're, they're faith filled words, right, and so that stops the thought.
Speaker 1:And so Jesus didn't. I mean, you see it all throughout scripture he didn't entertain thoughts. It is written right Just when the, when the enemy was coming to tempt him. And you know, he had fasted for 40 days and he was hungry, he was tired, you know. But it is what he would answer him. He would answer the enemy. The enemy, would you know, oh, if, if you're, if you're the son of God, then you know, jump off the cliff If you're the son of like. And he would answer him. And so just Jesus didn't. I'm sure he had thought, but he didn't entertain those thoughts. He answered the enemy. It is written Satan, get behind me, you shall not tempt the Lord, your God. It is written. And so we have to make sure that those words are coming out of our mouth, that they're faith-filled words. Don't entertain the enemy's thoughts.
Speaker 1:I wanted to pass out, derek, if you could pass out. So, allison, I thought these were so, so good, and if you want one, you don't have to take one if you don't want one. But she stayed up all night just going. Now, some of them I know we've had, but she put together all of these confessions. They're so good and she broke them out into, um, like categories, right? The first one is because of what Jesus did for me on the cross. Uh, relationships and people. And I'll I'll read some of these. Um, so these are just confessions. You know, it's so important what we say, what comes out of our mouth, like relationships and people.
Speaker 1:I'm a positive encouragement to others. I edify and build up. I never tear down or destroy. Right, going into work Monday morning. This is what we say, right, I'm a person of peace and I bring peace to those around me.
Speaker 1:Isaiah 26.3. The love of God has been shed abroad in my heart by the Holy Ghost. Romans 5, 5. Therefore, it doesn't just stop there because it's been shed abroad, but what am I going to do about it now? Therefore, I choose to love others just as Jesus loves me. Isn't that good? I have favor with God and man Proverbs 3, 4. I have a teachable spirit Proverbs 12, 1. I love people regardless of my background or personality. I am a people person. I don't just pretend to love others, but I really love them. I am patient with imperfect people, demonstrating love and compassion Luke 6, 36. And so that's just on one category, that's relationships and people and finances, and giving work and business. I thought that was so good. I am a leader, I have great ideas and God makes me powerful. First, timothy 4, 12.
Speaker 1:I do all my work excellently and with great prudence, making the most of all of my time. Colossians 3.5. And that went with the prophecy that was given by Miss Catherine. Like tick-tock, tick-tock. The clock is ticking. What are we doing? And so we have to make sure to be busy about his work, and always, you know, sharing the love of God. I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me.
Speaker 1:Philippians 4, 13. I walk in wisdom every day and make the most of every opportunity. I'm intentional with the time God has given me and spend it doing what he has called me to do. Isn't that so good and so light in the darkness, victory over Satan. I don't give the devil a foothold in my life. I resist the devil and he has to flee from me. I exercise my authority over all the power of the enemy and nothing shall by any means hurt me. Luke 10, 19. These are also good Health, safety. I walk in protection every day because I love Jesus. Angels are working for me. Hebrews 1.14. No weapon from it gives me shall prosper. Isaiah 54.17.
Speaker 1:I'm not going to write it. It sounds like I'm reading all of them, but I'm not. I'm just going to go in through my words. My life is directed by the words I speak. I speak kind, encouraging, loving and truthful words.
Speaker 1:Proverbs 18, 21. There shall be a fulfillment of the things spoken to me by the Lord. I grow strong in faith, giving glory to God, being fully persuaded that what God has promised he is able to perform. Romans 4, 21. These are so good. And then it talks about my thoughts. I think right thoughts. I speak words of life and make good decisions. I usually say that every day, right From Psalm 19, 14. I cast down vain imagination.
Speaker 1:Second Corinthians 10, 4 and 5. I am transformed by the renewing of my mind. Romans 12, 1 and 2. I don't allow the devil to use my spirit as a garbage dump by meditating on negative things that he offers me. Ephesians 4, 27. My mind is sharp. My mind is sharp.
Speaker 1:1 Corinthians 2, 16. I am never alone. Therefore, I do not have to fear. Isaiah 41. God has not given me a spirit of fear, and that's our verse. 2 Timothy 1.7.
Speaker 1:And so all of these are so good, my actions. I'm a doer of the word, fruit of the spirit, god's plan for my life. He who has begun a good work in me will bring it to completion. No good thing is left undone in my life. That's so good. May the good things God has begun in me come to completion. Philippians 1, 6, and so all of these are so, so good. And then there's marriage, ones on the on the back, and then kids. I mean, those are I used to have certain I don't think they have them, but we would print these out and and I taped them when the kids were little, to their mirror. So every time they brush their teeth like let's look at our confessions, they're're right there. You know, cause a lot of times as parents like we get all these papers from school and they get lost or we don't know where that. But confessions like it's so important to put those in front and to look at the word and to meditate on the word. Amen.
Speaker 1:And one last scripture is Romans 12 too. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind that you may prove what is good and acceptable in the perfect will of God. And so God's called us to. You know he wants us to have mental clarity, he wants us to have a sound mind, he wants us to have peace in the mind and you know you can believe God. Maybe you don't right now have mental clarity or a sound mind, but I just want to remind you that, hey, jesus died on the cross for us so we can have a peaceful mind, so we can have right thoughts, so we can be transformed, so we can have a disciplined, calm mind, amen, amen. So I just want to encourage you with that.
Speaker 1:Just going back to my original, god hasn't given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and of a sound mind, and so just remember that, remember that. You know the enemy throws things our way, but we have authority. We have authority and we don't have to, we don't have to take his you know tactics and take his schemes. We have to make sure that we're active in just having a sound mind and making sure our thoughts line up with the word of God. Amen, because that's how we're going to bring.
Speaker 1:You know we talk about, you know, bringing people into the kingdom of God, and so some people may I think Allison might have said this during her class, but some people may not pick up a Bible. The only Bible they may read is you. But some people may not pick up a Bible. The only Bible they may read is you. And so if you're hateful, if you're snobby, if you're full of jealousy and don't want to talk to anybody, if they don't pick up a Bible, is that the kind of Bible they should want to read? I wouldn't want to read that Bible, right? So we have to make sure that we are portraying the love of God, even to the unlovable right, to the ones that aren't so huggy and nice. We have to make sure that we're portraying the love of God and showing like, hey, there's a better way to do things right, and sharing our testimony. It's so powerful to share our testimony and what God has done in our lives. Amen.
