Reigning As Kings In Life
Step into your divine authority and reign like a king in every aspect of your life! This episode delves into the profound truth that as believers, we are equipped to reclaim dominion through the righteousness we receive in Christ.
Lift our Bibles up, wave them around, make Jesus glad, the devil mad. Let's say this together say Heavenly Father, I'm so glad for 2025. I'm experiencing milestones. There are happenings in my life, there are breakthroughs, there are things that are going on that I'm going to always remember about this year. I thank you for victory on every side in Jesus' name, amen, amen.
Speaker 1:All right, let's turn in our Bibles to Romans, chapter 5, and I'll read verse 17,. Romans 5, 17. And it says For if, by one man's offense, death reigned by one talking about Adam, much more, think about that word. Much more. They which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, jesus Christ and I like the amplified. It says much more shall those who receive the abundance of grace, the gift of grace, shall reign as kings in life through Jesus Christ Reign as kings in life. So that's what I want to talk about tonight reigning as kings in life and it ties in with what I've been sharing on Sunday morning about the believer's authority and I've been speaking to you for some time about we are the kings that Jesus is king of. You know, kings have dominion in their domain, and so here is another way of looking at these. You know, I have a different verse now and we're going to have some others tonight, some other examples, so that you can, you know, build your faith. I mean, you know, I could just preach this on week number five, but I want to get it into you, I want to get your faith built to use your authority, your God-given authority that we have by virtue of the fact that we've been born again. And you know, redemption by the blood, you know, redemption just means return to the original owner, to restore to the original condition. We know the original condition was that Adam had dominion over everything and he lost it. And so now, because of Jesus, we've regained it and so we're to reign as kings in life.
Speaker 1:The word reign R-E-I-G-N. It means to rule, means to exercise the highest influence, to control. You see, and who is this for? Just everybody know it's for those who have received the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness. Well, who is that? Well, that's every born again Christian, in other words, the church. It's for the church to rule and to reign.
Speaker 1:And I, like John, chapter 1, verse 16, in the Amplified We'll go back and read the King James, but it says it's talking about Jesus and of his fullness. Have all we received? And grace for grace. But the Amplified says one grace after another, a spiritual blessing upon spiritual blessing, and even favor upon favor, and gift heaped upon gift. Well then, you know that ties into what 2025 is. It's a year of grace upon grace. It's the year of exceeding abundantly above.
Speaker 1:How's that going to happen? Well, we've got to use our authority, we've got to reign in our respective domains and then that way, if we do, then our church, glorious Way Church, is going to rule in its domain. It's going to reign as life, reign in life, as kings. So I like 1 John 4. We're going to flip you through the Bible with a few wonderful verses here that speak of who we are and how we ought to function, because I really do believe this part of waking up the church is to wake the church up to its authority, to wake the church up to its kingly position with God. I mean we're seated together with Christ in heavenly places far above, far above. And so here in 1 John 4, 17,. Herein is our love made perfect that we may have boldness in the day of judgment. That's right now. I mean, this is the beginning of the day of judgment. Because as he is, so are we in this world. As he is, so are we. So we're so one with Christ. I mean, yeah, he's up there, but we're down here. I mean we do what the head does. The head doesn't do one thing and the body do another. No, we do what the head says. We do what the head wills. If the head wills us to tread on something, then we're going to walk on it. If the head wills that we walk in health, then we're going to use our authority to banish sickness and so forth. So as he is, so are we in this world.
Speaker 1:Second Corinthians five. I like this one. Get a few of these verses in front of you 2 Corinthians 5, 17. We'll start with verse 17. Now, therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature, literally a new species of being that never before existed. Old things are passed away. Behold, all things are become new and all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself through Jesus Christ and hath given unto us the ministry of reconciliation. That is, to wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them, and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
Speaker 1:Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ. So you think about an ambassador? I mean that's a representative of a foreign country. I mean that's a high, that's a high station. Uh, we're ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us. We pray you in Christ's stead. Be ye reconciled to God. See, in other words, reconcile God's reconciled to us. Now let's reconcile ourself to God. I mean, let's quit looking like, let's quit thinking that we're not worthy.
Speaker 1:See the word of righteousness if you're gonna rule and reign as kings, you're gonna have to get really solid in the idea that you have been made the righteousness of God in Christ. The minute you got saved, you were righteous, period, end of story. It's not something you grow in, it's a status, it's a condition, it's a gift, it's the gift of righteousness. And so if you're ever going to rule, if you're ever going to reign as a king, then you've got to be strong in righteousness and that idea. And then it says in verse 21, for he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. And that's exactly what we are. We're the righteousness of God in Christ. That's how we rule and how we reign in life. We do it through and in Christ, which means through and in the name of Jesus. No one has ever had the name of Jesus to use until the church came along, you know. But we have that name and all the word of God, you know his name shall be called the word of God. So all the all, the throne of heaven is backing up that name when we use it in our authority. So, um, he has made him to be sin for us so that we could be the righteousness of God in him. So there's no question that we are the ones who have the divine right to use the name of Jesus and to rule, to reign, to exercise the highest influence you know, to control. Just think about, you know, we're in control, we're in control and that's part of waking up the church. I mean part of my mission back all these years ago, 26 years ago now coming up March the 1st will be 26 years ago when God spoke to me to wake up the church. Part of the process of waking up the church is to wake up the church to its righteousness, to wake up the church to its charge to rule and to reign in life as a king.
Speaker 1:And so tonight I wanted you to look at an illustration in the Old Testament. You know, the Old Testament is the shadow and the New Testament is a substance and I want you to look at Joshua, chapter 10. Joshua, chapter 10. We're not going to read the whole chapter, I just want to kind of go through it with you, and I think it would help you if you read the entire chapter. I believe it's a sterling example of the authority that we have. And yet here it is. Joshua had a covenant. We've got a better covenant than Joshua had. Here it is Joshua had a covenant. We've got a better covenant than Joshua had. Joshua didn't have the name of Jesus. We've got the name of Jesus. At the name of Jesus, every knee must bow, so you see. So when we read about Joshua in this chapter, I want you to think about what it means for us in this day that we're living in.
Speaker 1:So in Romans 16, 20, well, I'll get to Romans 16, 20 in a little bit. Let me just start with Joshua first. You're already there, so let's start with Joshua. Let me just kind of give you the story. You can read it for yourself. Later I'll give you some homework. Next chance you get read the whole chapter.
Speaker 1:But what you had was, you know God had told Israel go in and get rid of all the ites, you know, the Canaanites, the Hivites, every kind of ites. Well, the Gibeonites were part of that. They were people that lived in Israel, and so when Joshua conquered Ai and he conquered Jericho, I mean, the Gibeonites were afraid. So they concocted a scam and they put on ragged clothes, they got some moldy bread and says, hey, we be from way across over here and we heard about y'all and we're new in town and we need to cut the covenant with you. I mean, we want you to protect us.
Speaker 1:And Joshua got scammed by the Gibeonites. He didn't know they were actually living in the land and were part of the ones he was supposed to annihilate, and so, before he prayed, he went ahead and cut the covenant with them. And so then it got out and, oh my, it was very embarrassing. It was embarrassing that indeed, the Gibeonites were, you know, playing them for the fool. And so word got out that the Gibeonites had cut the covenant with Israel. So they said well, whatever you want to do with us, but you can't kill us now, we're in covenant with you. So they made them like servants and all of that. But it was embarrassing.
Speaker 1:So then the other there was one king in the neighboring area that heard about it, and Adonai Zedek, the king of Jerusalem, heard about it and he was very incensed that they had made peace and cut the covenant with Israel. And he called four other kings from four other cities and got them to agree to five kings in five cities, to go and attack not Israel, to attack the Gibeonites and annihilate the Gibeonites. So when they came, well, of course the Gibeonites cried out to Israel hey, joshua, we cut the covenant, you've got to answer for us, you've got to come protect us from all these five kings. And so they did, and they confronted them and they started slaughtering them. I mean, they started slaughtering these five armies and the respective kings of those armies were so afraid of what was going on that they fled the scene and went to another city and went into hiding.
Speaker 1:In the meantime, you know, god began to rain great hailstones out of heaven and more of those five cities were killed from the hailstones from from God than was by the sword from Israel. And so then you know, notice here in verse 8, see, he's about to confront these five, five armies. And the Lord said unto Joshua Fear them not, for I have delivered them into thine hand. There shall not a man of them stand before thee. In other words, you're going to annihilate every one of them. And so then they started fighting, and of course God rained hailstones down on them too, and so they were running out of daylight and they weren't finished with the job.
Speaker 1:And so, in verse 12, then, spoke Joshua to the Lord in the day when the Lord delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, son, stand thou still upon Gibeon and thou moon in the valley of Agilon. In other words, he stopped time. I want you to get this now. Joshua, in front of everyone, stopped time. He commanded the sun and the moon to stand still. And verse 13,. The sun stood still and the moon to stand still. And the verse 13,. The sun stood still and the moon stayed until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven and hasted not to go down about a whole day. They gained an entire day and had more time to annihilate the five armies that had come out against Gibeon.
Speaker 1:And so then they found out about the five kings that had fled, and so in verse 14, I want you to see this Verse 14, and there was no day like that, before it or after it, that the Lord hearkened unto the voice of a man, for the Lord fought for Israel. Well, you know, this is Old Testament. We got a better covenant than they do. What about us? I just want to build your faith. I mean, when you stand up in the face of the enemy and you speak the name of Jesus and command things to happen, I'm telling you right now, I mean, god is and all of his power is behind you, amen.
Speaker 1:So here in the five kings, verse 24,. They had fled to Makeda, and while they were still in battle, joshua sent some men over there, said okay, they're in those caves, roll stones over the cave's mouth and guard the cave's mouth so they don't escape. We're going to deal with them later. So they finished their battle. The whole day went by, where the sun and the moon stood still. They finished annihilating the five city armies and then they went to the cave where those guys were and they verse 22,.
Speaker 1:Joshua said open the mouth of the cave and bring out those five kings unto me out of the cave. And they did so and brought forth those five kings unto him out of the cave the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, the king of Eglon. And it came to pass, when they brought out those kings unto Joshua, that Joshua called for all the men of Israel and said unto the captains of the men of war which went with him come near, put your feet, put your feet, put your feet upon the necks of those kings. See, it wasn't. You know. Joshua could have done that. He could have put his. You know he's a head guy. I mean, he's the one that stopped the moon and the sun. He could have gone over there and watch what I'm going to do now. Watch what I'll do. I'm going to put my, I'm going to put my foot on their head. Who is Joshua? He's a type of Christ. He is a type of the head of the church. Who is the captains? That's the type of the church believer. That's the type of the believer. He said come over here, captains, put your feet on the necks of these five kings. And they came near and put their feet upon the necks of them.
Speaker 1:Now you have to understand in Bible days this is a symbol of total subjugation. I mean, that's what they would normally do. They would get their prisoners to kneel on the ground, they would bow with their face on the dirt and they would put their foot right on the back of their neck or on top of their back of their head and shove it down in the dirt. I've told this story recently, but I remember watching a newsreel of Saddam Hussein's brother back, you know, in the first Gulf War, where he was going down this, a bunch of prisoners of war that were bowing before him and their face was down in the dirt, and he put his boot on top of one of their heads and shoved it down the dirt and pulled a gun. Of course it didn't show you that he shot the guy, but I'm pretty sure he executed him right on the spot. So this is the kind of thing that you have when you have authority, you demonstrate it. And so they put their feet on the necks of the enemy and then he slew them and hung them in five trees.
Speaker 1:Just think about this Now, the only thing left of five Kings and five armies that dared to come out against God's people, I mean there was nothing left but dead, hanging from a tree, swinging from a rope. I know it sounds kind of harsh, but I mean you know they weren't out there. They were out there to murder and they got. They're the ones that got the worst of it. And so it's really a prophetic picture of Jesus defeating Satan. I mean it's exactly what Jesus did in the resurrection he defeated Satan. I mean it's exactly what Jesus did on on, uh, in the resurrection. He defeated Satan. He put his foot on the neck of Satan. So, so to speak, and he's telling us to do the same thing. He said you shall tread upon serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy. Nothing shall by any means hurt you. Praise God. Let's look, uh, let's look over here in Isaiah Got another verse for you.
Speaker 1:Are you getting anything out of this? I'm just by faith. I hear you saying yes, sir, go ahead and preach it, pastor. Well, I'm preaching. I want to get this in you. I want you to be so confident in your authority and in the name of Jesus, that you're not going to leave anything out that belongs to you.
Speaker 1:This year it's a year of milestones, but it's not going to happen automatically. We're going to have to possess our land. We're going to have to kick the trespassers and all of that off of our land, amen, amen. So Isaiah 26, 13,. O Lord, our Lord, other lords besides thee have had dominion over us, but by thee only will we make mention of thy name. You see, you know, the Satan had dominion over us before. Demonic powers had dominion over us before. Spirits of infirmity had dominion over us before. But that was before. That's before we found out who we were in Christ. That's before we were reconciled to God. That's before we recognize that we're new creatures. Old things have passed away. Behold, all things are become new. That's before we found out the power that's in the name of Jesus and that we've been given a carte blanche to use that name against sickness and disease, against demons and against every bit of trouble that could ever come against us.
Speaker 1:Praise God, hall, hallelujah. Yeah, they may have ruled over us at one time, but now we're in control, now we're exercising the highest influence. Praise God, I'm getting happy, all right. So, um, now I wanted to read Romans 16. I love this. This verse is, you know, paul, is we were in book of Romans, or Romans 16,. I love this verse. As you know, paul, as we were in the book of Romans.
Speaker 1:Romans has got some revelation and he's talking about our authority and how we're to reign in life as kings or as kings in life Romans 16, verse 20. He's talking to the Romans and he says this to them and the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord, jesus Christ, be with you, amen. So, in other words, he's talking to them about their authority. The God of peace, the God of shalom, health, prosperity and peace, shall bruise Satan under your feet, shall tread. My margin says he'll tread Satan under your feet, he'll throw Satan under your feet, and I like another version. It says the God of shalom will throw Satan under your feet, that you may quickly crush him. He will throw Satan under your feet, that you may quickly crush him.
Speaker 1:I'm telling you we don't have to take years to have dominion. We don't have to take years to exercise our authority and see the results of it. I mean, the more exercise we get in our authority. The more we meditate on these things, the faster it'll be that we gain the victory and get the devil behind us where he can't do any more damage. I'm telling you, I just believe this is a year when some of us have been in a long struggle about certain things.
Speaker 1:If you'll meditate on these things that I'm teaching right now, this is the basics God told me to teach, the thing that you take for granted. I learned some of this 40 years. I've been operating in this for many years and I had to. You know, I had to start it, like you at the very beginning. But you know, as you go, as you go, as you go, you gain more and more skill, you gain more and more faith, and your faith works, amen. And so I mean God is throwing Satan under our feet, that we may quickly crush him, praise God. So I've got three things to leave you with tonight. And to reign, which again means to rule. It means to exercise the highest influence. It means to control, it means to control, and so what I want you to do is I want you to maintain the picture in your mind of utter dominance over satan.
Speaker 1:Remember what joshua did he brought the captains over. He brought everybody over. I mean, all of israel watched him, all israel heard him. Stop the sun and the moon. And then so he could prove something to them. He wanted them to know look, yeah, I've got authority, but so do you Come over here. I want you to put your feet on the necks of these kings. These are kings. Maybe you're just not that important a person, but he had some captains. He had some captains. He had some captains. He said you go over there and you put your foot on their neck and see, this is a picture that they kept with them all the way through the rest of the conquest. They were just starting. They were just starting to possess the land. They were just starting to kick out the trespassers and the poachers and the squatters. You know that's what happens Somebody starts to trespass. If you don't do anything, then they start stealing your game. And if you don't do anything, then they'll start squatting on your land. They'll set up residence on it. No, we're going to get rid of them. We're going to kick them off the land. We're going to kick them all the way out.
Speaker 1:So maintain the picture in your mind of your utter dominance over Satan. See him quickly thrown under your feet. I mean, that's what we're to do. We're to tread upon serpents and scorpions, we're to walk on them. We're not to be afraid of them, we're not to put up with them. We're to use our authority, amen. So maintain that picture in your mind.
Speaker 1:Number two continually speak of your authority over every situation the enemy brings against you, which means that you've got to quit speaking defeat. You've got to quit speaking your financial need. You've got to quit speaking being broke and magnifying your lack. You've got to quit speaking sickness and disease and pain and trouble and misery, and quit talking to everybody about your trouble. See what are you doing? You're magnifying the devil.
Speaker 1:Really, it's the opposite of what Joshua told him. He didn't say man, just keep in mind, these guys were once kings. They could have killed all of us. Man, we're really lucky today that we got no, he said put your feet. Put your feet on their neck. I want you to feel how that. Doesn't that feel good? I can just hear him. Doesn't that feel good to have your foot on the neck of a king? Everybody was running in fear of what he said, and now you've got your foot right on top of his neck and see, that's what you know. Let's, let's. Let's speak like it's true. Let's talk victory, let's talk health, let's talk prosperity, let's talk health, let's talk prosperity. And you know, my God's always taking care of me in grand style, hallelujah.
Speaker 1:I've been loosing the administering spirits to bring money and I mean, boy, we are sowing seed. We're going full speed ahead all across, you know, many states now. I mean we're getting news every day. In fact, james right now, is talking to the next state. He's going to all the way to Michigan. He's going to be going next week and we're talking and having an interview with him right now. I mean we're out there. I mean pretty soon we're going to be in all 50 states.
Speaker 1:Glorious Way, church, and how are we going to do that? Well, one state at a time. But I'm telling you, I'm saying ministering spirits, we have a need now. We've got to have provision coming back to us, you know, because we're spending that money and we're sowing that seed. Praise God. No, I'm not talking about, I'm not afraid. I'm not talking about how we're going to do it. No, I know not talking about, I'm not afraid. I'm not talking about how we're going to do it. No, I know God's going to take care of us in grand style.
Speaker 1:And finally, let's demonstrate. I mean, in other words, if all of these things are true, then are you going to act? The part? Look what they did. They actually put their foot on the neck of a king. See, I think at least when we start, you know, start moving in our authority.
Speaker 1:Sometimes I was saying this Sunday, you know, when I, when I rebuke the devil I rebuke the devil every morning, first thing in the morning, I say Satan, in the name of Jesus, I slam my fist down on my arm chair or where, or on the table or or wherever I am in the house, when I start exercising authority over Satan and demon powers, I demand you cease and desist in your maneuvers and operations and assignments in the name of Jesus. And so you know, like I talked about the lady whose little dog followed her out of the apartment, she had to stomp her foot. Get back, fifi, get back in the house. It wasn't until she exercised and demonstrated that she meant business. You know, sometimes if you've got this wimpy look on your face, it's pained. You know I got tears running down your face because you're so grieved. Listen, don't ever let the devil, see you cry. Don't have a pity party in front of the devil, in front of your angels. I mean, go wash your face and put some oil on there and get a smile on your face and act like you've got the victory. Amen, demonstrate it. Demonstrate, it gets back.
Speaker 1:I've said this many, many times, but it's momentum. Remember my message on momentum. You can always tell in a football game who's got it. The guys that run and break out of the huddle and they run up to the line of scrimmage and they get down in their stances and, man, I mean they're ready to go. And the other guys on the other side of the ball, they've got their hands on their hips and they're looking down and they're tired and they wish they could go home and they're beat. See, is that where you're going to look? You're going to look like you beat. Are you going to look like you've got your foot on top of the neck of the king? So shout, stomp, march, laugh. You know, have a victory. Dance, praise god. Uh, you know, have that winning tradition.
Speaker 1:I mean you are a winner. Jesus made you a winner the day you got saved. You became victorious. In him, the blood changed your ownership. I mean we've been reconciled to God. He's reconciled himself to you. We're reconciled to him. That means we're facing each other, we're looking at each other in the eye, we're not ashamed when we look at God and I'm telling you we have the victory. So let's reign in life by his name as kings. Praise God, lift your hands and receive Hallelujah. Thank you, lord. I pray this, encourage you. Tonight I got so happy preaching this Hallelujah Reigning in life is king. Brother Osteen wrote a book one time when I first started going to Lakewood Reigning in life is king, man. It changed my life. I read that book. It wasn't a mini book but it was a small book. It was a you know a book about like that and about that thick one that you could read, you know, in 30 minutes. And I got so pumped up and I'm still pumped up about my authority in the name of Jesus, hallelujah.
