Revival Is Imminent

Pastor John Greiner

Can we truly recognize the signs of revival and the end times in our modern world? This episode promises insights through the scriptures of Isaiah 60 and James 5, as we celebrate the birth of our Savior and explore the enlightening power of the Holy Spirit. We reflect on the increased miracles, signs, and wonders that suggest a global revival is upon us, while contemplating the unique challenges of living as believers in what many view as the end times.

Speaker 1:

Let's get into the Word together, shall we? And so, if you will just pick up your Bibles and wave them around, make Jesus glad, the devil mad. Say this together. Say, heavenly Father, I'm so glad for this season. I'm celebrating the birth of my Savior, and I'm so glad for the Word of God, and I'm so glad for the Holy Ghost who's within me to illuminate this Word that I hear tonight and make it real to my spirit, so that my faith is fed and my spirit is developed, and I'll give you all the praise for the victory that results in Jesus name. Amen.

Speaker 1:

Let's turn in our Bibles, please, to Isaiah, the 60th chapter. We'll start with that and then also, while you're looking, find James, chapter five, and we'll start reading in verse one of Isaiah 60. Arise, shine, for thy light is come and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth and gross darkness the people. But the Lord shall arise upon thee and his glory shall be seen upon thee, and the Gentiles shall come to thy light and kings to the brightness of thy rising. Lift up thine eyes round about and see All they gather themselves together. They come to thee. Thy son shall come from far and thy daughter shall be nursed at thy side. Then you shall see and flow together, and your heart shall fear and be enlarged, because the abundance of the sea shall be converted unto thee. The forces or the wealth of the Gentiles shall come unto thee. The multitude of camels shall cover thee, the dromedaries of Midian and Ephah, all they from Sheba shall come. They shall bring gold and incense and they shall show forth the praises of the Lord. And then in James, chapter 5, and we'll start there, in verse 7. Sorry about that, my pages are sticking together, alright, be patient, therefore. Sorry about that, my pages are sticking together, all right. Be patient, therefore, brethren. Under the coming of the Lord, behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth and hath long patience for it until he received the early and the latter rain. Be you also patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh, and so tonight I wanted to share a message entitled why Revival is Imminent. Why Revival is Imminent and I have preached this message before and it's more imminent now than it was the last time I preached it, and I'm more excited about it now than I was back the last time I preached it. I mean, every time you turn around you're seeing signs of revival and we're just living in those days that we've been waiting on and praying for and looking for, and I believe we're already really in the early stages of it. For sure we're living in the days that the prophet foretold.

Speaker 1:

You know, about 20 years ago I guess I was in a Billy Brim meeting and I heard her say this and just went off in my spirit when she said it. She said no one has pastored church in the end times. And you know it, just I witnessed. Immediately I began to see that because, you know, when we started this church and it'll be our 30th anniversary coming up in January I had no thought that it would be anything other than a local church. I had no thinking about you know, anything national or anything big or anything like wake up the church. Or I mean you know, just a local church where you, you know, you disciple the sheep and you lead, feed and guard the sheep. I mean that's what I am a pastor, that's what mainly was in my heart. But then, after God began to visit me, sometimes spectacularly and sometimes just through the witness, over all these years we've seen that God added to our mandate some things like wake up the church and so forth and so on.

Speaker 1:

And here we are now, 30 years later, and we're beginning to see the fruit of it actually produce. And so you know, if it's true that no one has ever pastored a church in the end times, then it's true that no one has ever been a believer in the end times. And so that's why, from time to time, I have to. You know, my job is to watch over your souls as one that gives an account, your way of thinking, and it's real easy to forget that number one that Jesus is coming soon. And what does that mean? Well, it means there's going to be a worldwide revival. And before he comes, I mean God knows how to bring a crop. I mean, we read in James he's looking for the precious fruit of the earth and he's going to send the early and the latter rain. What is that? Well, that's miracle, signs and wonders, and we're beginning to see an increase in those things. We're beginning to see light is beginning to shine in dark places and in dark hearts. So, you know, in the middle of that, you know you do have a group of where Jesus said there would be in the last days, men's hearts failing them for looking upon what was coming upon the earth.

Speaker 1:

I mean, there's, you know, I'm just thinking about a year ago in October, that horrible thing October the 7th in 2023, where Hamas attacked Israel and came out of Gaza Strip and all of the you know, when you look on a map, that famous rock concert, you know, I guess that's what I thought it was, but actually it was a celebration that had to do with their Jewish holiday. They were singing and dancing and they were celebrating according to their traditions and it was a Sabbath day and they came right across out of the Gaza Strip and came across and attacked people that were unawares, they didn't even know they were coming, they didn't know they were, you know, and they just massacred and tortured and desecrated and murdered and and then took captive and it was a shocking thing. We'll hear a year later. Look at the differences. I mean, my goodness, it's just we see Bible prophecy fulfilling.

Speaker 1:

We see, in the last days, dangerous things times shall come. You know, paul told Timothy, and so we're living in those days and wars. You know, genocide, famines, pestilences, persecution. I mean there's a big fire in Southern California, big, real rich area of the state, malibu. Everybody knows about Malibu. Well, it's burning up. I mean they're fleeing their homes. I mean it's looking terrible. Those, those Santa Ana winds are blowing. Um.

Speaker 1:

So the word says, when we see these things begin to happen, jesus said, uh, that we should, uh, lift up our heads and, uh and look up, for our redemption draweth nigh, you know, and don't be looking down at the ground with your hands on your hips. No, stand up straight and then look up, because your redemption draws Now. I just believe Jesus is coming soon, but before he comes, what's going to happen? We're going to have a mighty revival and there's a mighty outpouring. There's going to be a mighty harvest and you know, james calls it the precious fruit of the earth. That's how God sees this last in time revival, it's the final end, gathering the precious fruit of the earth. And so, you know, revival is imminent.

Speaker 1:

I just want to remind you. I mean we need to keep our thinking straight. Maybe you're going through some tough times. You know, sometimes the holidays are a joyous occasion for many, but then for others of us and other people too, I mean some people it's really lonesome. I mean maybe they've lost a loved one during the year and this is their first Christmas without them being here. I mean, these are real issues. People have real issues. Sometimes people's families are fractured and Christmas time is not what it used to be for them, and there's there's there's a strange month. There's, there's dread getting around, people that don't get along anymore because of all the things that are going on in society, and I just want to encourage you to listen. Revival is imminent. Don't give up your fat, don't give up on your family, don't give up on what God can do. God is, is a miracle worker. So I just want to encourage you. But revival is imminent.

Speaker 1:

I like this definition of revival Revival is the inrush of the spirit into a body that threatens to become a corpse. And isn't that really what happens, you know, when you have a resuscitation a successful resuscitation, medical resuscitation, is when somebody is threatening to die. And then you know, uh, medical intervention is necessary and the paddles are. You know they, they shock their heart and they, they do CPR and they might even, uh uh, inject, uh you know, chemicals into the heart directly through a big, long needle. And it's just. You know, they do some dramatic things to keep people alive, and sometimes it absolutely does work.

Speaker 1:

And I tell you, god knows how to bring the church alive and the God knows how to revive the church and bring it into position where it will be able to reap this final harvest. So I believe we're seeing right now the church of Jesus Christ is becoming a mighty force on the earth. We saw, you know, some evidence of it, you know, in this last election. Finally, the church showed up. The church showed up to vote. I mean, it's been a while since we've seen Christians show up in the right to numbers like they should, and now we're seeing a whole different dynamic and we're rejoicing because God is behind all of that. So why? Revival is imminent.

Speaker 1:

I've just got a couple of points to make tonight, just want to keep you encouraged along those lines. The first one, as I've always mentioned, already mentioned Jesus is coming soon. I mean all the signs point to his soon return. Jesus is coming soon. I mean all the signs point to his soon return. I don't have any dates. I wouldn't be so foolish to try to give you that, but I just know we're living in the season.

Speaker 1:

Why, well, jesus, when he was on the earth at the end, he started telling them about the end times. And he said look at that temple over there. You see that temple, not one stone is going to be left undone. It's going to be totally destroyed and so forth. And so they began to ask him there in Matthew 24, lord, what is the sign of these things and what is the sign of your glorious appearing? The word perugia? He said what is the sign of the end of the age, not the end of the world, the end end? He said what is the sign of the end of the age, not the end of the world, the end of the age. And what is the sign of your glorious appearing? Because they knew Jesus was coming back. He told him he was coming back. What are the signs? And the first thing that Jesus said is take heed that you be not deceived. And then he began to talk, talk about wars and rumors of wars, and pestilence and famines and earthquakes and all of that. And he said all these are the beginning of SARS, but the end is not yet. But then he kept going and he said but behold, the fig tree there in Matthew 24. And of course we know that the fig tree, according to Joel 1 7, is Israel, he said Israel, the country of Israel. And in Luke 21, he said in verse 29, behold the fig tree and all the other trees, in other words the prophetic nations that are set around Israel. Behold them. Behold doesn't mean glance, behold means study, behold means stay abreast.

Speaker 1:

And in my generation I mean I had already been born in 1947 and 1948 for the first time since Jesus' day, 40 years after Jesus went to heaven, jerusalem was destroyed. A million plus Jews died and the Jewish people were dispersed throughout the, throughout the whole world, because of their sin, the sin of rejecting their Messiah. And they rejected the law. And so God told them what the curse would be You're going to be dispersed throughout the whole earth. And they were. But he said I'll gather you back again. All the prophets, from Isaiah to Jeremiah to Ezekiel, they all prophesied that Israel will be regathered. And when were they regathered? They had their own nation granted to them in 1948. And so we're the generation. I like to call this generation the terminal generation. Why? Because I believe we're going to see Jesus come back. I really do, and so that means we're close. I don't have a date, but I know that we're close because the Jews have been regathered into their homeland. And then, you know, all Israel's enemies were gathered around them on that date when they finally got the news that the UN had approved, america had approved, and they voted and they said, yes, you can have your own nation.

Speaker 1:

And they were immediately attacked by the Arab nations around them, in Egypt and Syria and Jordan, and just, they were attacked instantly. Well, they prevailed in that battle and they were able to survive that. And then the 1967 war again they were attacked and they survived that. I mean, when you look at some of the things that they were able to survive, they entered into the old city in Jerusalem and they were able to reclaim part of Jerusalem again. After all these years 2,000 years here they came back into Jerusalem. Before 67, they didn't have any claim on Jerusalem, they had been walled off. But now they were back in there and they didn't start the war. The rest of them started the war.

Speaker 1:

And then in 1973, the Yom Kippur War Again, their enemies attacked them on a holy day, yom Kippur, and when they're dedicating their, it's a day of repentance, where they're, you know, spiritually, they're looking to God, and all of a sudden their enemies know that they're distracted and they attacked them in 1973. And again, they prevailed. And in 1973, I want you to see something here, because just this week, something happened a week ago. See something here, because just this week, something happened a week ago 1973, they were attacked by, you know, these arab nations and they pushed back and they captured mount herman and which is in the golan heights, which is the highest mountain in all of israel, and really the golan is part of israel, but syria had had had possession of it. So when sy, syria, was one of the nations that attacked them, they attacked back and they captured the Mount Hermon. They actually possessed it and, of course, america, with weak leadership back then, along with the UN, we made them give up the summit and so they gave the summit back to Syria and Syria built a military base right on the summit of Mount Hermon, overlooking Israel, and Israel is such a tiny country. I mean, they needed the high ground and their enemies didn't need that. So, anyway, you might've remembered, back in, I think, 2019, trump was in favor of the Golan Heights being annexed back to Israel and recognized the Golan Heights as part of Israel, but they still didn't possess it, they didn't possess the summit until last week. Last week, the rebels captured Syria, drove Bashar Assad out of the country and, for the first time in 50 years 73 to 24, 51 years Israel went back up on the Mount Hermon, recaptured that summit and they have possessed Mount Hermon. I'm telling you, god is collecting things.

Speaker 1:

The Psalm 83 war has been fought by all the surrounding nations, that's Jordan, syria, lebanon, all these nations right around Israel. Psalm 83 talks about a war. Well, that war has been going on for quite some time and guess what? It looks like it's over and it could be that Iran is gonna be smitten here before very long. We're seeing Bible prophecy fulfilled. It's exciting, and so we need to pray and watch and pray that Biden doesn't do anything foolish between now and January 20th.

Speaker 1:

I do trust Trump to do the right thing by Israel. I did hear that Netanyahu is coming to the inauguration and that's a good sign. So, you know, instead of being frustrated or under pressure, let's just, you know, let's stand up straight and look up, because our redemption draws not. You know, I like James. Chapter five says be patient, therefore, brethren, under the coming of the Lord, and so he is going to send sign, signs, wonders and miracles. I mean, maybe you need a miracle tonight? Well, you're. You're miracles on the way. Maybe you need a miracle tonight? Well, your miracle's on the way. And he's including you in what he's got planned in the next while before Jesus comes back. So he wants us to be able to reap the precious fruit of the earth. So point number one is Jesus is coming soon and everything that I see going on points to that. The number two thing that is true, because light is shining in the church. But darkness, number two darkness covers the earth and gross darkness covers the people.

Speaker 1:

I mean, when you look at just right here in America, the two things that have happened just in the last week, you had a hero on a New York subway, a young Marine who subdued a nut job, crazy criminal. He's a criminal, is what he was, and he threatened everybody on the subway and this, this, this Marine, took him down and put him in a chokehold and he died. Well, he didn't choke him to death, he didn't die from the chokehold. See, that's the dirty little secret. Nobody's saying he did not die from the chokehold. So the entire charge was a complete travesty. The charge for murder was completely made up, it was completely political and you've got crazy Black Lives Matter people out front. He was acquitted, he's free now and you've got a certain percentage of people that hate him, that think that this is injustice and this is not right.

Speaker 1:

This poor man Well, the poor man that died was a criminal. I keep thinking about George Floyd, all this pitiful outpouring over George Floyd and he was a criminal. And the cops didn't kill him either. He died of a drug overdose. This guy died from some other reason. It was not the chokehold. Besides that, he had to be subdued and the cops won't come.

Speaker 1:

The cops are so dishonored in New York City because they're not backed up by any of the administration, so they don't come when they're called. And people die every day in New York needlessly, until you have a hero, and now you know you've got a whole percentage of people calling him a dirt bag and a murderer. And then, simultaneous that you've got a young, rich kid who is crazy and he shoots the executive of United Health Care and murders him on a New York sidewalk and you've got the same people that are condemning the hero, therefore the murderer of this health care. Well, people can only take so much like. The insurance companies are the enemy. Well, the insurance companies are the enemy, because Congress didn't get rid of Obamacare. That's why we have the mess that we have. Is we never got rid of Obamacare back when we could have?

Speaker 1:

So, anyway, I want you to see that darkness is covering many people, gross darkness. They're not even able to tell the difference between a hero and a criminal. They're not even able to tell the difference between right and wrong, good and evil, and you've got a lot of that going on. It's not half the country. I really don't believe it's half. I think it's way less than that. But it's the point of media. They give them a platform. I got kind of irritated listening to some of my conservative outlets that I they kept listening Over and over. They gave that crazy person out front of that trial, the Black Lives Matter guy. They gave him a platform. I thought why are you giving him a platform? He hadn't said the truth yet he's lying. Every word he says is a lie. They are not, by the way, for black lives. They are a communist organization. That's what they're. They strictly use race as a place of excuse to riot and have violence. So darkness covers the earth.

Speaker 1:

But what did God say? I'm sending light on the church. So we got to let our light shine. We can't focus on the darkness. Let's just let our light shine and the glory will draw to us. The Bible says the Gentiles, those who need to get saved. You know just like light draws moths, you know. And light, you know, if you want to go fishing at night, you put a big old, strong light down under the, especially out in the Gulf of Mexico, those fishing piers. They shine light down in the Gulf out at that big old fishing pier there at West Beach and Galveston they got these strong floodlights that go down under the water and it draws the bait and then the other fish come to the bait and I mean, you know you can clean up, you know, and so we just shine the light. It will draw to us the people who need to get saved. They'll come to the light. And so you know, romans 12, 21 says be not overcome with evil, but overcome evil with good. That's what we're doing All over the country now.

Speaker 1:

Things are happening with, with my God votes and we're getting. We've already gotten news from from Maine. Maine is already got a someone to represent us up there that they're going to be the capital coordinator. We've got interested legislators who've volunteered their offices, and we've got the same thing going on in Indiana. We had a call from the attorney general of Indiana and he's real interested in my God Votes.

Speaker 1:

Listen, I tell you, revival is coming. I think we're right on the edge of revival. This has never happened. We've been working on for 20 years waking up the church, and now we're just now beginning to see evidence that the church indeed, is waking up. And so Galatians 6, 9, let's not be weary in well-doing, for when due season we shall reap if we faint not.

Speaker 1:

And I tell you, I believe we're coming into reaping season, and I believe that the reaping season extends to your family. Some of you are believing God for your family and for your loved ones, and for your friends and different ones. And I just want to take a moment to remind you. We're going to have a powerful service on the 22nd of December, sunday morning. The children are going to put on a program, but I'm telling you, I believe, that if you'll bring people that need to get saved to that service, we're going to throw out the net and I just believe people right here at Christmastime are going to get saved. I mean, we're right here, there's such a move of God that's right on the edge of what we're expecting, and so let's take advantage of it. Bring your loved ones to church Sunday morning, the 22nd, and we're going to throw out the net, we're going to make a place for them to get saved and have their lives changed.

Speaker 1:

But, at any rate, I just want to encourage you that, why? Revival is imminent. I believe that we have some solid evidence out of the Word of God, and now we can see the Word being fulfilled. So let's just lift our hands, father. We thank you for revival. We thank you, father, that our lights are shining, we're rising up and we're not going to retreat, we're not going to draw back, but we're speaking up. We're rising up and we thank you, father, that you're moving on our behalf in a mighty way. In the name of Jesus, praise God.
