The Impact Of Momentum
2024 is set to be a groundbreaking year of spiritual momentum, a revelation that came to me through prayer and prophetic reflection. Join us as we navigate the transformative power of belief, drawing wisdom from the teachings of 1 Timothy and Acts. As we explore the significance of Jewish traditions such as Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, you'll gain insights into how these historical moments intersect with current events and spiritual insights, shaping our understanding of faith and politics today.
Let's lift our Bibles up, wave them around, make Jesus glad, the devil mad, and say this together Say, heavenly Father, no other place I'd rather be than right here, in the presence of people of like precious faith, in the presence of the Holy Ghost, the Spirit of truth. Lord, I thank you for the Holy Ghost today. Reveal to me, holy Spirit, the truth that I need to dispense to those around me. I want to be an influence, I want to make an impact for the kingdom of God. In Jesus' name, amen, you can be seated. Let's turn in our Bibles, please. We're going to get right into the Word. 1 Timothy, chapter 1, and also Acts 19, while you're flipping and finding a spot. We'll start with Acts, chapter 1, verse 18. Paul writing to his son in the faith, this charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy.
Speaker 1:According to the prophecies, everybody shout prophecies and notice it's plural. According to the prophecies, everybody shout prophecies and notice it's plural. According to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war, a good warfare. And then, if we'll turn over to chapter 4, the same book, verse 14, he told him neglect not the gift that is in thee, which is given thee by prophecy. Everybody shout prophecy With a laying on of the hands of the presbytery Meditate upon these things, give thyself wholly to them. That thy profiting may appear to all and my margin, that thy profiting may appear to all and my margin, that thy profiting may appear in all things. Take heed unto thyself and unto the doctrine or the teaching. Continue in them, for in doing this, thou shalt both save thyself and them that hear thee. All right. And then in Acts 19, verse 20, so mightily grew the word of God and prevailed. Mightily grew the word of God and prevailed.
Speaker 1:And so today I wanted to share a message entitled the impact of momentum. You might remember that 2024 is the year of momentum and I received that last year at the end of 2023. As my custom, I like to go three to four times a year, every quarter try to. Sometimes I don't make it, sometimes just three times. It's never been like it has been in 2024, when I've. This is my first time.
Speaker 1:Just this past Sunday I was. I had some time, scheduled time off, and scheduled time off was to rest. But instead of resting, I went and labored in prayer and labored and, you know, and got before the Lord. Because I labored, you know, and got before the Lord because I hadn't been, you know, there all the year and I'm used to going there all year. I like to be where I can hear and see things, and prophetically, you know, this is an apostolic vine with a prophetic river.
Speaker 1:And so the Wednesday before that, last Sunday, which would have been October 2nd, a week ago, this past Wednesday was Rosh Hashanah, the Feast of Trumpets, and so then we entered into the 10 days between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, which was just the other day. Those 10 days are called in the Jewish tradition the Days of Awe. That's where the Jews you know it's kind of alternative between Solomon joy, you know they're, they're getting things right with their God and God had the certain feast days put in stone on certain days of their lunar. They have a lunar calendar, so it's a little different than our Gregorian calendar, but still they have a set time every year where they're, you know, encouraged to do these things. I just heard the other day that on the Rosh Hashanah this past time, there were a group of Jewish rabbis that went into onto the Temple Mount and they got all kind of rules, because it's it's three holy sites. The temple mount is not just where the temple was, but it's also. The muslims came later and built. That's what they do. They build their, their stuff, on top of our stuff. You know, they built a mosque right on the side of 9-11. It just makes me mad every time I think about it, that we allowed that to happen. George W Bush allowed it to happen. Anyway, I'm not a violent thump, it's just a make-believe thump, okay, but that's what they do.
Speaker 1:And then, of course, christianity. Well, christianity wouldn't have any problem with Jews going up there and doing whatever they want to do, but there's all kind do. And then, of course, christianity. Well, christianity wouldn't have any problem with Jews going up there and doing whatever they want to do, but there's all kind of rules and laws and they can't do what they always do on the Feast of Trumpets. So they went and they had their little. They couldn't take their Torahs, they had all of their tradition that they do on the Feast of Trumpets. They had it written out on little pieces of paper folded, and I don't know how this. I still haven't heard how they smuggled miniature shofars, but they did and they played the shofar. They blew the shofar in the Temple Mount and read their stuff. Oh, I'm telling you, they went crazy. The Muslims are going nuts.
Speaker 1:This is prophetic Folks. We are about to strike the impact of momentum. These are momentous days. Well, anyway, I went to Galveston and I was thinking about Rosh Hashanah 2019. And I mentioned this is an apostolic river, or an apostolic vine with a prophetic flow, a prophetic river, and I don't know how many were here that Wednesday night on Rosh Hanah. I mean, we tapped into a river and God began to speak to this congregation and it just went on and on, and on and on. We wrote it all down, had it all recorded and we transcribed it, and I went over all those prophecies last week before I went to Galveston, and then I took them with me to Galveston read them again.
Speaker 1:It's good to meditate on what God says. We meditate on the Word, all right, but a prophetic Word, if it's really from God, it's equal to Scripture. I like what Dr Guy Pay said when he was here. He said I'm going to be ministering in the Holy Ghost this morning and I'm going to give some of you some words and you listen and you write it down and you meditate on it, and if your heart agrees with it, well then take it and if it doesn't well, just put it on the shelf. It might be useful later and if it doesn't well, just put it on the shelf, it might be useful later. But I didn't hear anything that day that he said that I didn't 100% agree with. I mean, he see, prophetic words have to line up with the word or else you don't. You know, you don't go by that.
Speaker 1:So, anyway, it was on my heart about what had happened in 2019, which happens to be five years ago. And what did god do on that night? See. So he, he started talking about the next year, 2020, year 2020. Greatest year yet. G-y-y. Anybody remember G-Y-Y? See, and so, and then you know.
Speaker 1:So I was looking at that. I went back and I looked at my messages on 2021, which we were right in the middle of the aftermath of the stolen election and the pandemic, and I didn't have a special word. I just held on G-Y-Y and we had prayer meeting after prayer. Do y'all remember the prayer meetings we used to have? I mean we were online on Tuesday morning, wednesday night, thursday morning, live stream, sunday morning, sunday night. I mean we had five occasions every week where we were preaching the Word. I mean, the Word of God was prevailing. We were speaking the truth, we were standing up, we were open during the pandemic, we would not close. I gave the president his 15 days and after that baby, it's, it's Katie bar the door. We're opening and we were open. It's it's to the shame of many churches that they didn't open. They had. They had no reason to close except being chicken.
Speaker 1:2023 then we 2022 was raising the standard. When the enemy comes in like a flood, the spirit of the lord will lift up a standard against him. Well, really, that, that, the king james, is just not quite descriptive. We, we think that the devil comes in like a flood. No, the devil doesn't come in like a flood. The devil comes in, but then, when he does, god comes in like a raging torrent driven by the wind of God or the breath of God. That's us, that's who we are. So we spent 2022 talking about lifting up the standard and speaking against the garbage that's going on. It's getting worse out there folks, not better.
Speaker 1:As far as the Democrats are concerned, I don't care if somebody doesn't like me talking about politics. There's the door, leave. I'm going to talk about the truth. The truth is, these people are demonized. You cannot vote for a Democrat. You can't. I like these victims of murder. They're on the television right now and they've got some black women, they've got some Hispanic women, they've got some white women whose relatives were murdered and there's no justice and they've let these killers go free. And who was that? Democrat judges? When did they come in 2018.? We need to get rid of them. I just voted. I voted last week. I've already voted, and there were some Democrats that ran unopposed and I didn't vote for them. I'm not going to put yes on them at all, but for every other one that a Republican you know that a Republican was opposing them, I voted all straight Republican, all the way to the bottom.
Speaker 1:Well, pastor, I don't know who that is. Well, you just need to know are. That's all you need to know. You don't need to know anybody. I don't know any of them either. Well, what if they're not good? Well, they're better than a Democrat. We don't have but two choices.
Speaker 1:Well, that Trump? Well, shut up. He's the best president we ever had and he was the best friend that Israel ever had and the best friend that the church ever had. So shut up. I don't care whether you like him or not, it's immaterial. Whether he'd be your best friend or whether you like his, his mannerisms or anything, that's immaterial. What are his policies? Folks, we've got to get a brain and start using and get on god's side. Well, that's not in none of that's in my notes. So that's what happens. I get going on.
Speaker 1:My claire calls it a bulldozer, but anyway, it probably is. It is a bulldozer, I'm bulldozing. I'm preaching to the choir. I know y'all are straight, but this goes out beyond here and I still encounter people that are weak, weenie Frankfurters. You know a foot-long Frankfurter. The only way it's any good is if you put it in a bun and hold it with both hands, because if you hold the frankfurter it's going to go like that. I mean it's weak, it can't hold its own weight. That's the way a lot of Christians are. They can't hold the weight of the God's word. They're just, they're too worried about what people think of them. Well, pastor, you don't understand it. Well, pastor, you don't understand. It's my own family. Well, I'm talking especially to you.
Speaker 1:Be a leader in your family, jesus. I mean he didn't take any bunk from his mother and his brethren. They came trying to say you know, jesus, you've gone off the rails here. We're here to kind of help straighten you out. Philip said hey, your family's outside. Jesus said look around the room. This is my family right here. This is my mother, these are my brethren, those who hear the word of God and do it. That's my family. What are you going to do with that? He that loveth his family more than me is not worthy of me. That's what Jesus said. So, no, let's be leaders in our family.
Speaker 1:And Jim Garlow, last Sunday night, if you weren't here last Sunday night, he gave you ammunition. And instead of arguing and debating with people and they're brain dead, you know they're just repeating talking points that somebody showed them online or on Apple phone or wherever they get their news. It's lies, most of it, but he gave you the word. That covers just every single issue that we have in front of us right now. And guess what? The word of God is sharp and powerful. It's sharper than any two edged sword. It pierces even to the dividing asunder of soul and marrow. Soul and spirit, joints and marrow. So use the word on folks, amen. So I got to thinking about these years 2022, raising up a standard. 2023, the year of God's power.
Speaker 1:Anybody remember about the locomotives on the sidetrack? And they were still there. They're still laying right there on the sidetrack. That represents every church that closed. They're retired, they're on the sidetrack. They are absolutely. I mean. They're not shining for Jesus. They hid their light under a bushel. They're ashamed of the truth. They hid their light under a bushel. They're ashamed of the truth. They don't want to stand for anything.
Speaker 1:Well, I might lose my 501c3. I don't give a flip about the 501c3. Who cares about a tax-exempt number? In fact, a church doesn't even need it. The church is tax-exempt by law. Charities need them and, and you know, sometimes I wonder why I ever applied for one. But I'm not moved by it. I don't really care whether they they they canceled. They can't cancel the church, they can't. They threaten it, but they've never done it. They've never See. This is the dirty little secret that most pastors and the board of demons don't know. Our board of deacons don't know Is that it's never been challenged. Are y'all with me now?
Speaker 1:And so the year of God's power. So that year, man, we preached on the power of prayer. We preached on the power of healing, god's healing power. We talked about power from every standpoint, because God is wanting the church to rise up in power. He's given us authority and he's given us dunamis, which is supernatural power. And then, of course, last year, the year of momentum, and you know, the year of momentum came Acts 19, 20. That was the verse I saw, that I heard in my spirit when I went to Galveston at the end of 2023.
Speaker 1:There happened to be a northwest wind blowing just 10 miles an hour or so. It wasn't blowing real strong, but just that little bit of northwest wind prevailed against the surf and the surf was flat. There was not a wave anywhere. It was just lapping up there like it's a pond on a ranch or something. I mean, there was no waves. Here's the giant Gulf of Mexico, you know, way offshore out there. There's 15 foot waves out there. But when it got to the shore, that little old Northwest wind, it wasn't, didn't amount to nothing. It prevailed over that, all those waves, and it was just flat like that. And that's the scripture that came to mind. And it was just flat like that. And that's the scripture that came to mind Acts 19, 20. The word of God mightily prevailed, grew and mightily prevailed.
Speaker 1:So the year of momentum and momentum now is a force or energy exerted by a moving body. It's the force or energy exerted by a series of events. You take a football team, a series of plays going down the field. I mean, you know, you see, these guys, they start on their own. One yard I saw, I saw I forget if it's the Texans, I think they started on the one yard line, did a 99 yard drive, they went all the way down the field and scored a touchdown. Guess what that did? It established momentum. It was a series of plays that they ran all the way down the field. You know five yards, six yards, 15 yards, 30 yards. I mean they got down there and they scored, and it was momentum, a series of events.
Speaker 1:And so momentum that's sustained. You know, momentum can wane. Seeing that too, with the Aggies and the Texans. I'm a big football fan, this is my time of year, I love football and of course the Astros are the last row, so they didn't show up, they just disappeared. Two games and they're out. So we can't root for them because they're at home. But I can root for the Aggies and I can root for the Texans Football. I like football. But momentum can change. I mean they can have all this momentum and all of a sudden they make a few boneheaded moves. You know a few penalties. Next thing, you know, the other team's got the momentum and now it's shifted. See so, but momentum when it is sustained.
Speaker 1:Momentum sustained results in prevailing. See that northwest wind. It didn't just blow and then quit blowing. It blew softly, 15, 10, 15 miles an hour, all one day, all one night. And that surf just went flat. And this church has got 30 years of preaching the word of obedience to God's prophetic guidance. Are y'all with me now? And right now? We're entering in the last quarter of 2024.
Speaker 1:So I want to remind you about momentum, because we've got to not only maintain this momentum, but we've got an opportunity to increase the momentum, because we got a word just the other day with Dr Guy Paye. He had restoration, acceleration and speed, acceleration and speed. So what is the definition of momentum? Momentum is mass times, velocity. So let's just say your mass is 200 pounds and your velocity is 60 miles an hour. So 60 times two has 1,200, no 12,000 foot-pounds per second. It's more than that because 88 foot per second is 60 miles an hour. So I had to go back and do my math, but anyway you get the idea. You multiply them and that gives you a figure.
Speaker 1:So if your speed increases, your momentum increases, if your mass increases and you gain influence, maybe members, more people get on fire for Jesus, as opposed to a congregation of thousands who don't know squat about the Bible. They just show up every Sunday because it's their custom and they don't make any impact and they don't have a life of prayer and they don't have a life in the word. There's not very much momentum, even though you've got a lot of bodies. You've got you've got 10,000 bodies sitting in the chairs out there, but you've got very little momentum. Why? Because there's not any Bible knowledge and there's nobody speaking the truth to their people around them. I'll stack the momentum in this church up around, up against any mega church you can name. In fact, some of the mega churches I used to hear about are gone now. Their pastors have been caught in sin and some of them have been asked to resign and some of them died. Are y'all with me now? We're here, 30 years, we're here and we've got some momentum. Amen, glory to God.
Speaker 1:And so If either your mass or your velocity increase, then you have more momentum or you have more impact. Everybody shout impact. See, you can understand impact, impact, impact, impact. I mean I played football in high school and you know I was 140 pounds, dripping wet with sweat, and played guard. I mean nobody that light plays on the line. I mean they're either sitting on the bench or they're a running back, but they're not out there on the line.
Speaker 1:And then I played defense my sophomore year too, and so of course you had to learn how to tackle and so if you tackle wrong, so even back then my, my coaches taught me not to lower my head and and spear somebody. That's a good way to break your neck or get a concussion. But I would see that happen. I mean I, these guys to get out there on the football field and the running back would be running and linebackbacker would butt his head down and they'd butt helmets like this. And one guy that I knew that was a year older, he didn't know who he was for a couple of days. I mean it rang his bell man, and of course back then they had the crummiest little helmets. I mean the helmets weren't like they are now. They've got shock absorbers in there, they've got all kind of thank God for technology. I mean, they've helped. You know people not to be wounded so badly.
Speaker 1:But I was taught that you don't sit there and let the running back run over you while you're standing there. Still, no, you've got to move toward him and you put your face mask in his chest. Now that's a little awkward because your neck is going to kind of go back like that or whatever. But when you tackle properly, I'm telling you, both parties meet and they fall straight down. I mean, maybe you might drive him back or he might drive you back a little bit, but you can absorb a tackle like that on both sides. A running back can absorb a tackle like that and you can absorb it. But you know, if you're afraid and you get out there and you let this guy with momentum hit you, the impact is going to knock you into the next county and his cleats are going to be on your face. He's going to run right over you. First time I ever made a tackle, I froze and that's what happened to me. I just got run right over like a freight train. It was embarrassing. I said I'm not going to let that happen again.
Speaker 1:I'm talking about impact now. So what is impact. Impact is forceful contact or collision. I'm telling you we're making forceful contact. We're colliding with the spirit of Antichrist right now. We're driving him back. He is not prepared for the momentum that we've carried. We're taking back territory. We're doing things that nobody ever dreamed we could do.
Speaker 1:A church of this size we're not a mega church. Look around, we've got a lot of red empty seats in here. But I'll tell you, like I said before, I'll stack the momentum of this church up against any mega church you can find. Are y'all with me now? I want to keep it going. In fact, I want to increase it.
Speaker 1:So these past five years seem to have an asterisk by them. You know, if you're looking at a record book and they put a little asterisk out there by them and it just seems like these five years I mean, we've been getting these prophetic words about each year for a long, long time. But these last five years when I, when I was meditating in Galveston I was meditating, I listened to some of the messages, I looked at my notes, I meditated on all of it and I came away with my time of prayer with the Lord with this message in my heart to build you up, encourage you, because I know many of you are battling with everything you have. You've got some circumstances in front of you and and it seems like it's this pie in the sky. When you hear a message like this and I'm I'm saying, no, let's, let's meditate in this and let's, let's meditate upon these prophecies. God didn't just make this up. This is not pie in the sky. This is God's perspective.
Speaker 1:So, in 2019, the greatest year yet, that's what he gave us. He said I'm going to give. And he said this in 2019, before we even got to 2020. This was in September of 19. And he said I 2019, before we even got to 2020. This was in September of 19. And he said I'm going to give you my perspective and if you take my perspective, I will give you my power and my prominence and I'm going to see that your footprint is going to expand. You're going to have a bigger footprint.
Speaker 1:Well, that's happened. I mean, this church is known. Well, you're bragging. No, I'm reporting Because God said it was going to happen. It will happen to anyone who will take his perspective. What is his perspective? What is his perspective? What is his perspective? Prophecy the word, and when you believe it and you speak it and agree with it. Power comes. And I'm telling you right now, when you start making impact, people start noticing who you are. Your footprint is on the devil's face. Your cleat marks are right on his forehead, and you can have that in your personal life against the devil that's trying to put infirmity and sickness and poverty on you and stealing from you financially, interrupting your career, messing with your job and all of those things that you face.
Speaker 1:So in 2019, you know, god's perspective was that he said you know, in so many words, you're going to look back this time next year and you're going to say, wow, this has been the greatest year of my life. So from that we got GYY. How many of you remember the red envelopes? How many of you? I challenge you I said what would your year look like? Write it down, give me a description of what the greatest year in your life would look like. I mean financially, health wise, marriage, wise, family, wise, child wise, career wise, businesswise, marriage-wise, family-wise, child-wise, career-wise business, whatever, whatever. Just put it down there and then make a faith promise. Ask God, say God, I want to give you an extra offering and if you'll bring this in over and above everything else. I will give you this amount and I'm still seeing people give their GYY offering five years later and I salute you. That's integrity right there. That's integrity right there and so. But God said this is going to be the greatest year of your life. Well, what year was he talking about? He was talking about the year 2020.
Speaker 1:And if I went around and took a poll of most Christians, 2020 was the worst year of their life. Chances are many of them had deaths in the family of COVID. Chances are many of them. They had all kinds of trouble with their kids because their kids were shuttered in at home instead of being in school. It affected our children terribly to have these masks on their face. It just makes me mad. Every time I go out and see some little baby with a mask on, I want to just go again. I want to thump him in love. Of course I mean, what planet are you from to believe this garbage? What planet are you from to believe this garbage? So what was ahead?
Speaker 1:Well, god saw the pandemic, god saw the loss of our freedoms and God saw the stolen election that was able to be stolen because of the pandemic. They redid all of the voting rules illegally, by the way, they can't do that but they did it, state after state did it, and that's not the state's job. And guess what? Then you know, you throw the guy in jail for protesting. You, you use lawfare against Trump. For five years Now, every, every court in the land wants a piece of his action. Make up everything they can. The January 6th that's a scandal that anybody went to prison over that and everybody that was in charge of that needs to be in prison. Nancy Pelosi, I want her number one. I know it's online, I don't care, I'm saying it. I'm saying it, I mean it.
Speaker 1:So God saw that and gave us what His perspective, his perspective is all the way out, that's the way it's going to be over there in Egypt, but in the land of Goshen there's going to be light, there's going to be blessing in the land of Goshen, because I make a difference between the righteous and the wicked, see, that's God's perspective, and so we had to preach that, and we had to preach that. I had to preach it to myself, I mean it. You myself, I mean you, know you keep looking at the news, you look at this stuff, and I finally had to just dial back what I, you know, have on. I mean I just can't take it all in every day, all day long. I mean I just kind of glance at it and I get the. I get you know what I need to get out of it and then I turn it off. Right, I get you know what I need to get out of it and then I turn it off. Well, he gave us his perspective, his power and his prominence or his influence, and so I want to give you some things that you can do now, between now and 2025. I haven't gone away to pray over 2025 yet. That's coming up, but if it's like 2020 and 2021 and 2022 and 2023 and 2024, 2025, I can't wait to hear God's perspective. I really have an excitement in my heart. Are you really believe that?
Speaker 1:The election well, I'm not even talking about the election right now. The election is what the reason we had all this trouble is. The church didn't do what it should have done in all these other elections back over our shoulder. We did not engage people politically. We didn't do anything about the ungodliness in our government, and it goes way back, folks. It wasn't just a little recently.
Speaker 1:And so what does that do. It fills a cup of judgment where it ties God's hand of blessing One nation under God, but this nation got out from under God. I mean, you want to stand under the avalanche, where the avalanche comes off the mountain, and sit there and absorb the rocks coming off the side of the Rocky Mountains? Well, he'll let you, but he's got a cleft in the rock. He's got a place of protection for you, he's got a covering for you if you will obey him and put him first and, above all, vote.
Speaker 1:There's too many Christians that don't even register, much less vote. And then they register and then they still don't vote. And I'm telling you this morning, before I forget it vote now. Vote as soon as the early voting starts. Go, vote right, don't wait. Do not wait to vote the day of. Don't do it. Don't do it because that was a mistake we made in 2020. People waited and a lot of times people didn't really. Things come up, car breaks down, they have a medical emergency, something happens and it becomes inconvenient. The line's too long, I couldn't get off work, blah, blah, blah. Make every excuse you want to. You didn't vote. The church didn't show up in 2022. I said the church didn't show up in 2022. I said the church didn't show up in 2022, but I do believe that this election is going to be different, but we've got to make it happen. It hadn't happened yet.
Speaker 1:Who's going to make you and you and I are going to make? Well, I'm, I'm out of it. I already voted. I voted by mail because I'm 77 years old and I get to. I don't have to stand in line. I like it. Oh, we got to get rid of voting by mail. I won't. I won't voting by mail for me. Now, if y'all want to vote in person, you go right ahead, but I want to vote by mail. I'm just joking you. I don't care what they do. Whatever they have to do to secure the ballot is what I want. So, between now and 2025, there's three more months let's do three things. How many of you are willing to do three things?
Speaker 1:Number one meditate on this word Momentum. How does it apply to you? What is your momentum? You know, how are you how? How? How's your life working? Are you making impact? Are you moving through the obstacles that are coming up against you, or have they got you buffaloed? Have they got you on your back heels? Have you kind of gotten tired. See, the devil comes to wear out the same In the last days. The book of Daniel says in the last days the devil is going to come. He knows his time is short and he's going to come to wear out the saints. I see people that are just exhausted. And so you know, meditate. God wants you to prosper and he wants that prosperity to be visible to everyone, and also in all things. He wants you to prosper across the board, not just in health, not just in finances, but in everything. And so meditate. See the difference between meditating and just hearing it. Say you can hear something. You hear me preaching. Oh yeah, that's good.
Speaker 1:It's the difference between tasting and eating. I mean, if you tasted, let's just say you tasted a wonderful meal. You tasted the chicken fried. So I'm going to go back to chicken fried steak, because I really like chicken fried steak. And but then I do like blue crab. Yes, I like crab, all rotten With a lump crab meat.
Speaker 1:That's about. You know, each lump is about the size of your little finger and a half, about that much, and it's got the cheese on it. It's got this. You know, I could eat that. I mean, I had some of that. I fasted beef and I had to go to crab. And that's what Catholics do. They don't eat meat on Friday, so they eat crab, they eat fish, they eat shrimp, but that's not kosher.
Speaker 1:Well, I'm not obeying the dietary law, I don't care about the dietary law, but if I just tasted it it wouldn't be much. I mean, yeah, I could taste it and it tastes really good, but am I going to get the benefit out of it? No, I'm not going to get any benefit of tasting. What do I have to do? I have to eat it. What does it mean to eat it? Well, and what do I have to do? I have to eat it. What does it mean to eat it? Well, you've got to put it in your mouth and you've got to chew it.
Speaker 1:Chewing is the first part of digesting something. You've got to chew it, you've got to chew it and chew it and chew it. You know, I used to know a lady that would chew and it'd take her. I'd be through eating in about. I don't have time for that. I mean I go. I confess I still go up my feet, but part of digestion is chewing. And then then your digestive tract. It has to stay in your digestive tract and you extract all the nutrients. You extract all the good stuff, the protein, the carbohydrate, everything.
Speaker 1:The fuel that you need for your body to have health is is not whether you tasted something, but whether you ate it, whether you, whether you in, you brought it into you and it became part of you. Are you with me now? That's the difference between just hearing the word and meditating on it. The word meditate doesn't mean like this you know what? There's just too many ads on television that they have this Eastern religion on there, anyway. Eastern religion on there, anyway.
Speaker 1:So meditate just means to turn about, to mutter, to say over and over, to cogitate, to think about, but also to speak it over and over until it becomes part of you, until it gets down in your heart. See, when it gets down in your heart, that's when faith starts. Faith doesn't start by tasting. I said faith doesn't come by tasting. Faith cometh by what Hearing. Hearing is a product of ingesting. It. Are y'all following me there? So it's going to take a little time. You're going to have to think about that and think about momentum. Think about this year of momentum. Look back on the first nine months of this? Is your momentum staying the same or is it increasing or is it decreasing? See, that'll tell you something about your life. I mean, I want you to prosper, I want you to be blessed and then, by virtue of that, all of us together, then, are going to occupy a place.
Speaker 1:And then, number two, give yourself to prayer. See, you get God's perspective when you meditate, but when you give yourself to prayer, you get power. The first part is for the perspective. The second part, the prayer, is for the power. And I look back on 2021, 2022, all that.
Speaker 1:We used to have a lot of Sunday nights. We had power hour plus. Anybody remember power hour plus Now, every now and then we call those. We're going to have another one for the election. We'll do a power hour plus, and that's just when we come on a Sunday night and we, in fact, I might even do it Sunday morning, I don't care, I'm a pastor. I might decide to do that, I don't know.
Speaker 1:I like to preach, but praying is important. There's power release when you pray. Prayer never takes anything out of you. It puts something into you. Prayer is not giving God a laundry list of your requests. Prayer is communicating or communing with God, and in prayer you begin to receive what you need to do. You begin to receive. There's a knowing, especially when you pray in other tongues.
Speaker 1:See, what did Paul tell Timothy? He told him to meditate on the Scripture. But in 2 Timothy 1.6, I want you to put that up on the screen the Amplified 2 Timothy 1.6. He had to write Timothy a second letter. In the first letter he's encouraging him. In the second letter he found out that Timothy was losing momentum letter. He found out that Timothy was losing momentum. He was weeping and crying and kind of semi-ashamed of Paul's chain. He doesn't say it in so many words, but he indicates it. And in 2 Timothy 1.6, he tells him the secret of how to get over that. This is why I would remind you to stir up, that is, to rekindle the embers of, fan the flame of and keep burning the gracious gift of God, the inner fire that is in you, by means of the laying on of my hands with those of the elders. At your ordination he left off prophecy, but prophecy was part of that.
Speaker 1:So when you pray in other tongues, what happens when you pray in other tongues? Well, your understanding is unfruitful, your brain doesn't join in. That's why people a lot of times don't stay with it, because they're used to, they're addicted to stimulus. They want to be stimulated in their thinking. Well, now, let's give yourself to praying in other tongues, because the Bible says when you pray in other tongues, your spirit prayeth. It's spiritual activity. Number two it says you speak divine mysteries. Number three it says you, verily, give a thanks. Well, number four it says you magnify god, see all. When you pray in other tongues, I'm telling you it's a massive good that happens to you. You begin to have a knowing you. This is how you can begin in prayer. You can begin to receive a knowing of things you wouldn't ordinarily know unless you prayed much in other tongues.
Speaker 1:Romans 8, 26 says you know, uh, that we don't always know what to pray for as well, we all. But we, we, we, we pray, and with groanings, or, and really one, one, one, uh, the word groanings there it just means other tongues. So we don't always know how to pray. If we touch everything with our head and we pray according to our own understanding all the time, we might not pray accurately enough to solve the issue that's before us. We need to pray in other tongues, and the Spirit himself helpeth our infirmities. He takes hold together with us against poverty, against sickness, against disease. I'm telling you he can have a knowing that, what?
Speaker 1:Maybe you've got a difficult medical condition and the doctors haven't been able to. You've been praying on it, you've been confessing the word and yet you still you know we're facing some of that with Gladys. I mean, we've had this go on for a long, long time. I mean, y'all have helped us, you've helped with us. You know you're not praying for her healing. You're praying in agreement with us, praying, praying other tongues for us. That's what you do with her. You don't pray for her to be healed, she's healed. We're in the part between the amen and the. There it is. We don't need to pray for her healing, she's healed. But we do need to pray for her in tongues, and that holds her arms up, it keeps her strengthened.
Speaker 1:It helps us identify if there is a medical situation that we need to a special doctor we need to go to. We've got a doctor's appointment this week with you know, with a bone doctor, you know the orthopedic surgeon, and then got another one at the neurologist the latter part of the month. Those are things that we have in front of us. But God might have something else and you know, as we all pray, we can get information that we wouldn't get. Give yourself to prayer. That's where you get the power. How many of you know you need God's supernatural power? Not going to get it without a prayer life. You have to have a word life, a prayer life.
Speaker 1:In the last one, that you might war a good warfare, he told Timothy that you might war a good warfare. Yeah, pastor, I'm at war with the devil. Well, no, that's not what I'm talking about, exactly because the devil's already been defeated. We're not warring against him because he's defeated. Well, no, that's not what I'm talking about. Exactly Because the devil's already been defeated. We're not warring against him because he's defeated. So what does it mean, war, a good warfare? Well, when you look it up in the Greek linguistic Greek, a key to the Greek New Testament, it means this to execute the apostolate. Warfare is the apostolic lifestyle. What do you mean by that? War is to execute the apostolate, with all of its trials and troubles and resistances. So apostolic means taking back territory the devil stole.
Speaker 1:When Jesus said go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature, what is that that's apostolic. The apostle is sent. We are all, in that sense, sent to our world. That doesn't make you an apostle, but it does mean that you have an apostolic lifestyle that you can either participate in or not. See might means it's on you, see, let's go back to that.
Speaker 1:Verse 1 Timothy, I want you to see it, because a lot of people don't even know why they go to church. They just think they go to church. You know all kind of reasons. I'm here to tell you why you're really here. You're in the army of God. You're here to do His bidding. Hey, listen, this is right here. This is at the last of the last days. Jesus is coming soon.
Speaker 1:And he said this charge verse 18, this charge I commit unto thee See, charge, see. That's a pretty strong word. You know, timothy, I suggest. No, he could have said I command. I mean, you know, after all, timothy is a man under authority. He's under authority. Whose authority is he under? Well, he's under God's authority, but he's under Paul's authority, because Paul is his father in the faith Brother Osteen was on the earth. I always subjected myself to him. I always, even after we started the church, I would listen to him. I would heed his advice. When he went to heaven. I didn't go off looking for somebody else to take his place. I stepped up into that place. Are you with me now? I charge you, I commit unto you, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on on thee, that you, by them, might war a good warfare. You might or you might not. See. Might is not on God's side, it's on your side. It's whether you're willing to engage in this apostolic lifestyle.
Speaker 1:The apostolic lifestyle is one of gathering and distributing. It's one of taking ground. It's like a pioneer spirit. You're going, you know, just like the pioneers left St Louis and they headed west and they had to ford rivers that they hadn't seen and they had to go out there among all kinds of wild animals and wolves. And then the Indian tribes, and many of them, were violently opposed to the settlers coming and they massacred many of the pioneers on the trail. And then sometimes the trail was so treacherous, the weather was so bad. I mean you get a Conestoga wagon and it breaks down and you're stuck there and you run out of food and you starve to death on the road on the trail. I mean this was a massive thing that this country had pioneers and, of course, nowadays they want to reinvent history and make it all like it's racist or something. Well, the Indians had it for a long time. They didn't do anything with it. We did something with it. You can say that without being racist. It's a fact, and the gospel has been preached from this land all over the world. So that's the apostolic lifestyle.
Speaker 1:So you have to use your perspective, or should use your perspective and power to influence those that you meet, and so that's very important right now, especially between now and this election. You know, if this election goes south, I think there will be some terrible things that happen in this nation. But Jesus, I'm going to say this Jesus is not going to fall off the throne if Trump doesn't get elected. The church is not going to dissolve if Trump doesn't get elected. We're going on. We're going to keep on. See, I don't have everything tied up in Trump. I don't have everything tied up in the Republican Party. I'm not tied up with all of that. It's just the right thing for us to do. There's two choices, and we know which choice we should make. It's just that simple. It's just that simple. It's not complicated. And so then, use your perspective and power to influence those that you meet, influence your family, influence your friends, influence those that come across your path. And we've got the ammunition. And as we do, our momentum will have maximum impact on the devil and demon powers.
Speaker 1:Everybody say maximum impact, the impact of momentum. Come on, lift your hands and receive today, hallelujah, glory to God. Everybody say this together. Say Heavenly Father, I'm committed to executing the apostolate, with all of its dangers and troubles, all of its trials and tribulations. Because of the Holy Ghost and the Word of God in me, I overcome all. I'm making maximum impact for the kingdom of God. Come on, let's rejoice today. Hallelujah, glory to God. Glory to God.
